good luck to everyone! :)

Giveaways are always kind of nice, even though most people rarely win nothing out of them, but they absolutely make the person's day who wins the price, so good luck everyone.

In response to post #57206761. #57213901, #57214006, #57216011, #57216651, #57217286, #57217661 are all replies on the same post. madpaddy, I was just making sure that everyone was aware of why it was the way it is for the moment. As the text on the known issues page says this can be bypassed by using a junction point, so you can have the files on a different volume this way. Though I do agree that users should be able to choose where a program is installed on their computer, the way it is currently handled also kind of makes sense from a development standpoint, as it might very well be that if that choice is implemented the program will have to always rely on the registry no matter where it is installed. -

In response to post #57215981. Most likely because Vortex uses hardlink deployment as default (at least for Skyrim SE and Fallout 4), which creates a second index to your game data referencing the original and thus requiring the original file to be on the same partition as the index file. There was something about other deployment methods being available later on a while back, so there will probably be a "MO-like" deployment as Vortex moves further in it's development. -

In response to post #57206761. #57213901, #57214006, #57216011 are all replies on the same post. This is one of the first items on the "known issues" thread on the forums: https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/6352891-known-issues/ "Problem: Vortex installs to C:, I want it somewhere else First of all, you can place mods and such to a different drive from inside vortex but the application itself (around 200MB) and a few MB of settings will always be on C: The reason we install to the directories we do is: This is where applications are supposed to be installed, we follow microsoft guidelines exactly and this has various advantages: - We know we can write to the directories - We know the data will be backed up by a proper backup solution and the application, which can be downloaded from the internet, is not. We know - When updating we know where the old version is, without having to rely on the registry - When you let users pick the installation directory, some of them will install to c:\windows\system32 and some will blame us for not protecting them. There is also no real compelling reason for this kind of "customisability". No other OS requires/allows users to set a target directory during install and I don't hear people complain about Linux patronising its users too much. More and more modern applications don't ask for a target directory during install, I think people should just come to terms with the fact that this is how things are going to work in the future. If your argument is going to be: "But I don't have enough disk space on C:" then the answer is: You can move Program Files or subdirectories of it to a different drive by creating ntfs mounts or junction points, C:\Windows and C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming ltd don't have to be on the same disk. Noob question about using CBBE mods (Superb Serana SSE)
Jenrant replied to mokujin1970's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim SE
CBBE hasn't been updated to Skyrim SE yet, so you'll have to get the UNP version of the said mod unless you really want to use CBBE the oldrim one should work if you download it manually and add to NMM. Anyway, if you decide to go with UNP instead, as it is converted to SE so you can get it straight from Nexus to your NMM, you can download UNP here or here. DO NOT INSTALL BOTH, THEY BOTH CONTAIN THEIR OWN VERSION OF THE UNP BODY AND MIGHT CAUSE PROBLEMS WITH EACH OTHER. I JUST INCLUDED BOTH SO YOU CAN CHOOSE WHICHEVER YOU LIKE MORE. I personally use the latter one with bikini type III. So download either UNP from the link provided or CBBE from oldrim's nexus (Haven't tried if it works straight out of the box, so I recommend going UNP until the new CBBE is out) and then just installing Suberb Serana mod after that normally using NMM. Remember to choose the appropriate version of it via the files page. -
Most likely normal behaviour, since Smilodon, especially with the realistic damage plugin, makes everything die rather easily, including yourself. If that's an issue I would recommend removing the Realistic Damage plugin to make all the enemies harder to kill. Also I don't think Smilodon is in development anymore, because it's features got kind of merged into Wildcat, and even Wilcat's download page says "Since most Smilodon features have been added to Wildcat 6.00, Smilodon is no longer in development." You can look for yourself here.

Make sure that your Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini settings are as they should be, maybe even delete them if necessary, then the game will recreate them and you can go and do any ini tweaks to them if some of your installed mods so needs. I personally use BethINI for a few ini tweaks, that also makes the inis a bit more easier to read, you can get it from here. BethINI might also fix the ctds in itself so you probably don't even need to recreate them alltogether. Long shot: I read something similar sometime ago and it was caused by a mismatch in Microsoft C++ Library, so also reinstalling that might also help.

I run LOOT every time I do absolutely anything with my plugins, so that's not going to help, I also tried disabling absolutely every plugin and it still crashed while loading a new game, so now I decided to reinstall everything even though I said I wouldn't do it. My guess is that SSELODGen f*#@ed something up, but that doesn't really make sense, because why would it crash because of LODs, they just would be weird looking if that was the case. Most likely a complete reinstall will make it work again, though this is a second time this has happened, that's kind of the reason I came here looking for help with it, but got too bored waiting for answers so reinstalling everything... again...

I had same kind of an issue, seemed like something was wrong with NMM 0.63.13, so I found a installer for 0.63.12 which works perfectly and I didn't end up losing any mods even though NMM did the start setup again, just select the same places you installed it's files previously and it should work like a charm and do not update it to 0.63.13 afterwards. You can download it from here.

I would still recommend downloading Modern Brawl Bug Fix by EnaiSiaion if you don't already have it to make such bugs from happening, you can get it from here.

SSEEdit loads everything just fine, Skyrim starts up fine, but crashes when I try to load my save or start a new game, it loads for a while and then ctd. I would really like to know why it's happening, because I rather not reinstall everything. Just ask and I'll provide more logs that I maybe didn't even know about, because Papyrus.0 seems completely useless in this situation. SSEEdit Papyrus.0 LOOT load order

Disable "Bijin Wives.esp", "Bijin Warmaidens.esp", "Serana.esp" and "Valerica.esp", as these are already covered by "BijinAIO_SSE-3.1.1-SV.esp". And the addition of Bijin NPC's probably helped because it's a prerequisite for "BijinAIO_SSE-3.1.1-SV.esp". Also disable Bijin NPC mod's esp file and let "BijinAIO_SSE-3.1.1-SV.esp" do the work instead.
