Yes, absolutely .fuz files are the best for packaging with your finalized mod! I did notice a lot of people giving up on doing new dialogue, because when they went into the game - they couldn't see any results. Hopefully, this little tidbit will solve that for them :smile: -

Guess what? You've done everything correctly. But … when you go INTO the game to test your NPC, you need to SAVE your game then LOAD YOUR SAVED GAME. NOW … approach your NPC and guess what? I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to read/get a user's (player's) computer date/time using papyrus script. There are multiple ways using the Utility class to get in-game time, real time passed etc. etc... however, in order to take my mod to a whole 'nother level - I would need to determine what month/day it is IRL for the player using my mod. Anyone have any suggestions … recommendations? Anyway to incorporate another scripting language within papyrus, like VBscript or javascript? Thanks in advance for any help or direction!

SSE Parent/Child Script - accessing child function help

Yeah, saw that my inheritance is backwards .. sigh, inherits UP not down - also the reason I can call Utility.Wait() - or just Wait() is because the function is compartmentalized and is declared as a global. The function in the 'Child' that I need to access from the 'Parent' requires variables from the 'Parent' ... so can't make the function global. Arrghhh ... my head is starting to hurt! Is there ANY way that I can 'bypass' this apparent character/line restriction on the script? It's just SO darn handy having all my functions in the ONE script! Edit: They are both attached to the same ObjectReference (DefaultTrigger) so making them siblings would probably be the most efficient, if not the most elegant option. Because it's a default trigger, can't add the 'child' to the base object unless I copy it and make a 'myDefaultTrigger' ... which isn't really an issue. But I never thought of the sibling - appreciate you suggesting it -

Hmmm not sure if this helps, but I use this .. PlayerREF.ModActorValue("health", 1) ;adds +1 to player health permanently If you want to do a generic script, where you can change / set the attributes of different aspects (ie; health, stamina, alteration etc) PlayerREF.ModActorValue(myAttribute, 1) ;adds whatever property value is in 'myAttribute' soo... you could change the myAttribute to be 'health', 'stamina', 'alteration', 'destruction' etc.. in the property settings Edit: Make sure you declare your attribute string so script would be: ******************************************************************** Script myGenericAttributeChange extends ObjectReference String myAttribute Event OnActivate(blah blah) ;Do blah blah PlayerREF.ModActorValue(myAttribute, 1) ;or whatever amount you want EndEvent ********************************************************************* -

I DO NOT agree with fear-mongering in any way - that being said, burying one's head in the sand is not wise either. A very important consideration / prediction ... The Creation Kit may eventually become a tool to be licensed or otherwise charged for use. This would make perfect business sense for Bethesda / Steam in order to 'move' modders to their site and remove free sites like the Nexus as competition. Consider what would happen if they did this. Most modders would quit modding - this would reduce NEW content on free sites considerably. It would also encourage those modders remaining, to put their work behind the pay wall - to reimburse at least the cost of using the CK. Personally - I've just copied all my 'free to use for now' CK files and backed them up. I sincerely recommend any other modders to do the same. -
You're second script should be correct, however having your stage 0 marked as the 'start-up' stage, you may need to progress the quest to stage 10 OnRead(). Try that and let me know if it fixes it for you.

Personally ... I just wander Skyrim, have one nice home and explore without doing any 'quests'. I bought the deluxe and legendary games with the maps showing every location in the game - I have been playing since the game came out and have not yet found every location - not even close. -- I don't refer to the map at all. For me, this keeps the game fresh. I stumble on places (some in the weirdest locations) all the time and never know what I'll run into, or find. The quests have a beginning, middle and end ... I want to 'live' in Skyrim, wander through the wilderness (no followers) and explore every nook and cranny. If I get a bit bored with that, I make myself a mod that offers something different to serve my wanderings better such as specialty merchants or different skill trainers. Or peruse the nexus for an interesting mod. There is also hope that the project 'Beyond Skyrim' will be completed in my lifetime, and I would love to explore all of Tamriel in the 4th Era and how it may have changed :) I think the ONE biggest thing that keeps me in Skyrim - is the quality of the graphics - I can pretend I'm really there; when I'm in my shower bathing - I actually sigh, and relax as I get 'cleaned up' after a long day of mucking about in a smelly dungeon. But that's just me :) -

