  1. There is currently no way to do this with Anno. There is a program called the AnnoMapEditor that will allow one to place islands as desired on a map with a custom layout. https://github.com/anno-mods/AnnoMapEditor It is currently limited to the Old World. I haven't tried it yet, but it is at the top of my list.
  2. Here is a link to a map editor for Anno 1800. Look at the readme and read the Issues that discuss what the map editor can do. https://github.com/anno-mods/AnnoMapEditor After looking at this AnnoMapEditor, it doesn't look like this would be possible. But I could be wrong.
  3. The Boost mod collection has a 50% lower field requirement. [boost] Field Reduction (50%) Add [Gameplay] Free Farmfield Placement to let you place the fields anywhere within a large radius. And the [Gameplay] Move Mines Oil Clay mod. These three mods will probably give you the best overall freedom in placing farms wherever you want. You can also edit the first mod and change the reduction to something higher.
  4. The Spice it Up mod collection has one mod that replaces the wires with street lights. It also includes several mods that add ornaments. The description page on the Spice it Up mods shows what is available in the mod.
  5. This is an old list I found somewhere. Does anyone know where I can find an updated list for the latest Anno 1800 DLCs? 6. Update Link to Modding section in the Anno 1800 Fandom Wiki: https://anno1800.fandom.com/wiki/Modding#RDA_file_organization Looks like the Link to the RDA Explorer was added per my request. Yea! (Top of next section, Basic Info) In the Anno 1800 Wiki, scroll down to: Modding Guides & Websites The first item points to the Modding Blog: https://schwubbe.de/modding_blog.php (Change the display to the language of your choice in the upper right of the page.) I find this web page most useful when looking for information on how to make your own mod, and how to install mods. The second item goes to a link to an old UBI site that no longer exists and should be deleted from the Wiki. The links to the other places in this section appear to be good and still work for me. Note that the last item is a link in Github that has links to other Mod Collections for Anno 1800 in Github only. (Posting issues at this link, will most likely be ignored. This place was meant to point to other mod collections. It is not a place for posting suggestions and asking for help with mods.)
  7. I am using the latest Modloader files posted on the Spice It Up mods. One of the files shows version 0.9.4, and the other shows version 3.5.2. They work fine. Also when playing most games, I always exclude the folders or drives where I place my games from Virus and Antimalware protection. Also AV software is way over protective anyway. I have been using the built in virus protection that comes with Windows 10 for several years with no issues. I used to check my system with Malwarebytes every few months but now in the last 2 or 3 years I quit doing even that.
  8. I have never used Discord. I do have a Mod Manager for Dyson Sphere Program I got from Thunderstore.
  9. Scaling is at 100%. And I am using the official Vortex as downloaded from the Nexus. I am using no 3rd party software that I know of that could cause only Vortex and no other programs to work incorrectly. As I mentioned before. It only happens with Vortex. Other programs and windows are fine. Is this program using CSS similar to what is in Firefox or another Internet type Explorer? I have modified Firefox quite a bit. I wonder if that could affect anything. I'll have a look at that. Edit: I checked my Nvidia settings and scaling is disabled. I think it is best to ignore this for now. It is definately something strange with my Windows setup. Setting the window for Vortex to maximized does work ok as expected.
  10. Yes. I used to work at Microsoft Hardware. I do know how to use Windows. My resolution also set at 1920x1080. All other windows for other programs resize properly. This one does not resize in the vertical. The horizontal shrinks a bit. To a size a bit over 3/4 total size. If the window was set to full screen, I would not be able to resize it at all. I did try backing everything up and re-installing Vortex. Nothing changed. I did not try to clean anything though before re-installing. Maybe an old Registry setting messed up during an update? I guess I can look there. Also thinking of setting my display to the 4k mode. See how that works. Edit: No real difference. Also tried changing themes to/from compact and default. No difference. Nothing in Registry that would appear to affect any of this. Resize is hardcoded in program so didn't expect anything anyway.
  11. Compact sets font size to 12 so without cloning that and lowering it more, it doesn't really help. Lowering the font size is not an option. And I should be able to increase the font size and have the ability to resize the window and the columns. Basically I do not want auto-sizing columns. That just doesn't work for me. Allowing items to wrap around to use more lines when the columns are shrunk is ok. I need to be able to adjust column width manually. There is no way the height for the Vortex window will go lower than 1080. This is the only program on my system, Windows 10, that I know of where resizing the height of the window does not work. Right clicking the task bar and trying to adjust the height has no effect. Works fine with other programs. Yes, it would be fine if this were considered as a possible feature in the future. Thank you. Edit again: And thanks for the link to Github where I was able to add my vote.
  12. QOL Suggestion: It appears that I cannot manually change the width of columns dynamically, so to get around this and to be able to see all the columns at once, I like to stretch the window across two displays. The problem is, that when not maximized, the Vortex window will partially drop underneath the taskbar. Which means, that some information, is covered up. I am not able to adjust the height below 1080 pixels. (I have both monitors set to 1920x1080.) The width can be adjusted below 1920 which is fine. I would rather not have to move the taskbar, or set it to autohide. Is it possible to lower the minimum height allowed by this application? Maybe to around 900 pixels high? This would allow me to also raise the height of my taskbar as well if desired. Thank you for your consideration.
