  1. I don't know much about Game of Thrones (though I have heard good things about it) but I thought this girl was very young, she seems kind of older in your pics. She still looks good and those eyes are killer.
  2. I actually think that it is because our real lives are filled with so much unpunished depravity that it makes the original poster annoyed that it is in the game too. I mean, I know it’s realistic but damn, do we have to be depressed in a game too? Lol I mean we definitely play games, and watch shows, and movies partially due to wanting immersion but I would also say that sometimes we watch some of those things and play games with happier endings as a means to have a brief escape from the negativity in the world. Like maybe there is a part of us that enjoys playing games because we want control over everything as a brief break from the powerlessness we often feel especially in the face of certain adversities. So while that particular instance didn’t upset me (I mean after all, regardless as to why, they did choose that path), as I don’t like vampires anyway and would have probably attempted to kill her if the game let me, I can understand your annoyance (or at least I think I do) and have felt it at other times. I hate that I can’t oppose the daedric princes, I hate that I can’t systematically do quests that will eliminate the Thieves Guild and or at the very least take power away from Maven. I hate that if I side with the Empire or the Stormcloaks that I can’t remove the corrupt officials/jarls that are also on the side I have chosen (or at least extort them). I hate when I am maxed out with intimidate (100 Speech and appropriate perks selected) and I STILL can’t intimidate someone. WTF have the option there if it is impossible to succeed with it? On the daedric prince thing, I especially remember when my boy Jarl Balgruuf was all like, “Hey Dosv (I named that particular dude that)! My Thane! My homie!” And I was all like, “Big Rough! (I call him that cause we cool like that) WHUSSSSUUUUUUUUP!” Then he was like, “WHUSUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUP!” Then I said (The Whusup thing happened like 12 more times back and forth) So finally, he’s like, “Dos, my son is being a bit of an a-hole lately. His mom saw my Skybook status, who you suspiciously enough never see so you can assume I am getting some dunmer tail from my housecarl, but his mom saw my status about it on Skybook and text me that it is probably puberty or some dumb sh(ice)t like that. Look, I saw you adopted like 12 kids.” “True dat, B (I call him that too sometimes)” “So given we haven’t arrested you for child neglect-” “Mostly cause I’m the thane and I’ll b(iscuit)tch slap them guards.” “You say something?” “No B, you’re good.” “Yeah, well given you’re not in jail, you must know what you’re doing. Can you talk some sense into that little snot because I gotta sit on my pimp throne all day like a Boss.” “I got you man.” So I walk up to the kid and he’s like, “You’re here to kiss my father’s butt. Great.” And almost slapped him right then and there, but no, I talk to him. I figure the problem is woman related because what problem isn’t? “Look kid, when two people love each other, or when they get certain urges, they have a special hug that they-“ “I have new friend, and I can’t help them but maybe you can.” “Uh, kid, I know these are barbaric times we’re in, but I don’t touch them unless their old enough to-“ “No, not that kind of friend. Just follow me.” Needless to say the kid is helping a daedric prince in the kitchen pantry right next to the Doritos. Not good. This is definitely some information that would be important to share with Big Rough. Right? Nope. I can’t even tell the guy that his son is worshipping a demon. I can ask him about the dumb@$$ Greybeards for the 15th time or what it means to be a Thane when I know it doesn’t mean anything already, but I can’t tell him that his son is acting weird because there is a demon that is trying to use him every time he goes to grab a pint of mead. (Hey, those times mead was a kids drink (prolly not but still)) So yeah, I’ve been annoyed myself friends. I have been there.
  3. I voted dwemer baby! But even if I didn't get to play as one, I'd be happy just to finally find out what actually happened to them which is why I didn't vote for the falmer as we know what happened to them and having snow elves so to speak seems like it would end up being a little repetitious where as the dwemer built things unlike anything and so far advanced that I feel like they would be very different to be. But it is possible that I could be very wrong. Whether they add a new playable race or not though, I think they already offer a good variety where adding another race would be unnecessary in my opinion.
