  1. I HIGHLY suggest you get Wyre and create bashed patches, you don't need ANY skills, it takes all of 2 minutes to create the patch from your load list. What a bashpatch does is merge overlapping things automatically which gives you a cleaner modded game. Took me about 30 min of reading when I first started with skyrim to figure out Wrye, which I only use for patches since I use NMM and LOOT for everything else Oh I see, so basically it merges .esm and/or .bsa files that are compatible to keep the load list small. Say like I could merge all my armour mods into one file and the same with the Weapons? Correct me if I'm wrong, but if that's what you mean then I'll take a look as it would certainly make using the CK a lot easier for editting content. Thanks for the advice I appreciate it. MS.
  2. @deRusett Unfortunatly I'm not a content creator, I can make Standalone Followers and Edit the Values for items in the game and that's about it. Yeah I had issues with 2 different Hunting Mods but they were basically doing the same thing or very similar things. I actually don't use Wrye or any Mod Organiser other then NMM since it does what I need it to do. Loading Mods in the correct order isn't exactly rocket science. I have absolutly no idea what a Bash Patch is so sorry I don't. @Bloomslangity This isn't a request for a mod though? It was simply a discussion about my gameplay experience, the whole patching Tytanis thing was for my own benfit. The conversation simply deviated this way because notmyhome mentioned others might like an item rebalance patch, till the official Mod Author releases his "Big Update" to fix/add features. Sorry for the confusion. MS.
  3. I'm new to all of this, but it should be easy enough to use the CK to balance the prices and weights of items. What changes were you looking for, for Tytanis exactly? If I'm able I'll make the changes though I'm not entirely sure if I'll be allowed to upload the modifications to the Nexus given that I don't own Tytanis or have permission to make changes. That's why I was doing it for personal use, but if people want the files when I'm done editting them I don't mind sharing. MS.
  4. Oh wow, Hey notmyhome and Thanks again. You seem to be helping me a lot lately, I appreciate it. MS.
  5. Hey Guys & Gals, So I'm enjoying my play through with Frostfall & Realistic Needs & Diseases installed and I'm now at a stage where I want to build a Semi-Permenent camp. I play a Hunter so food isn't a problem, but clean, safe water is. Where in Skyrim can I find a Spring Water source that I could camp next to? Thanks in advance for the help. MS.
  6. Yeah I've got Frostfall installed already. I'm glad you're interested in playing the game the same way. I'm currently using the CK to change a lot of aspects in the game to suit a hunters needs. Better selling prices on Pelts and more expensive apocrathy supplies to make poisons to kill your mark faster etc etc. While doing this I noticed I have mods installed that add new items too so I'm also creating patches for those. Skyrim Immersive Creatures, Frostfall, Tytanis (Farming Standalone). I'm starting to think that I may just go through the entire game and redo everything that can be bought and sold. Weight is a massive issue and Prices just aren't up to par. If any of you are interested in the Patches I make I can send you the esms or upload them to the Nexus if I'm allowed. I promise to keep everything balanced.
  7. No problem, did it solve the issue? After going through your Mod List again I also had issues with SMIM. I think it was conflicting with something else as sometimes the textures would flicker back and forth on static objects and eventually it would speed up and CTD. Have you noticed anything like that? MS.
  8. Thanks I'll take a look. I need to change the Exterior Appearance of Skyhaven Temple as well since it was ment to be way bigger then it currently is. I think there was already supposed to be a feature for upgrading the temple in the game and the devs abandoned it. I'm not entirely sure, but I definatly get that feeling. Anyway onwards and upwards Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it. MS.
  9. Try this: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/54509/? It's probably not precisely what you want, but close. I actually have that installed :D It's the closest thing to having a party and it gives each play through a really good feel because I can RP each character to fit a specific role on my next play through.
  10. Hey Guys & Gals, So can someone make a small mod for a Recipes Book? So It starts of as a Blank Empty Book and as you read recipes The Book fills with them? I've got the Dragonborn Journal Mod installed and I think it would be cool to have the recipes in a similar book so I'm not stuck carrying loads of little recipes. Granted they weigh nothing, but sorting through them is a real pain and I'd gladly trade off 1 or 2 carryweight for an overall neater system. The second part of the request is can any make a page mod? So I can read a book like said Recipe Book and then skip to a page that I want. Or even something similar to the SkyUI Search Bar would be acceptable. Where I could Type in a Recipe Name and it'll skip to that Page. I know creating this mod is harder then it seems considering the alternative is just carrying a lot of pieces of paper, but I think it would add a degree of Immersion that the game lacks. I mean come on, you go to your grandmothers house and she doesn't have loads of bits of paper with recipes, she probably puts them all together in a book of folder. It's the same kind of thing. Thanks for reading. MS.
