  1. When it comes to navmesh, i was curious about the size/number of triangles. For example, in a big square empty room, the whole floor space could be covered by 2 big triangles, or lots of smaller ones, does this make a difference? is there a so called 'good practice' when it comes to navmeshing? Thanks
  2. Very helpful thanks, I checked out the dunwich building and capitol building and saw the markers, I have also experienced objects disappearing when dropped/moved before, but never knew why. Also, i know its completely unrelated and very random, but i recently experienced the bug in the pitt dlc where you fall through the roof in the steelyard, and saw that it is to do with having point lookout, the bug itself is not the issue but i am very confused as to why it occurs. Are you able to shed any light on this? Thanks
  3. Hi, Just curious about something, In the geck tutorial it talks about room boundaries, portals etc and while i understand the reasoning behind it, when i look thorugh existing interior cells in the geck, i cant seem to find any cases where they have been used. (I have checked they are shown in the show/hide menu) Are they really necessary, or should they only be used in certain circumstances, like depending on a cells size, content?
  4. Thanks for the input, i didnt mention in my first post but i use windows xp, which i understand can only use 3.25gb ram anyway, also that link is not compatible. Could this be a cause? I suppose i need to get with the times. If i was to go for a cpu upgrade, can you recommend anything? money is not major problem, although lets not overkill. I appreciate all the help.
  5. Hi, I was hoping somebody may be able to give me some advice. I dont really know much about computers and thier parts, my brother used to handle it all, but he is away at uni. I recently upgraded my graphics card from ati radeon 4890 to nvidia gtx 770 (which my brother assured me was a good move) but i havent noticed too much improvement, in fact fallout new vegas started to completly lock up from time to time requiring a total reboot. I also recently tried enhanced weather mod for FO3, and had a noticable performance drop during rain. All of the drivers are installed and up to date. I am considering reverting back to the radeon but am curious if maybe something else is holding me back. My specs are: AMD Phenom II x4 955 processor 3.21ghz, 3.25gb ram motherboard 790fx-gd70 psu enermax revolution 85+ gpu gtx 770 if that means anything to anyone, does anything in particular stand out? Thanks in advance
  6. Does anyone know of any mods that add new places/fills in existing areas, along the same lines as the interiors project?
  7. Hi, just a quick question about PN, i know it is similar to FWE in that it adds some new things to the game, but does anyone know if it add a portable bed?
  8. Perfect, i really appreciate your help, thanks.
  9. I am in the middle of trying to create a new place, and have made a few 'new' static objects. I have used existing meshes, extracted from bsa archive, into my meshes folder and in game it all works. However i have alot of extra nif files in my folder and if i move them anywhere else then i am left with exclamation marks. For example i have the mini nuke (enlarged) and also the army truck as static objects. Is there a way for the game to access these meshes for these static objects without needing the nif files loose in the mesh folder? Hope that makes sense, thanks in advance.
  10. One thing i have noticed is that power armour really doesnt seem as formidable as lore would have us believe. I use FWE which does go someway toward fixing this, but would it be possible for some NPCs to have armour and weapons at 100% condition. Specifically the Enclave, as they are supposed to be the biggest threat encountered, with the most advanced tech, but they go down far too easily. I want fights against power armoured enemies to really stand out. Power armour was supposed to make a soldier a walking tank after all. With FWE enclave trooper armour is at about 45 out of 75 DR, so they could be significanlty more of a threat.
  11. That looks pretty good, although ideally i would like something that only affects night time. Does anyone have any experiences with this mod? I can imagine it might cause performance issues.
  12. Sorted - After looking at the readme files of the mods i have, it seems it was caused by the streetlights mod, for some reason this must be before BS in the load order.
  13. I have just started Broken Steel with Wanderers Edition for the first time and it seems that the water by project purity is still irradiated. Does anybody know if this is a known issue, or is it something i may have done?
  14. Interesting thought, although i dont believe any of the developers shared this idea. The F.E.V was intended to bring about physical changes to make soldiers bigger, stronger, smarter and resistant to damage, whereas in fallout you can make your character weak, dumb and frail. Various sources about F.E.V in the games describe what was intended, although your point about the virus mutating is valid, this is also taken into account and explained by the Lieutenant in the original fallout, who also happened to be the epitome of super mutants. If you haven't seen it there is a vid - - where you can find some good info about this stuff.
  15. Can anyone recommend any mods that make nights darker? I have been using Fellout, and although the nights are good, i dont really like the other changes this mod makes. I have also tried Dark Nights beta, but this mod only affected the wasteland, not the DC areas.
  16. Does anyone know where Wanda, the unique assault rifle, is located in FWE? I have searched the entire wasteland yet it still eludes me. I know it is in game somewhere as i have used console commands to try it out.
  17. I have recently used the Geck to create a Vault, however when I test it in game, the game just freezes up. Sometimes it happens after a few seconds, other times I can run about a bit longer, but it always happens eventually. I have not yet connected the area to the Wasteland and am using the COC command to get in. I have no freezing problems with the rest of the game, so I assume I must have done something wrong when making the cell. Any help or ideas would be very much appreciated. Thanks
  18. Fallout Wanderers edition is probably one of the best, a complete overhaul of many aspects, like survival, combat, realism. etc. Also it has an easy to use menu to customise all of these settings to get something that really suits you. It seems a bit daunting at first but it is quite simple really. I also personally like Fellout, mainly for the dark nights, and realistic interior lighting (wanderers edition has nightvision mod). Street lights mod also goes well with this. DC interior project is also good as it adds more places to explore in the dc ruins (shops, apartments) instead of ujst endless lines of boarded up buildings. I hope this is useful to you, using these mods myself made the game infinitly more enjoyable.
  19. Hi, would anyone know where to find the sound fx files for the vanilla weapons, specifically the sawed off shotgun. I have Wanderers installed and can only seem to find the files of the new weapons this adds in the data/sound/fx folder. I ask because i am trying to use one of these new sounds to replace the current one to give the weapon a more satisfying bang. Thanks