  4. LOL, I am insane with ya sister! I do this quite a bit playing Skyrim and while I don't expect any company to come with every scenario, I definitely believe that, while I like Dawnguard overall, it would not have been hard or a stretch to figure out a way to have you joint he vampires WITHOUT joining the Dawnguard or figuring out a way to include killing Serana as an option.
  5. To me, considering every notable NPC met in Sovengard refers to Alduin (notably, in this case, Rikke), I'd imagine Ulfrics comments after his death were intended to follow the main line. I'm not saying that is wrong as I think that is very possible, but I still think it is very possible that this interpretation is feasible as well: "Upon death, he can be encountered in Sovngarde as a specter, interestingly regretting his belligerent actions against the Empire due to how it only weakend Skyrim and strengthened the Thalmor. That's my opinion, but I respect yours and definitely think you could be right ;)
  6. You can just call me "Tons" as I know my full name is a bit long and a pain lol but yeah, these are GREAT mods judging from the description so I downloaded like 5 of them and I hope they work. Thanks Frosty (hopefully you're okay with me calling ya "Frosty") Yup Frosty is good for me... ...is what most people call me.....and yep, took me a while typing your name out, checking the spelling, etc...'Tons' is a whole lot easier.... ....I use the Sabre Cats, Bears and Spriggans modules myself....Imy Dovahkin already has Wolf allegiance in both Human and Wolf form from a Werewolf Mod I use and as his an Alchemist I don't want to be reminded his tearing the wings off Butterflies.... :ohdear: ... ....My favorite is the Spriggans one, he can walk right up to them and get a good look, it's very nice not being attacked when he helps them against Hagravens too.... I am so glad I got those mods! Lol. They're awesome. Thanks again Frosty. Of course I'd be more of a softy than you, lol. Hmmm... it is hard to say really as to whether Hearthfire is good in my opinion. I mean for its price it certainly isn't the worse thing you can buy lol but I would call it a must buy either especially due to the mods that exist. Hahaha! I do the second thing, but only to that general merchant in Whiterun.
  7. Thank you for your welcome Anska and your response. I like your interpretation, but seeing it has made me realize something. That while I see your interpretation of Ulfric's word feasible, I still see it as feasible that he was referring to the mistake of starting that war, BUT what I realize is this might actually be a bit of phenomenal writing where it is deliberately capable of being interpreted in multiple ways. Some stories (maybe even most) there really is a right and wrong interpretation depending on the writer of course, but this may be a situation where it is deliberately interpretive. I could be wrong, but seeing such a strong feasibility in your presented view without diminishing mine has caused me to move int hat direction. Damn this game is good, lol.
  8. LOL... ;D ....cute description....and that is one of the reasons why I won't get Hearthfire....I'm a real softie but my Dovahkin is not, nor is he any sort of family man or Home Maker....I would feel terrible for the poor little orphans if they were in my game and so just refuse to have them... :(.... Lol! I had no idea myself. I read you could adopt kids and I was all like "Bump that, I just wan't to waste fools and come home to a pimp house!" and then, I ran into some kid selling flowers and well, now (with the help of a mod) I am a semi depressed and proud parent of 4 kids. :/ *sigh* On a separate note and in addition to my previous post, I was saddened even more about Kodlak dying after read his journal. I can't believe that guild full of warriors and werewolves couldn't protect him and left him laying there naked! Okay, I'm not mad anymore lol, but still. I almost feel bad that I can't thing of one random NPC that I started to like and would be sad if they died. Meh. Maybe it will come to me later on my eleventeenth playthrough lol.