  11. Hey Guys & Gals, So I posted a Mod Request fro Skyhaven Temple and figured I'd give it ago myself as nobody else seems interested in undertaking such a task. Can anyone give me some advice at how I would go about creating a purchase option (sort like the way you upgrade Breezehome) that when bought it changes something in the Vanilla Game? You see I plan to create 3 or 4 versions of Skyhaven Temple and the player buys them incrementally and as they are purchased your additions take effect. This is probably going to take a while, but if people can give advice and pointers to push me in the right direction, I'll attempt to get this done and released as soon as possible. MS.
  12. Actually the Tundra Defence Mod has really brought my game forward I must admit so thanks for that Dennis. I'm currently reinstalling Skyrim so I can make a backup of Vanilla Skyrim. I'm going to use the CK to make a lot of the changes I wanted from the Hunters Mods I've installed as I can't install more then one for the features I wanted. Tundra Defence takes care of the building my own settlement and the other mod for building your own home anywhere is going to be used to build kind of "outposts" through out Skyrim. MS.
  13. Hey Dennis20014, I dunno if I should be taking your post as sarcasm or not lol. However I seem to have completely overlooked the Tundra Defence Mod so thanks for pointing that out. I've already played the Hunting Guild Mod and It conflicts with another mod I have installed hence why I don't personally use it. The Mixed Tactics mods seems really interesting and I will give it a look, though I'm not entirely sure it's going to what I was aiming for. So all in all cheers dude. MS.
  14. Haha you got me xD Honestly I suck at being vague lol EDIT: Well at least everyone will have Unknowns surprise to look forward too.
  15. Now you're getting it. The characters have a secret that I haven't revealed because I didn't want to spoilt it, but you've definatly got the right idea. I was planning on adding new things to the game, but my experience with the CK is very limited and adding in too much too quick will kill this little project of mine before it's even begun. Hopefully others will post and give ideas or even offers of help in areas I'm not knowledgeable. At the moment I'm focusing on getting the Characters done and putting up some screenshots of what they'll look like. As for the mod and the Quest I'm going to try and reuse some Vanilla areas (mainly because of my lack of knowledge), Then when I'm able I'll add in some new areas and such. Thanks for the advice and the confidence boost, I appreciate it. MS.
  16. The plot ties in with main storyline of stopping Alduin. Bare in mind that on my game Alduin is extremely difficult, I play on Legendary and I have the mod that makes the Alduin fight even harder. I have made my Skyrim near enough impossible to play solo, hence the reason for the NPCs, but the original ones got a little stale. The plot honestly is little more then an expansion from the main quest of the game and the side quests for each of the characters enables you to learn a bit more about the individual characters. I just didn't want to plant some random NPCs in the game and have them say "Oh yeah I'll follow you" so I'm creating the granted small storyline change to give them a reason to exsist. It's then upto the player if they want to learn more about the individual characters. If it is well received then I'll pull the voice actors back in and release some extra voice packs that players can download to keep the dialogue fresh when travelling.
  17. Hey Guys & Gals, So I've been messing around with CK for a few hours and I'm considering making a quest mod. It was going to be for my own benefit, but since I'm a member on the Nexus I figured I'll ask for some feedback regarding my storyline and see if people are interested in giving it ago. I've created countless Playable Characters and as I attempted to play Skyrim with each of them I started creating my own backstories in my head and eventually put the ideas down on paper. All responses are welcome as I'd like as much feedback as possible. Bare a few things in mind when reading what's to follow, firstly I like to play Skyrim with a sense of realism and on harder difficulties. Secondly I'm trying to keep it as lore friendly as possible and while certain aspects may not be fully lore friendly or completely discussed, I've taken a lot into consideration. Also this mod is going to be reliant on other mods even though I may not mention them here (Apachaii Sky Hair, UFO etc etc). So I've created 6 characters that are going to full fill the roles of the NPCs (these are my PCs) I'll give you a quick rundown for them. I have added images to the characters so I've used colours in the text to highlight there details so you know what's details and what's Image description. Ki Shuya - Male - Imperial - 2 Handed Sword - Werewolf Jay Donnachaidh - Male - Nord - Imperial - Dual Wield Swords - Werewolf Aria Ashwood - Female - Wood Elf - Restoration Mage - Staff (Aria Ashwood from the front wearing Stendarr gear - This is not her default equipment) Matriach Ashwood - Female - Wood Elf - Spell Sword - Sword & Destruction Magic (Matriach Ashwood from the front wearing Seraphine Armour as her default clothing) (Matriach Ashwood - Seraphine Armour Full Image) Unknown - Female? - ? - 2 Handed Sword (Unknown Front view wearing Medusa Armour as default armour) (Unknown side view Medusa Armour Full Set) (Unknown Helmetless Front View - Breton Face Test) Taran Finir - Male - Redguard - Sword & Shield (Taran Finir from the front wearing Hunting Grounds Armour Armoured Version) (Taran Finir Full Hunting Grounds Armour View) These are the 6, I know Unknown has a lot of details missing and that's because she/it has a heavy