Which version of Serenity are you using? If you are using an older version (that was removed) - that could be causing your CTD. I would first suggest you re-download the available 1.1. Then go into your skyrim \ data \ scripts folder and deleting the TravelScript.pex and delete the Serenity.esp from your data directory. Then re-install the new download manually, by putting the Serenity.esp Serenity.bsa into your skyrim \ data directory and putting the TravelScript.pex directly into your skyrim \ data \ scripts folder. Let me know if this helps. P.S. All passengers (followers and horses) must be within the cabin in order to travel with the ship. There are mods that you can use to 'call your followers - or horse' that you can use if you wish them to stay on the deck while travelling. -
Ummm can't you just go into your site preferences and set the 'File reminder notice' to 'never' ? Then it won't ask you if you want to endorse any of those mods anymore? I could be confused about what you're asking though ... I certainly don't want to contradict the site owner of all people, so maybe ask what that option does - because I never get 'reminders' to endorse mods I've downloaded at all.

A user was able to display Chinese characters in a post on my mod site - however, I cannot respond in Chinese as the post errors when I try. I do know that setting the post tag with 'accept-charset="GB18030" should allow the characters to be used .. but cannot 'add attribute to the post tag. So, is there something I have to do or change in order to display Chinese characters in my posts? Any help would be appreciated! Sincerely, LeianneG

Maybe check the permissions on the script folder - then check the permissions on the script itself, then maybe try installing the mods with Admin access enabled. Just a few thoughts. -

kitty ... you're an angel. You've got kids under 15 to look after, make dinner for - and generally enjoy their company :) I know I loved visiting with my kids before they grew up, and it happens so fast. My girls are 33 and 26 respectively - I appreciate your efforts SO much, but I don't know what items fallout and skyrim have in common, and I've worn myself out trying different things today ... I think I tried everything, including removing every other item from that room with the shower. The ultimate test was when I NEVER activated the shower - I could run in and out like a madwoman, and it never CTD'd ... but as soon as I activated the shower once, and left the home, then tried to go back in - CTD. I'm going to call this one .... white flag for the time being ... it's 8:13 pm, and I haven't even had breakfast today, I've been so wrapped up in this. Again ... I just can't thank you enough! You go enjoy your kids - and I'll tackle this again one of these days :) Hugs, and thanks!!! Leianne -

OMG you're wonderful!!!!!!!!!! Maybe I'll stick to coffee for the time being <grin> Well I got an account on the papyrus page, and submitted my issue as best I could on a 'page'. Not sure if that's where it should go. The biggest problem here is the enable disable functions - doesn't have to be a shower, if I write one little script - with ONE item to disable/enable in that house - it CTD's. I just don't understand. I REALLY REALLY appreciate all you're doing for me - you are a sweetheart!!! -

Well ... I can't give up. I'm Irish, and this has plagued me for the last year. The very first mod I made, had an add-on room that sported 90 portraits of 10 different races - 9 family portraits for each race. My script determined what race the player was - if it was a custom race, I built a custom menu to choose the most appropriate approximation, and the room enabled only the 9 portraits (or mix of portraits) that would complement the player's chosen race. That was two years ago - and when I created a shower for that room, I had exactly the same problem I'm having now. I thought it was maybe a bit too much two years ago, to have in one room - so I dumped the on/off option for the shower and never had a problem. This time, I'm not so willing to give up what I've created to settle for a damn shower that MUST run all the time. Last year I created a mod where the player found the body of his/her aunt, my script determined what gender/race the player was an altered ALL quest info based on that - as well the player meets his/her father - kills the bad guy - dad dies, was poisoned by the bad guy and the player is rewarded with a house where the shower DOES turn on/off without fail ... and that house has three stories to it, adaptation for 6 kids (available by compatibility with another mod) and a ton of stuff in it .... even shelf items that are replaced by static stuff when the player takes the movable items off the shelf!!! No empty shelves! OMG and a table that sets itself whenever anyone sits at it - and removes all the settings/ food / drink when no one is at the table ..... You would think I could get this freaking thing to work - or at least figure out WHY it's not working!!!!!