  9. You can just call me "Tons" as I know my full name is a bit long and a pain lol but yeah, these are GREAT mods judging from the description so I downloaded like 5 of them and I hope they work. Thanks Frosty (hopefully you're okay with me calling ya "Frosty")
  10. If you're intent on following the main quest, but you don't have to. Alternate start mods, clever console command usage or just ignoring that quest will go a long way to not being that hero in the game. What they stand for may not be evil, but how they go about it is sometimes a different matter (and discussed to death in various other threads). Execution for petty crimes comes to mind. Killing isn't the only way to be evil. The thieves guild robs almost indiscriminately (they leave their own alone, the saints), they intimidate shopkeepers so they'll pay protection money, and plant false evidence on innocents that crossed them/their allies to have those innocents jailed. I wish I knew how you broke my post down like that as that is cool and would be helpful to me right now lol but to respond to your response: You should list the mods and the console commands that would allow you to complete Skyrim in an evil way, regardless seems like a lot of work which means that the game mechanic doesn't really allow for you to be evil and complete it at the same time. BUT like you said, if a person wants to only do the quests that can be considered evil and then wander around doing nothing the rest of the time that the game won't even really acknowledge then yeah, evil you can be Lol. I don't care what beliefs, organization, movement, etc you pick, there will never be one that doesn't have a few dark people and or deeds with in their history but does that make the entire belief, organization, movement, etc you pick evil? Absolutely not. So liek I said, neither of those sides are evil they just have some people that are and last time I checked you don't have to be evil to do the wrong thing in a situation. Yeah that officer just decided to execute me for crossing a border and some guy who stole a horse, but they weren't doing it out of evil. Wrong and evil are not the same things too. A lot of kids do things that are wrong all the time, but they certainly aren't evil and I'm sorry, but you won't convince me that some thief who refuses to kill is evil when there are evil beings out there who would laugh if you told them you were evil just because you steal from anyone. I'm not evil and I laugh at that haha. There's daedric princes that wouldn't let you shine their non existent shoes if that was all you did in your life. Wrong and evil may share a spectrum but they aren't the same. Evil is about committing acts that most consider unspeakable no matter the circumstances so yeah, I'd say to be truly evil you have to (despite having other choices) sacrifice, kill, and or torture innocent people and or friends and or good people. Otherwise you aren't playing an evil character, you're just playing a renegade at worst.
  11. I apologize that I didn't read every post in this thread and if I say crap that has been said already and or squashed or whatever other offensive thing I might do with my post by being a newb but The Empire wasn't being a puppet, they were surviving when they conceded to The Dominion. If you can't beat your enemy (or do so without significant loss and casualties), join them until you can. That is why they did what they did. The Elves are smart enough to know this however and so they did the Talos thing so that the Empire would fight itself and thus threw a monkey wrench it what was otherwise the smartest (not the bravest or perhaps even the most honorable) move. But pride is a b&@*$ (can I say that here oooo I hope I don't get banned before I've even made 20 posts) and it skews one's point of view. Running/surrendering is cowardly, face foes head on, etc, etc. Pride is costly too. I mean any mentality that has an upside of dying a particular way is a pretty expensive mentality to have in general. There are also those that feel that to worship Talos in secret would have been wrong and I get that too, but in the end, The Empire was simply trying to play it smart and nothing else. With the death of the Emperor perhaps there will be problems, but things often have to get worse before they can get better. It's sorta why the daedric princes technically aren't evil as much as they are simply forces of change and renewel like how forest fires are needed in order to help a forest grow. But even Ulfric, if you see him in Sovengarde ends up regretting his actions if I am not mistaken so that says a lot in my opinion. Which side wins in the civil war? The Dominion of course as Skyrim and the Empire played right into their hands :( My apology if my post was offensive or inaccurate or a repeat of others' posts
  12. Haha. I do alot of this stuff too. With the animal thing, sometimes I don't attack them even if they attack me. I just run or my follower kills them if I have one with me. I tried to be a stormcloak once and it didn't feel right. Imperial ever since babeh! The only giant I have ever killed and will kill is the one that appears at Lakeside Manor. I have to make sure I make a safe environment for my kids after all while I'm being a neglegent parent out in the wilderness and leaving them for months at a time ;) There's shouts in skyrim? :p Yeah, I don't use shouts either and I often forget they exist Lol.
  13. The Ring of Hiricine allows you to change whenever you want if you're a werewolf but getting back on topic Lol With the Dawnguard group I know you get to buy armored trolls and there's different kinds of crossbow bolts that you get as well if you do some of their side quests like explosive ones. From what I've seen, the benefits with joining Harkon are all in the being a Vampire Lord thing. Have you seen the perk tree for them and a list of their powers?