storyline part later on. I've given the details of the characters so I'll tell you a bit about each other than Unknown since you know the deal with her. Ki Shuya & Jay Donnachaidh Ki & Jay are an unlikely duo, an Imperial befriending a nord? There friendship blossomed when they were locked in combat and attacked by a rogue werewolf. They them selves becoming werewolves bonded upon killing the rogue. They travelled across Tamriel together, fighting, drinking & practically being on a 24/7 stag do. More backstory in the game. Aria & Matriach Ashwood The Ashwood Twins couldn't be any further apart if they tried, one a fiery rebel & the other a worshipper of Dibella trying to teach people to love & respect each other. Matriach is a self centred, cruel & dangerous woman, she's not afraid of fighting men and certainly not shy about letting them know how they should grovel at her feet. Aria on the other hand is quite the romantic, she's a light hearted spirit who's content helping the people of Skyrim with there troubles where ever they may need it. Put them in the same room however and they fight over the smallest of things (like any sisters should). Taran Finir Taran is by far the oldest looking of our group of misfits. He's an experienced warrior, but is completely humble. He was looking to retire, before the start of our adventure and better yet hopes to retire at the end of it. He's taken Unknown under his wing to attempt to give her the skills and knowledge she will need to get by in Skyrim, as in his words the others are beyond teaching and all of them are pains in the........rump. So that's the run down of the characters. I don't want to break into the storyline so much otherwise it'll not be worth playing, so bare with me if I'm vague. Chapter 1: The Calling As said previously the story will begin after you learn the first shout outside of Whiterun (Spoiler Friendly). The PC will either recieve a letter from the mail man or an event will occur (haven't figured this part our entirely). The PC will be notified to travel to a location, upon arriving the PC will be greeted by the characters above and asked to prove if s/he is the Dovakiin (shouting). After this you'll be explained as to who they are and why they contacted you (Honestly it'll make more sense in the mod I promise...trying to be vague). From here your first job will be locating a hideout/homebase for the group and doing smaller quests for each which is optional. I do have a lot of plans for later on in the game, such as they become the leading members in a certain faction tied in with the main storyline, but completely seperate from it. So many other ideas that I really want to share with you all, but alas if I do end up making this then I don't want to spoil it. If it doesn't receive good feedback then maybe I'll release the characters as Standalone NPCs that can interact with each other (As that was the original plan and it exploded into this). All the characters are going to be followers for the PC they are going to be quite strong and hopefully if I can make it work they'll level up independantly of the PC. The reason I'm mentioning this is because they and the quest is designed to be played on Master or Legendary Difficulties. Well that's about it for now, if you guys want to know more I'll explain the actual storyline I've got worked out so far, who knows maybe you's can even help fill in the gaps. Thanks for reading & I look forward to the replies. MS.
  18. I agree with stimsoe023, being able to create multiple characters and have them venture on a quest together would be awesome but it would have to have Final Fantasy XIIs Gambit system or something similar to setup how they act as NPCs. Could add Face Icons like in Dragon Age Origins that you could click to switch between them also which would be cool. MS.
  19. Not entirely sure if this will help, but I've had problems with Skyrim Flora Overhaul causing CTDs. Mainly because my computer is mid-range gaming desktop and isn't really built to play Skyrim at the resolution and texture resolutions I was using. Try disabling it and Could you please give your computer spec and what Resolution you're playing at? Cheers MS.
  20. I've played around using the CK, but I can't seem to do to much as I keep breaking things. Which is stupid on my part I might add. I'm attempting to learn, because I want to add a Modular Skyhaven Temple Renovation mod. Similar to the same way you upgrade the Breezehome by talking to Avenichi in Whiterun. But other then creating followers and Custom playable races, I've got 0 knowledge on the Ck. I'll look into it though, cheers. MS.
  21. Hey Guys, I know this has probably been asked a million times and there are some mods out there that do something similar, but can someone please make a Skyhaven Renovation Mod? Something along the lines of Build Your Own Home Mod? Where with options/dialogue I can pour money into expanding Skyhaven temple, then wait 24 hours (example time) and the changes will have been implemented. Skyhaven Temple is supposed to be a massive fort, but it feels like a run down cave in a cliff. I don't feel like putting NPC's there because it's so crappy. This place seriously needs some love and although I'm new with the CK, I'll help out in anyway I can. MS.
  22. Hey notmyhome, thanks for the reply. I have UFO and My home is your Home installed. I was hoping to make a small village of sorts, I suppose the best way to describe it would be a Bandit Camp, but instead of bandits maybe a small community of travellers who are settling down but don't want the hustle and bustle of city life. If this makes any sense at all. I have a makeshift way of doing it with Build your home anywhere mod and your suggested my home is your home mods. But was wondering if there was a more fine tuned mod that does this task. MS.
