  1. Yes, I've been watching out for land marks in the distance. For example if you go between the 2 mountains north of whiterun on your way to winterhold, you'll find a crossroads with a sign post telling you what's where. I'm also enjoying the scenery :) makes you feel good when you see the college in the distance. Its quite beautiful.
  2. I can't say I blame them for saying nothing. Apparently, according to what I've read, the werewolf was supposed to be the game secret surprise, but then some game rating company or something screamed about it and ruined the secret. Also @mighty zog, I've stopped fast travelling, but I'm keeping my compass for now since I used to fast travel everywhere, and I get hopelessly lost. So I'll keep it till maybe the end of this character then try playing without it.
  3. So I've started a new character named Ariel (my older sister's name is Ariel) who enjoys beating little children and kicking puppies. Ok, that was a joke at my sister's expense. Anyway, I'm using the Templar armor from Mancika - http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/25642 - And it has some great weapons, but I'm using a one handed axe, since I almost never use them I thought it'd be fun. So I was wondering if there is anyone out there who might want to make some very holy looking weapons. Almost like the dagger in the movie 'Priest' where the bottom of the cross comes off and there is a blade, but with swords and axes. Like a larger cross where one of the limbs broadens into an axe head with maybe a biblical quote on the shaft. Or a sword where the crosspiece forms a crucifix or something. I'm not a very religious person, so I'm not very familiar with the symbolism and stuff, but since my character is very paladin looking I'd greatly appreciate it if someone could make a few one handed weapons to match it. With great thanks, FoxHoman
  4. Yes, I agree. I wanted to make a Dragon Mask display in Lakeview, with 4 priest masks in each display case, and 3 dragonborn (which I'm hoping to get on payday) masks on the mannequins, but gave up after my first mask I tried hopelessly tumbled around when I moved it.
  5. I'm not sure if I'm the only one who does this, but I'd like to know if you do it too. What I do is I have a character who NEVER leaves lakeview manor. He stays in the basement. And when I start piling wealth on another character, I'll write down what I have, then drop it all. Then switch over to Tempest (my banker) and console command everything I dropped and put it in its own safe in the basement. So far, across all my characters, I've collected 30k in each safe on one wall (total of 150k cash), and a stockpile of gems and jewelry in the safes on the other wall. Roughly a total of 210k. I find that since I usually craft all my items, and don't usually spend money it lets me keep my wealth organized without cluttering up other stuff, and then I can easily count what all my characters are worth. I was a bit disappointed when I first started playing Skyrim that you couldn't transfer loot from one character to another. For example if you found a staff on your warrior, you couldn't get it to your mage. In games like Guild Wars 2, there is a bank with limited slots where you can put something in, log out, log in on another character, and take it again. So I decided I'd kind of do that with skyrim. This also lets me use my main characters to fund my newer characters on potions and stuff until they become less needy and more self sufficient. Most of my cash comes from selling dragonbones and other high value stuff you get from drops or chests, like ebony armor/weapons, and I just keep the diamonds, sapphires, etc I find in my travels, along with what ever jewelry I find. So if you do this too, I'd like to know how much you've hoarded and whatnot. :) FoxHoman.
  6. Thanks for all the advice. I've made a mage and a thief now :) And life, once again, is good.
  7. Hey. So I have a level 30 heavy armor/2h weapon warrior, who has killed Alduin, Ulfric Stormcloak, the Dark Brotherhood, Completed the College of Winterhold's quest line, have Konahrik (sp?), am thane in nearly all holds, finished DawnGuard, don't own DragonBorn, maxed out werewolf, done a load of bounties, am Harbinger of the Companions, and so on. But my predicament is that I've never been this far before, and am stumped on what to do next. more bounties? Start a new character? Is there another quest line I can do? (apart from the thieves guild, as a heavy weapon/heavy armor character isn't that sneaky) Should I just explore as much as I can and clear out all the caves and forts? I've tried googling what to do, and all the things I've seen result along the lines of: There isn't much else to do. Since I've invested quite a bit of time in this character already I'd be fairly disappointed if all that's left is to 1-2 hit draugr/bandits. So if any one can point me in just about any direction, that would be fantastic. Sincerely, FoxHoman
  8. It sounds like something the apothecary (sp?) merchants might wear too. I'd download it :)
  9. So I spent the day training my warrior in the arts of being a werewolf, and a strange thought coursed through my head. What if there was a village, not to big, not to small, with no guards, that just such a werewolf could stir children from their beds? With a houl in the night, and with barely any light, a predator descends upon an unsuspecting man. With its eyes glowing brigh, and his claws holding tight, he devours him like a good christmas ham. Ok, I'm running out of rhymes. But I think you get the point. A couple small villages in each hold with respawning NPCs to populate it and no guards, or maybe just 1 or 2 which would be fair for smaller villages, were you can stage raids without raising a bounty or emptying cities of their populace. For example maybe a village of 5-10 people between Whiterun and Rorikstead where the people respawn, say, once a week that you can attack and feed off the people. Also a place where the people, like I mentioned, don't really matter. Because I enjoy the ambience (sp?) that Skyrim gives with its population, like people in the market place and in the inns. Maybe built a bit lke Rorikstead with a bit of space between buildings, and perhaps a small inn that people go to for an evening drink, maybe around 8pm, and all leave back to their homes at around 10, about 5 in-game minutes apart so if you time it right you can snag each person without drawing too much attention unless you wanted to. I would try to make something like this myself, but I'm still trying to learn how to use the workshop, so I thought I'd ask the largest modding community I know of for some help. Sincerely, Fox Homan Edit: Come to think of it, this would be quite profitable for the Vampire Lord, too, to get the perks for that form too. Edit2: Ok, never mind. I was raiding small farms earlier, and noticed if you don't kill bandit leaders, then mines, caves and bandit camps re-populate. So I'm just going to farm that for a while.
  10. like this? http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/442
  11. So here is my idea: There was a sword in Dragon Age Origins, found during the 'Sacred Ashes' quest in the cave before the open area where you could fight the Dragon, that behaved as a staff for mages, where you could cast spells out of it. Well, thats what it said but it never worked for me. But that gave me the idea that maybe a good modder could make a similar thing for Skyrim? Where you can take a sword and give it the properties of a staff, so I can shoot lightning bolts out of a sword? I am finishing the game as a warrior right now, but have a sort of side project with a battle mage, and thought I would look totally epic if I could start casting out of a sword instead of my hands or a staff. I'm not that experienced with making mods, so I'm not sure if this is a realistic idea, but I'd be very apreciative if someone could make a mod like this.
