  1. Been I while since I posted on the forums, but I picked up the following: Octodad: Dadliest Catch Prision Architect E.Y.E. Risk of Rain Papers, Please Payday 2 (Big Bank DLC) Castle Crashers DLC's FO3 GOTY (For TTW with New Vegas) Super Amazing Wagon Adventure Space Engineers Grim Dawn Eventually I plan on playing these games, but I still have a backlog of games to play from last year (Just broke the 250+ games 'achievement' )
  2. http://sharesend.com/tznlqnyb Give this a try, it should work fine. I don't do a lot with models so if for some reason it doesn't work in game someone else may have to help you out  .
  3. The framerate is about right. The cpu is clocked very low (Skyrim being a console game is very CPU dependant) and the gpu in you laptop is an integrated card which isn't really designed for gaming. The laptop is more of a business/general use laptop. There only thing you could do to increase framerate would be to futher lower settings/resolution. *didn't notice your post was a double-post and has already been answered*
  4. Well, I fixed the model so I can finally return to the game  I will upload it on the off chance that there are others using vanilla bodies who get really picky about stuff like that. Thanks for both of your help! it can be found here: http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/55772/?
  5. Ahh, figured as much. Believe it or not, I already had that page bookmarked  . Thanks for the confirmation on what has to be done nivea (It may take me a while, I havn't played with any 3D modelling programs in a long time), and thanks for telling me how to fix the head problem senterpat. I tried to give you kudos (nivea) but appearently I already did in the past.
  6. Thanks for the response, + kudos. The head problem is fixed (it was using sectioncap_head instead of torsocap_head in the appropriate field) but... in fixing one problem I came across another. female - MeatCapBody:0 13 bones 4 partitions male - MeatCapBody:0 12 bones (I don't think the bones are a problem, but the partitions are) 3 partitions -> BP_TORSOCAP_LEFTLEG is missing which explains why both zones show up at once, or if the left leg is severed first no cap is applied. Thanks again for the help. By any chance could I get a few pointers to get through this problem. I added the correctly named extra partiton (in the areas where it had 3 instead of 4) but I am not sure what to do next to actually get it to use the 4th partition. I am pretty sure it is through the: NiTriShape(MeatCapBody:0)-> BSDismemberSkinInstance-> NiSkinPartition-- added a 4th partition but the values are probably given to the mesh when it was exported so it isn't realistic go change all the fields under this section to match.
  7. The vanilla male memphis kid outfit (found on 'king' gang-members) isn't rendering the head meatcap (arms+legs work fine) when dismemberment occurs and I can't for the life of me figure out why. When I open the mesh in NifSkope and go to; BSDismemberSkinInstance->Partitions->Partitions-Part Flag it has Editor Visible unchecked and start Net Boneset checked like it should. Also if I check editor visible to true it shows up in game properly (while actor is alive, expected, which I just tested to make sure it 'worked'). I have checked with a friend also to make sure this specific bug isn't local to my game only. I can't seem to find any threads discussing this specific topic.By any chance does anyone know why this specific meat cap will not render on the memphis kid outfit?
  8. If you computer is up for 4k textures and you actually notice an improvement than go for it. A well made 2k texture is much better looking than a poorly made 4k texture so the asthetics are really all that matters.
  9. I had a really good laugh from the Toy Yoda. I can just imagine how much the person who presented that to the woman instead of the car would be laughing .
  10. No problem  And yes, some of the recent mobile i5's are just like the mobile i7's. They even have all the same bells and whistles. Just make sure you do a comparison first. And the main thing to look at is the graphics card in the laptop. That will be the limiting factor whether you can play games at visually nice settings a few years down the road. ____________ Also gaming laptops need to be cleaned out often. Dust seems to materialize in mine so I clean it with compressed gas duster every couple of weeks and open it up for a good cleaning a few times a year.
  11. With that budget I would highly recommend a mini desktop. Gaming laptops are extremely budget unfriendly, even mid-ish ranged ones (which are like lower mid ranged desktops) will likely run you over $1200 if you can find a store to pick it up to avoid shipping. For that price you could put togeather a nice desktop capable of playing just about any game on very high settings, and every one on your list at ultra. If you must get a laptop the main brands are Alienware, Sager/Clevo, MSI, Asus. I have an m18x (r1-initial release) but it cost me a lot (two flagship cards+ an aftermarket 480GB ssd). Though I do really enjoy it and the build quality is exceptional I cannot comment on any of the lower models from experience. I also actually had to buy a laptop (college+lots of travelling around) which is why I went with the desktop replacement model. Sager is probably your best bet if you can find a good reseller. MSI make some good laptops also, but the price and build quality jump around a bit depending on the model so you would have to read up on them. Asus normally make ones with mid ranged graphics cards which makes it good for a mix of performance and mobility. If you want to be able to pick one up from a store you can usually find MSI's or Asus laptops. __________________________________________________ When purchasing a laptop for games you you will want to get at leat this: cpu: intel i7 processor (any i7 should be fine if you only plan on playing games) gpu: AMD- newer than the 5xxx series and with at least an X870m model (nothing lower than a 5870m, and no newer card with lower than x870 as the prefix)- lower mobile amd cards performance is not so great. Nvidia- at least a 560m (nothing lower than x55m prefix, so 655m or higher) hdd: avoid any 5400rpm drive. 7200 at least, a new ssd would be best but not budget friendly (the samsung 840's are very good). Try to get a hybrid for a good price or else just stick with a 7200rpm. memory: 6gb ram or greater. 4GB is pushing it a bit these days with games as well as Windows. Not much of a point paying extra for more than 8gb as you will not use it in a laptop. it is rare for the wifi adapter to be a problem these days, try for a 1920x1080p screen if you can.