  13. Thanks to this discussion I figured out why Vortex was not showing the Plugins tab for Fallout 4. For some reason after the latest update, I found that all the Gamebryo extensions were disabled. I hadn't played Fallout 4 for over a year. I wonder if upgrading Vortex from a really old build would cause this? Anyway, the Plugins tab is back and I found out why several mods were not working. They were disabled. So everything seems to be working fine again.
  14. Wish I could help. I haven't tried those mods. Most of my mods come from the Spice it Up mods collection. And some of them don't work either. I don't know why. And many of the mod authors appear to have moved on and no longer support their mods.
  15. I have never heard of the requirement for a 'dummy' file. I do not believe there is such a thing. You need to tell us what platform this game was purchased under as the placement of the mod folder may be different. I purchased the game from EpicGames and when installing the game this is where my game was placed: E:\EpicGames\ANNO1800 It may be in a different folder with your installation. The mods folder goes into the Anno1800 folder. It is a folder you create and this is where your mods go. When the game starts up it will create a '.cache' folder in the 'mods' folder. The best place to go for help is the official Ubisoft forums here: https://forums.ubisoft.com/forumdisplay.php/879-Anno Officially Ubisoft does not support mods, but there may be someone there that may be better able to help you in this. Edit: Ubisoft will tell you to disable all mods before they will assist in any crashes you might be having with your game. Also, I don't use a mod manager so I can not help you there. The way mods are added to this game is so simple that adding a mod manager to add mods makes no sense at all for this game. If we were discussing Fallout for instance, then a mod manager would make sense for that game.
  16. The Anno 1800 Wiki was never updated. The only thing I found was a pointer to some German forums. I don't understand German well enough to understand anything on those forums. Ich bin ein Amerikaner. (Probably spelled wrong.) Should I be looking at modding discussions for older Anno games?
  17. I have the same issue when running Wrye Bash with Fallout 4. (Version 307 beta 6.1 that is available on the Nexus) Unfortunately for me the masters window is smaller and there is no way to drag the window to increase the size. It appears there was a bug about this on Github but it was closed for some reason. And it can't be bugged on the Nexus because comments are locked. It looks like no one cares to fix this issue.
  18. I also use Link Shell Extension. The following is just an example. You may need to change the details to suit your Windows installation. Note: Before doing this, Practice on a simple program that you installed on C drive (your SSD drive) and verify that you can run it using the original shortcuts made when you first installed the program. Steps: Create a new folder called D:\games\steam. (Or where you like.) (Originally steam was installed on C drive on my computer.) Copy your files from the C drive to another location. For example: From C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam to D:\games\Steam Rename C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam_save. This is your backup in case something goes wrong. With Link Shell Extension installed, In File manager, navigate to D:\games and right click Steam (folder) and then select 'Pick Link Source'. Navigate back to C:\Program Files (x86)\ in File Manager and right click on a blank area and select 'Drop as...' and then select Junction. The new link will have the same name as the original folder name. In this case 'Steam'. (If not, you can right click the new link and rename it in the properties dialog.) Click on your original (unmodified) shortcut to run your program(s). Everything should work as before.
  19. I also find Vortex to be better. It did take me a couple of days to learn it and re-install my mods. I'm glad I did. It is a big improvment over NMM.
  20. Downloading mods manually and dragging and dropping into Vortex works best for me. I was able to install 'A Little Bit of Green Version 2.5' this way. (Which I believe is similar to 'Touch of Green' that you want to install.) For some reason, clicking the NMM link doesn't work for me.
  21. I use the Custom install for Vortex and have not had any problems. Although I haven't had to install a new version of Vortex since I originally installed it.
  22. I have had no problem with setting up Vortex to install the mods in the Vortex install directory on Win7. Although I installed Vortex on another drive in a different folder than the usual "Program Files" location that Windows wants you to install things into. For instance, I installed Vortex in G:\Games\Vortex. (So basically, I did what @kamikatze13 suggested.) I tend to move data storage of most of my programs to another drive and not use %appdata% on C drive. I usually use Junctions to point to stuff I have moved elsewhere. If for some reason you have to repair or re-install windows, having important stuff in %appdata% is a good way to lose it. P.S. For managing links, such as symlinks or junctions, it is much easier to use the following addon to File Manager. It's a lot easier to use than 'mklink' in a command prompt window. Link Shell Extension at: http://schinagl.priv.at/nt/hardlinkshellext/linkshellextension.html
  23. Borderlands does the ladder climbing quite well. When the Creation Kit comes out, maybe this will be possible. I would rather see a mod that shows the climbing animations, instead of the teleporting.
  24. I agree. Probably have to wait for the Creation Kit for this though.