  14. After everything I did, I certainly had a character or two that was offended that there wasn't a path to becoming a High Ruler of some kind. I mean Thane? The other Dragonborn known was an Emperor I think but the best these guys can do for me is give me some title that really doesn't mean much of anything except that if I happen to steal a sweet roll or two that they MIGHT let m go with a warning? LOL So yeah, I'm pickin up what you're puttin down mah friend.
  15. I save the game right after the auto save happens when I walk outside or inside to a new area even though the game just saved and I don't know why. I collect books. I never (or rarely) actually read them, but whenever I see a book I have a compulsion to take it. Even when I am at the point where I have too much money and no longer need money for basically any reason at all, I leave bandits and vampires naked and if I am at the state that I am building (where I need all the cash I can get) I still won't loot anything off of Imperials or Stormcloaks. I HAVE to help the companions fight that giant ever since the vry first time I stumbled upon them not knowing what was going on and Aela said that I sucked greybeard balls and that I was a drinker of spoiled milk. I said never again. So whether my character intends to join them or not, I always jump into that fight. I always wear my finest clothes when I go to see a Jarl even though they never notice. :( I'm sure there's more crap that I do and some of it borders on OCD but that's all that I can remember for now and all I can remember for now that I'm not too embarassed about lol. This is a GREAT thread idea, wtg.
  16. I playd as Dawnguard but had Serana turn me into a Vampire Lord in the end just to see what all the hubbub was about and now I am going to make a character just to be a Vampire Lord as my current one would never do such a thing. But Dawnguard made Vampirism pretty cool which is frustrating because I'm prolly the one person that wasn't "bitten" (cheesy jokes make the world go round) by the vampire fad thing so vampires of any kind tend to irritate me. I'm all about being a werewolf though but without a mod of somekind I do feel like being a werewolf in Skyrim is lame and insignificant and that Dawnguard actually made that moreso. So as things stand, I gotta say that it is cooler to be with Harkon even though I have not done it yet but even if you join with Harkon, I'm pretty sure you have to kill the guy anyway and would still end up with the sword but I don't know.
  17. While most of the time I think I am unaffected by random NPCs dying as most of the time I don't find myself talking to them anyway as they typically don't seem that interesting to me, the NPCs involved in quests or whatever tend to be a diffrent story. Like when Kodlak died and he was the only one that died and he was naked, I was all kinds of WTF? cause I felt it was kinda dumb that he died the way he did. It didn't make sense to me and other times where I couldn't save someone who was being tortured or executed or whatever as the game would auto kill them anyhow was a little annoying. Kids can't die in my game, but after Heartfire I'd say there were a fw that tugged on my heartstrings for sure there. I originally got heartfire to build a house or two but then I ran into one of those little dumplings on the street and listened to their story and suddenly they were like Pokemon and I wanted to catch them all LOL.
  18. The thing is while I can agree that the Dark Brotherhood can be seen as evil they can also be seen as not being so evil which is why I said the evil is in your RP moreso than the game because technically I don't think you can play an evil character in Skyrim (game mechanic wise). I mean, a person can always come up with RP reasons why they are evil but are still saving everyone from dragons but in the game itself, you're still the hero. Some of the Daedra can be considered evil for sure like the pestilence one (I didn't even think of that to be honest so thanks Frosty) so that's a cool idea fo sho' Also, the civil war was done really well so neither side (Imperial vs. Stormcloak) is actually "evil" in anyway, they just have differences in opinion when it comes to how they should deal with things. Thieves guild is also not one I'd consider "evil" in anyway. I mean they have a code about not killing anyone so it is hard for me to consider that evil. Dark Brotherhood and the Daedra are the closest you're going to get to being evil in Skyrim in my opinion, but I am curious to see other answers to the question :D
  19. I wonder if it is possible technically because you're basically forced to complete many quests a certain way so other than killing innocent NPCs and whatnots (there's even a mod that lets ya slay kids if you want - I think) so in general, the evil would be more in the roleplay rather than actual game mechanics. LOL, though I admit my knowledge of Skyrim is pretty limited so someone else might have a better answer for you on this.
