PCI-E 2.1 cards will work in 2.0 boards. I had my 5770 in a 1.0 board and it worked fine...but I lost a bit of bandwidth (2.0 transfers data at 500MB/s, 1.0 at 250MB/s). But, 2.0 and 2.1 are the same speed, so no loss :)

Well for what comes with it, I'm guessing it's around that price. That's just ludicrous...I'm just buying the game thanks

I'd recommend a 5770 too, affordable and pretty awesome ;) I have one myself. Fallout 3 will run lovely :) OK, good good :) Yeah, me too. I have a simple Coolermaster case, no fancy lights or a clear panel....I like it to be simple...no fancy doo dads and all that lol. I just have a fan controller that my friend gave me for my two 80mm fans. They are extremely loud when they are at full speed, I just keep them all the way turned down. Hated it when I didn't have it haha, sounded like a small aircraft :P

That's actually a very good combo. Those Athlon II dual cores are pretty nice. My boyfriend and I bought many of those for my family's new computers. That motherboard is nice too for the price, Biostar isn't all that bad. I had one of their motherboards before I went to the one I currently have. Are you going to be playing video games on your system? I've had my luck with my cheap-y Rosewill 450W, a lot of people claim their stuff is a shot in the dark. As for your case there. Yes, I would add a fan to the rear and side for proper ventilation. Is that a mid tower case or a micro ATX case btw? The motherboard you picked out is ATX (I'd stick with that)

mhmmm :) Homecoming was pretty sweet too...but another game that runs like trash on the PC. There are sometimes I wish I still had a console for those. I just played a demo of Amnesia: The Dark Descent......and I will never play it again. I screamed so loud lol...surprised the neighbours didn't come knocking on my door. Sheesh, I thought Silent Hill was scary...this is far worse. No weapons, dark as heck, and....urgh...I'm gonna have nightmares now lol

If you want to keep the motherboard and deal with the Hyper Transport going down so low, go ahead :) You won't see it's full potential until you get an AM3 motherboard, but if you don't have much money to spend, that's a good upgrade :) But still, I'd say you'd be better off getting new parts. It's really not worth paying $60 for 4GB of DDR2 800 when you can get DDR3 1600 for the same price. All depends on your budget I guess. Gigabyte :thumbsup: Got a MA-770T-UD3. Pretty affordable. I got this processor. Not too bad of a price either, but the great thing is, with a little tweaking in the BIOS it can be unlocked to a quad core :biggrin: It's a quad core now overclocked to 4.0GHz on a stock original Phenom x4 cooler :thumbsup: This RAM is pretty nice. But, it all depends on what brand you like. I've never had a problem with Gskill :) As for a graphics card, I'm not to up to date about those now...I have an "old" one...a ATI 5770. It's a pretty nice card. But, that also depends on what brand you like and what type of games you want to play. As for a PSU, you would want to get at least a 600W. Antec is one of the nicer brands. You want to pick out a decent one with high amperage 12V rails. Hope this gives you an idea :)

This is your CPU, correct? You cannot get a Phenom II x4 because they are socket AM3. Scooting around newegg here, I only see AM2+ quad core available :( Wow, looks like they totally cleaned their stock out of AM2 dual cores too....sheesh. Your motherboard also supports DDR2 RAM. DDR3 is the new stuff about, so you will be paying a fair chunk of money for it now because they don't make it anymore. Pretty much, you'd have to get a new motherboard...sorry.

I told him that and showed him that exact same article, he still didn't believe me. He likes to play Gears of War or something like that, I told him if we could face off I'd kill him in a matter of seconds with no experience in the game :P He saw me play TF2 once and said "the mouse is too sensitive"...and I laughed at him and said "that's why they have mouse sensitivity options" :laugh: He claims the controllers are better than what they used to be. Last console I played on was a PS2. I still can't see myself playing any FPS on a console though, even Oblivion... how the heck do you aim?!

Vindekarr explained it just as how I would :yes: What's hard for me is to get people off the stinking consoles and get them to play games on the PC :P My uncle refuses lol, and he's got a pretty decent computer, all he would need is a graphics card. He always says it's "impossible to play on the keyboard and mouse". I keep on trying to tell him that the accuracy is better, the controls are all pretty much the same (WASD, shift, etc.), but he don't listen lol.

No way man lol. Best money we have ever spent ever IMO. It's so fun :D You can get a pretty decent setup with a computerized mount for $300-500USD actually. We don't take pictures with the actual lens on the camera, Tee. We take the lens off and hook it directly up the telescope. So, the telescope is it's lens now :D A 2800mm f/10 lens :P You move the primary mirror on the scope to focus. We were going to go out last night...but it was like -20 outside lol. Looks like another week of cloudy weather too :( Ah well, good old weatherman always lie lol, so we'll see.