  23. Hey guy & gals, my very first post on the forums! I would like some help and suggestions if possible, hence why I put this is in the general discussion thread. If it needs moving I'll move it, but getting help isn't really the main issue so I guess it's in the correct place. So here's my little story & problem. So I've been playing Skyrim a while and figured what the hell, I want to do a super realistic playthrough. So I wiped Skyrim from my computer deleted all my saves (nothing missed tbh) and started fresh. I installed a massive list of mods from Frostfall & Realistic N&D to Overhauls for just about everything in the game and everything set on Legendary Difficulty. Now the game runs really smooth, but now and again I'll go into areas and such and I'll get a CTD. Not a big issue, just a bit irritating (An example is when you leave Bleakfalls Barrow and run along the riverside, It just CTDs for no reason). Anyway I play a Hunter, hence all the immersion. I wanted to make it so I felt like an actual hunter roaming the wilds and such and I do, it's great! even installed a mod to allow me to tame beasts etc etc. Now here's where I was hoping you guys could help me out a little, Like I said, I've Overhauled everything with mods, but I'd like to add that little something extra. I want to start my own community ingame. A bit like how Whiterun was built around Jorrvaskar. Start a small hunting settlement where I can bring NPC's to setup shop in a store I've built for them. Is this possible at all? I've looked at a few mods, but not installed anything. I've got the mod for build my own home anywhere (it's what inspired the idea). Now I don't want to become a lord like the build your own City Mod, but something along the lines of the Guild starter mod, but without the Guild. I know I'm going to get posts from people flaming and trolling, so I'll say something to you first to get it out of the way. This is a forum, forums are used by communities and I'm asking the community a question to get the benefit of there experience and hopefully share in some of the fun they've had. Anyway "Go Google it" is an ironic reply in this case as it was Google that led me here. That being said all replies are welcome & I look forward to them. MS.
  24. Hello people of Skyrim Nexus Forums, First of let me say thanks for reading this! and that I always welcome positive/negative feedback. Since your reading this I would like to ask you to read the post fully and then complete it all off by voting on the poll attached. Okay so I'm making this thread because while playing Skyrim I tend to daydream about the ammount of stuff in the game that is amazing and what could be done to expand it. Now I have no Modding Experience at all so hence why i'm posting it here to see fit his idea generates enough hype for a group or even a couple of groups to band together to make it a reality. Conquerer of Skyrim Expansion The CoSE is an idea that came to while wondering Skyrim. I've come across a lot of broken fortresses, with mages, bandits, imperials & stormcloaks located in them. Immediatly you can see where I'm going with this, but don't spoil it yet because i'm not done. I had the idea of "what if these could be taken over?" followed by "and also upgraded back into original forts!?". This idea came from the newer mod that I absolutly love called "Build Your Own Home by Supernastypants". I mean seriously, I enjoyed this mod to no end. But the scale keeps getting bigger in my mind, "What if ALL the forts could do this?" Now that would be an amazing feat no? Now the problem I came across (other then the fact I can't make it because am clueless) is this is HUGE. So I came up with the idea of "What if it was an Expansion, put together by a few groups rather then individuals?" we could increase the content to make it worth doing. So I started searching around the net for ideas and came up with this list. Expansion Features[\b][\u] 1) Make the map fully conquerable. 2) Add in Custom Quests 3) Increase Level & Skill Caps without the need for Console. 4) Add new Guilds (this idea was provided by a steam user who made the Hunting Guild). 5) Add in new companions (Ideas brought by modders on this site. Cerwiden by Mujuro for example). These are just some of the ideas that are brought forward by thinking on it. The best thing about this idea is a lot of it has already been done on an individual level, which is where the problems start rising. Incompatabilities with other mods etc etc, If (with permission obviously) these mods were to be implemented into the Expansion all the compatabilities could be worked out before a release and the users get them all-in-one. Please find below the names of the mods i'm using that inspired this idea. Cerwiden -SMART Healer- AI Configurable Companion by Mujuro Tundra Defense - Construct Your Own Outpost by Elderwind Build Your Own Home by Supernastypants UFO - Ultimate Follower Overhaul by fLokii These are literally a few of the mods i'm using and they prove that this idea can be done. Everything I mentioned above has already been done just on a smaller scale. I really would like to see a few groups take this request on and expand it. Ofcourse i'm completely useless but I'd still help in anyway I can, be it writing quests or voice acting. I was hoping to make this available after the main storyline so it doesn't screw up anything main quest line related, also I wasn't planning on including the main cities of Skyrim as they should be fine the way they are. If anyone is interested in this idea then please spread the word around get peoples interests up and remember to vote in the polls. I thank you all for reading and commenting in advance. MS
