  1. FYI he was denied a weapons permit in Texas and bought his rifles in Colorado. If there had not been a legally owned weapon held by the neighbor across the street the death toll would have been higher. Unarmed civilians have another title...deceased victims.
  2. My guess is that it would give Kim a 'Launch or Lose By Date', since I do not trust the Chinese to keep that a secret. I would prefer that the NK would not have that little of gem of intel. If we have to go to war, my preference is that the NK's first awareness comes when the command decapitation air strikes occur. War is coming IMO, the only conjecture is the operational date.
  3. You would indeed be in "deep doodoo" not only with the Authorities, but with the other party who, if they found out that you did it (and they probably would), would retaliate. This would cause you to retaliate ad infinitum until someone crossed the line and hurt or killed somebody. Press your Elected Officials. That's what they get paid for. Also get the license numbers and vehicle descriptions as has been suggested. There is power in information. The Rabbit If the locals will not assist you with this issue have you considered the State Police? They generally have a lower tolerance for excessive moving violations, especially in an area with small children running about. If all else fails, Caltrops are easy to make and are quite effective.
  4. There is an upper limit to how many mods Witcher 3 can run, however I'm running 65 at the moment. Depends on how many game wide high res texture mods you use , which can drastically lower the limit. I have in the past had to subtract one or two comprehensive texture mods to get a smooth running game. Last but not least the game gobbles vram and ram, so you need good system specs.
  5. The facts are correct whether it's unbiased..well I'll leave that up to the viewer. There is of course a difference between the US winning the conflict and the probable catastrophic consequences for the civilians living on the peninsula.
  6. Yeah, generators are pretty popular here too... Though in the five years I have lived here, I think the longest I have been without power was about 3 hours one day after an ice storm. Jury is still out on just how much of an effect EMP will have on various computerized engine controls...... cars/small engines just don't have the long wire runs to act as an antenna for the EMP....... So, maybe they will still work, maybe they won't. Just a thought for you to mull on. Your and my generator that is natural gas powered will provide electricity IF there is natural gas in the pipeline. Once the main electrical grid is down what will power the pumping stations and sub stations?
  7. Since one's personalty is formed in direct relationship with one's experiences and all experiences are stored with your neurons, I'll go along with the position the the brain is the physical manifestation of one's personality..where it goes so goes the persona.
  8. They provided not some but most of the munitions to put 57,000+ of our kids to death in Vietnam. Nixon's response was to send Henry Kissinger to China to "open the gate" to the killers of our own children. The Russians had combat pilots in the Korean war and the Chinese had theirs in Vietnam. Most of us in country knew it.
  9. Tell ya a story. A little over a decade ago there was this Chinese family who was a bit lost in my city , their 2 daughters were going to be going to my local University , anyway I helped them get unlost , later that night they showed up at my house bearing gifts (Chinese custom when someone helps you out). So he starts showing me what he does for a living , he's a President of a division of some food comglomerate , I ask how big of a company and he says well we usually sell in excess of 600 million yogurt and I say 600 million yogurt a year in surprise and he says no per month. (they sell other stuff too). Anyway he is showing me all these pictures of his company and in these pictures there are images of him and people like the Prime Minister of Japan and other world leaders. So I'm like who the hell have I got in my house here , then I thought betcha he knows some of the inner thinking of Chinese political leaders , tried talking about Tianamen Square , whole family was ooh no we don't talk about that , but on NK they were a little more open. And it seems they saw NK as problematic , but if SK took over NK they fully well expected the US would try to set up military bases along the border with China and that was highly disliked in China. The only way you could get the Chinese to cooperate on NK is if they had a garantee there would be no American presence on the Korean pennisula. I told him well if you dont do something about it and work out a deal with the Americans , they could become a problem for you in the future and sure enough they have. I wonder if he is now in China somewhere thinking Jeez he was right. If the PRC would guarantee the sovereignty of a unified Korea there would be no necessity to maintain anything more than the minimum troop levels required by SEATO ( a 90% draw down from current levels).
  10. Nation building? Hell, I just want to get through the actual war without having the largest civilian body count since 1944. Winter is coming....
  11. The only difference between the former USSR's geopolitical ambitions and Putin's vision for a 'restored' Russia are the flag's colors. If you doubt that assertion ask any Ukrainian, Lithuanian, Finn or Pole how safe they feel about their territorial integrity currently. Putin is the single best argument for the strengthening NATO that I can think of.