  12. I hope it works out for you. If anything is unclear feel free to ask and I will try to help you out further.
  13. Have you tried verifying integrity of game files to see if it re-adds it? If that doesn't work try moving your skyrim folder to a safe location outisde of your steam folder (or add a random character(s) to it, for example skyrim_old) and let steam install skyrim with all dlc's. Copy the dragonborn esp/bsa into your old skyrim folder and put it back in its place with the correct name (if you chose to change it instead of move it elsewhere). If you own it than steam should download it each time you install skyrim, no need to buy the already overpriced dlc again  . Next time back up all of your Skyrim dlc BSA and esp files somewhere so you don't need to download them again.
  14. That is odd that you are getting flickering without two graphics cards. Are all of you other games fine? I am currently using AMD's 13.11 Beta 7 drivers (beta 8 is out now). They have been pretty good so far and I havn't noticed any frame drops or visual artifacts in my games but I am using x2 6970's so the drivers may give you different results. Some of the older drivers (I think most in the 12 series and early 13 series) provided very poor results so make sure your drivers are actually up to date. Also make sure you are using notebook/mobility drivers because some of the older drivers only had desktop versions which would still mostly work fine with laptops.
  15. It sounds like a crossfire bug to me. By chance do you have multiple cards in a amd crossfire or nvidia sli setup? I am not sure if anything changed recently but I don't think crossfire works unless you are in full screen so when you go windowed mode you will only have one card rendering the game instead of one both cards with one skipping shadows or rendering it incorrectly. What drivers are you using?
  16. For the enb just do as archeyreece said and check for the d3d9.dll. If it isn't there you don't have to worry. If you want to remove the rest of enb: files include anything with enb in the name, possibly enbhost and maybe SweetFX files I would back up your skyrim ini files in a folder and let the game create new ones with default values. That will allow you to eliminate those as the culprit. Once you have the issue sorted out you can put your old ones back. If the low fps still persists than I would start looking into what possible objects in game may be causing it. Look directly at the ground to see if you hit 60fps and start looking at certain objects such as water or high density particle areas and see the change in fps from interior to exterior. It sounds a bit out there but I had a leftover file from WATER when trying water two and a single mesh caused my fps to drop by about 50% whenever I was around water.
  17. Are you running enb series? If not this doesn't apply. If so make sure that the following under limiter is disabled in the enblocal file. If you want it to be limited set it to true and change it to 60 or something: [LIMITER] EnableFPSLimit=false _________________ (if true) FPSLimit=60.0 Other than that I am not sure what would be causing you to run at 30fps.
  18. Who is going to spend time making mods for consoles? Few game developers on the PC ever openly support it with tools and I can't see many people transfering back and forth between their PC and console to see if it worked correctly (current console mod method) or buying dev kits. I am happy for what the next gen consoles bring to the PC but I can't see any notable mods happening (especially with how strict the files would have to be).
  19. The fact that any program recognizes it as a mouse instead of a controller is neat for compatibility reasons, though I will stick with the good ol' keyboard+mouse combo. I hope everything goes will for valve but the controller was a disappointment to me. I was really hoping they would have a plethora of games being announced and developed on their brand new source engine 2  (wishful thinking).
  20. Framerate hardly matters (within reason), though I personally like to keep it above 60 myself due to mouse imput lag and crossfire micro stuttering at lower frame rates. Frame pacing is what you should be concerned about. An additional 10 fps will do nothing for you if you have 80ms delivery time spikes. And back to the topic; lloydmaster122I don't think it would be with while for you to upgrade this year. A GTX 780m would be the only worth while Nvidia upgrade (laptops don't often have the support to switch manufacturer) and that would run you between $600-900 (probably about $750USD). There is only one generation between your card and the 780m, so even though there is a significant performace difference you would be better off tweaking the settings, keeping you laptop clean for temp reasons, updating your video drivers and maybe doing a clean install on Skyrim for the off chance that old mod files are messing with things because a 660m should be able to handle high settings in almost every game. Maybe when Nvidia releases its 9XXm series it would be good for you to check out in a year and a half or so.
  21. Since Max Payne 3 was around 14GB on console and 29GB on PC, GTA V will probably be a 35GB download when it comes out. I think I may have to purchase the disc on account of a lack of fiber optic internet in my area  . All the gameplay and talk about it is making it very hard to wait.
  22. I will wait for the PC version. They have released 1-4, SA and VC on PC so I don't see why 5 would be any different. They also did wonders with Max Payne 3 on the PC so I have high hopes for it not to end up like GTA IV.
  23. Alienware and Sager/Clevo laptops are not bad for changing hardware. If you called dell or maybe a company like eurocom they would give you a quote on the replacement card. Mobile cards have very specific heat sinks so make sure you do some research whether it will fit or not, and don't forget to pick up some thermal paste because you probably will not want to take it apart a second time. Also, there is really no point in upgrading a laptop card every generation. They cost a LOT more than desktop cards and a 660m will let you still play most games on high settings. I would try compairing a 3d mark or unigine benchmark to others that people have to see if you card is underperforming. If it is run a program like hwinfo64 to check your temps (under 80*C under load isn't a concern for a laptop). Also make sure you clean out the fans often with computer duster or something.
  24. We are on Garry's Mod 13  (14 is on the way) That is what I think makes it great. For whatever price was paid there is near unlimited content, a good multiplayer system and a lifetime of free updates.
