  1. Looking to exchange this life, I bought the wrong one
  2. Hehehe, well, I can't give you a dictionary, but how about an avatar! Here you go: Now go fix that blank image, you deserve better! :D
  3. LOL Shaun, that was for HedgeHog, but I admire your enthusiasm!
  4. Why did I suddenly picture you wearing a wife beater stained with beer? ;)
  5. Before I throw a dictionary at your face... 1ae0bfb8 would have every right to do that on his/her own mod page. You, Shaun0057, have obviously missed the entire point of my post.
  6. I will probably get hatemail for this, but it's been bothering me so much of late I had to come write this. People... I get it. With AE out, the community split on what version of the game they play or want to play, it makes things confusing, and confusion leads to frustration. But for the love of the gods, stop taking it out on the MOD AUTHORS! Every mod I go look at invariably has multiple posts with variations of "OMG I need update -you need to update! - this doesn't work for x version, please fix! - update please?" and so on. First of all, mod authors are aware of the game updates. The ones that are around at any rate. And I'm sure they want to offer compatible versions of their mods on the Nexus. Filling up their posts with begging only adds stress. Who wants to create in that environment? They know. They need time to work on it. Secondly, understand this: The only mods that need to be of a specific game version are the ones that contain DLLs. That's it. Any other mods that work for Skryim, Skyrim Special Addition, or Skyrim Anniversary Editon, only need to be compatible with the game you use: LE, SSE or SSE AE. Go through your load order. If you use MO2 there is an option to show "Content" which will allow you to find all the mods that contain DLLs. And, as stated, those are the only ones that require specific game and SKSE versions. Just try and imagine yourself as the author of a mod that is popular. Imagine going to your mod page and seeing nothing but people "reminding" you that you need to update your mod. Constantly. Multiple times. Daily. How would that make you feel? Just think on that please before you join the bandwagon of needy whiners. Remind yourself this is a game you play for entertainment, relaxation, escapism, what have you. These mod authors make this s#*! for FREE. They are literally using their amazing talents, spending their precious personal time, and giving it away! Mod Authors' Lives Matter!
  7. Trying to figure out why my new avatar isn't working!!!
  8. On the contrary, with MO2 (my personal choice of MM and everyone has theirs) the MODS are on the left, everything you install, where just the PLUGINS are on the right. And since you can double click open any of your MODS you can manage each individual file the way you want. As for BSAs, those would have to be extracted first in order to work with the individual files within them. You're saying Vortex can look inside those without them being extracted? And you can decide which individual files (textures, meshes, etc.) should or should not be installed/overwritten? I find that hard to believe, but if you say it is so, then that's a handy feature indeed.
  9. I'm too lazy right now to do all the fancy quotations from bits and pieces of all your posts. Firstly, yes, I absolutely know that Vortex is spearheaded by Tannin. Secondly, as to all the comments about the better capabilities of Vortex to sort mod conflicts, I'll just stick to xEdit. That's what that tool is built for, and I have control over it. I appreciate that Vortex has a similar functionality, but again, the trade off is that you have the more complex time of arranging your plugins the way you want. You have to make rules and such, and I'd rather just be able to manually place things where I want and tweak the mod files, etc. Augusta, I agree with you, whatever floats yer boat! ;)
  10. I have recently tried Vortex since it's the "supported" MM for Nexus. I tried. I really tried to like it. I find it a shiny mess. I know I'll get lambasted here since everyone in this thread seems to be such fans. But take my opinion with a grain of salt. I'm an MO2 user. I moved to MO2 after a short time using NMM, all before Vortex was even mentioned. IMHO, MO2 is the go to. You don't have to use all these fancy schmancy tabs and rules and yada yada. Just install your mod. Then move it up and down in your load order wherever you want. Showing it's overwriting something in another mod? No problem, just double click it, and look at all the files it contains. You can choose to delete or just hide individual files. Want 'em back? Unhide them! Decided mod B should now be mod A? Drag that puppy up and done. You can run all your tools from within MO2 (FNIS, LOOT, etc.). You order your plugins on the right, and ALL your mods on the left. So that means you can keep mods in the order you want, even the ones that don't have plugins. There are so many great features in MO2 that I can't even understand why anyone uses Vortex. I find it overly complicated for what it's supposed to be doing. And no, I don't mean complicated in the sense that I don't understand it, I mean complicated in the sense that it makes the easiest functions way more complicated than they need to be. I wanted to add, although I tip my hat to what the Vortex team is trying to do, there is nothing - no program at all - that can replace the need for gamers to learn how to mod correctly. We simply have to read the mod pages, understand what the mods do that we are stuffing into our games, and learn how to use best practices when building a load order. Relying on a piece of software to do this for us is an invitation to disaster. Period. I get why people are sticking to NMM, not just for nostalgia and familiarity, but because it functions better than the new shiny Vortex. And then there are those like me who have found MO2 and would never turn back. Sorry Vortex fans, but there is no way you can ever convince me that Vortex is the best MM available. It simply over complicates what needs to be done and makes it seem acceptable because it's backed by Nexus and has sparklies. But hey, whatever floats yer boat.
  11. Always last to be picked for kickball team
  12. I just reinstalled MO2. I restarted my machine, I recycled modem and router. I was even tempted to do an Irish Jig if that would help. MO2 refuses to let me log into Nexus. I have my paths set correctly. I can log into Nexus in browser (obvs!). I can even download mods. They go right into the downloads tab with the progress bar and let me install normally. What I can't do is use the check all for updates function. This is vital, to all of us, because who wants to manually check 200 some odd mods? I have my Nexus User Name and Password input correctly into MO2 (because I carefully did it four separate times). For the life of me I can't get this to work. Yes, I'm aware of the big hoohah with the new EU security/privacy whatever going on, but according to this thread here the new version should have rectified the secure connection (https:). So... anyone? What gives?
  13. I just updated to 1.10.82 and now I can't start a new game. I can load saves and enter those, but if I click New Game, say yes, I hear a sound effect and it just stays on the cinematic of the Red Rocket and the music loops and there is no menu anymore, I have to tab out, right click game icon and close it. I've tried many times. Rebooted machine. Just refuses to allow a new game. What the hell? Oh, and the game menu also flashes on the upper left New Version Available, but in settings it shows 1.10.82.0. And my F4SE is also up to date.