  12. I empathize, suggest you buy the dye set for your caliber and a good loading press with a reasonable brass tumbler so as to recycle as much brass as possible. Even without governmental interference the price of ammunition has become ridiculous in the last ten years. As for powder...road trip to Colorado where they still believe in the 2nd Amendment. Since I use 30-40 for my 1899 Kraig, I went that route ages ago when the price of a box passed $40.
  13. And that's a relatively recent phenomenon..... Started in the last decade. I don't recall any constitutional conventions that added the 'right to never be exposed to something you may find offensive'......... Our society is in serious decline.... The cops in Portland Oregon are going to no longer refer to gang members, as 'gang members'..... as it hurts their employability when they get out of prison....... We are going to 'politically correct' ourselves into our graves. You mean "former inmate" would not hurt their employment chances as well? But I completely agree with you here. Suppose that depends on what job they are applying for. Although, I don't see too many ads for "thugs" or "enforcers" in the local paper.... not even in the detroit paper. :D I used to think that the US was in an equivalent stage of 3rd century Rome...beginning the decline but now I believe we are more akin to the 4th century .....just before the Visigoths finished what internal civil discord started.
  14. As a mod author I mod primarily for myself, then for the community. I feel responsible to update the mod only if the game engine itself is updated and my work no longer functions as it should. However demands that I update something specifically for a particular user's aesthetic tastes fall on deaf ears. Polite requests are far more likely to engender a positive response..meaning I'll consider it, if it's a change that I would want in my own game and it's feasible.
  15. Except for one annoying little detail that keeps tickling the back of my mind. In America, the people are the government. It says so right here on the label. What it says on the label, and what's actually in the bottle, are two entirely different things. "The people" haven't counted much to the government for quite some time now. I agree in principle with PA...but practice and theory are distinctly separate realities. Out of the 535 people we have sent to Congress how many would one estimate are there for altruistic purposes? Given the constant flow of federal indictments for corruption / malfeasance every year since I can recall. My bet is that, there is a comfortable minority that went to DC to line their pockets rather than serve the nation. So in that sense I agree with HY's deep skepticism about who runs the country.
  16. The one question I would pose is that after mechanical augmentation and biological enhancement at what percentage point of the process are we no longer Homo Sapiens but something altogether different? The one thing I have noted over the years is that you can't put the genie back in the bottle once released.
  17. Strangely appropriate.....all concidering
  18. I took the path that is ritualistic, off from spanking a brutish bully who needs one, because they're playing with the minds of people here who try and keep as civilized as possible. Even I know I am not perfect, but I pay attention when I am being approached by an attacker and ready myself with the powers of my mind to deal with them. I concede the moral high ground to you my friend, I'm just a pragmatist. I do hope you're okay. Calling me friend in the tone you did suggests a minor slippage in your thinking. Maybe you might consider adjusting your Cognac and Cuban cigar diet a twitch and reassure your self you're not poisoning your self with too much of some and not enough of the other in your consumption before continuing to pray with your text on topics here, anymore. I surely hope you haven't been mixing rot gut and marijuana in your diet. Two items made in prison by friends in a modern porcelain toilet bowl and the other to try to get into the smoking class in prison was a poisonous weed. Hence the name for their hand rolled smokes, came from another term for prison's, "The Joint." I could send you a link to a document that could help you discern whether or not you're keeping a good balanced diet. I do not judge anyone from above them in any way. I am still laughing at the interpretive assumptions that you made by the colloquial use of 'my friend. The way you assembled that precarious conclusion from just two words is truly droll.

  20. Unless one feels that the accusation is a stain on your sterling reputation , ignore the nimrod and move along. One can fix anything in life but stupidity, so trying is to change the mind of idiot is sort of sisaphian exercise. It is of course a violation of the TOS to send berating or abusing PM's..which is report worthy. However blocking someone's PM's who is shall we say unhinged is really the easiest path..no muss no fuss..they are gone from your life.
  21. @Gandolf If you want to debate, then present logically your countervailing thesis. So far I have seen precious little of that in your posts. One liners followed by whatever it is that you deem clever imagery is simply boring and belongs in the Lounge, not here.
  22. It seems that some have learned nothing, though I had a mild hope that the experience of Coventry would have had some ameliorative effect, evidently not .
  23. We going down that rabbit hole again? I could spend time proving it and you will spend time calling me a racist....so lets skip a step and consider it already done.
  24. http://bestanimations.com/Holidays/Fireworks/4thofjuly/happy-4th-of-july-elegant-white-fireworks-gif-picture.gif+ I wish all my fellow countrymen a happy 4th and a belated July 1st to our northern neighbors in Canada. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-jrYKkoyDd4Y/T-zxYSoJIYI/AAAAAAAAP9g/VYJSjS0UveU/s400/canada.gif
