I personally have no idea what were in the mind of the developers, but I can summarize what I've seen in my game so far (I've just moved from Haven, so, please, NO SPOILERS of the plot, I am speaking only of game mechanics): - I have to walk in these huge maps, without fog of war actually indicating if 2 min ago I've walked right or left at the rock. The result is that I have to re-walk the whole map about 3 or 4 times, for being sure to have covered the whole of it. - I keep pressing the reveal button, to find iron, grasses, ingredients, whatever. - I keep pressing it again, because it doesn't show you anything if you are just 20 centimeters lower than where the iron actually is. - Once you've found something (and there is something every 2 meters), you have to move the damn camera and trying to spot it with your eyes, since highlighting it with a faint yellow contour was surely a great idea, among light green and yellow grasses... - Then I give up and try to locate it on my compass... - Just to find out that the compass is simply not useful to actually spot the damn ingredient. - After 2 minutes looking around, you have to almost walk over it, or you won't be able to catch it. Of course, camera and movement are still dreadful. And I've opened DA2 for comparison: I am not asleep, they ARE dreadful ("It *is* filthy" quote). - In the meanwhile, other 5 spots are blinking and ringing around... but, hey!, those are the craft tools, or the tents, or the road signs... all things that are not going to disappear, so you will STILL seeing and hearing the blinking and you have to come back to check if there is something else, since again, you can't just glance and look, and compass is unreliable. - Have I already said that I can't remember if I have turned left or right at the rock? - So I check the image-map and it is so poorly drawn that I can't get any idea from it. Let's walk back from the start, AGAIN. In the meanwhile, I haven't yet understood if elf grass and iron will respawn, or if you haven't picked them up, they're lost. So I keep walking up and down, trying to loot everything I can. I don't even have time to check the view, for I am too focused on finding ingredients. So, what this open world is there for? Just a waste of time, from my point of view. And then, you find a location, but you can't reach it, for it's too high and there's no access nearby. You watch the image-map, but no guess from it. I find this "open world" 100% tedious. It is just a way to make people lose time walking up and down. I am here to play a ROLE play game, not a walk-and-collect one, I thought.

So, maps are quite big and the map image is 100% useless in showing where I've already been and where not. I've walked on a path on a mountain, but also the nearby path (that I had not walked in) is unveiled from the map image. Is there a way to see an actual fog of war WHILE PLAYING? Not in the map image, but in real-time game. Something like this: http://staraban.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/FogOfWarTutoLogoSmall.png So I can actually see where I've walked and where not.

Hello! Since default hair are simply dreadful, I've spent some times to download some good looking hair mods. They are simply great but... it seems they all override the same default hair. I think that, on about 20 default hair styles, 11 are different kind of bald heads, so I'd like to override those, not the only one with a ponytail. Is there any way to "move" the custom hair override action, in order to keep 2 custom ponytails and some less bald scalps?

So, I've started the game twice, just to stop it in the middle of the tutorial (I am skipping the bad camera and interface rant, here). No matter how long I try to fix my inquisitor, she has always the face of a terminally-ill, 2 hours from death. I've surfed the whole mod forum 3 times. Is there a damn way to REMOVE all the damn scars, veins, stains they have on their face? Is there a way to actually see pc and companions with a face that's not screaming "I've been jumping with my face through a vegetable mill for the latest 2 weeks"? And most important... is there a way to REMOVE the damn shine??? They all seem constantly soaked in water! Have a look here (random pic in the mod section) https://staticdelivery.nexusmods.com/mods/728/images/928-1-1443801120.jpg Why the hell has he constantly that sweaty look? The best part is that, except for a mod in which veins are removed, all the complexions I've found till now simply ADD moles, spots, scars, shine, etc... But the pic I see are, instead, somehow free of those. Is it just Photoshop post-processing? Or does it exist a mod to remove all those skin defects? I mean, you can add 3 different shade of eye-shadow to your inquisitor, but she has no idea what face powder is? Yeah, I know, it is a stupid request, but seriously, I got sick every time I look at my pc. T_T

A "rotating camera" in the create pc screen?
Vaalyah replied to Vaalyah's topic in Dragon Age: Inquisition's Discussion
Hmmm, I swear I had tried random mouse buttons, but nothing were happening. Maybe I should have kept pressed more "extensively" :-P Thanks! -
Hello everybody. I finished Inquisition download just 2 days ago and I've tried it just to check if all is working correctly. I've tried to create a pc, but the thing is, I have no idea how to rotate the model to see the profile while I modify it. The result was that my poor inquisitor has some sort of "hill" in the middle of her front -_-' In DAO and DA2, all I had to do was to rotate the model with my mouse, but here, it doesn't seem to work. Is my installation bugged? Is there a command I am missing? Or, if not, is there a mod to rotate the damn model? Help my poor inquisitors not to look like ugly aliens! Have mercy of them! Thanks.

Any chance we could vote in a poll for influencing your decision on the next task? -
I had not used any of the army available at all... I've called one group at the Enclave *after* defeating whatever darkspawn around. So they were just there, standing and looking around. When I've entered the other areas, I still have the possibility to call also those I've already "used". At the end, I had forgotten about the armies and so... well, I've killed everything with my small party  The worst thing has been having Earl Eamon around in the final battle. I've spent more time healing him, trying to prevent him from being killed, than actually killing enemies. Useless NPCs...

First of all, happy Christmas ^^ And after that, thanks for the gift. You are doing a wonderful job. Have you ever thought about writing a small tutorial about the steps you are following for creating these new heads? It would be great! -

Hey, keep your time, you are doing a wonderful job! I'm just sorry I'm not skilled enough to offer my help. But I'm improving, really! :turned: -
@ Tredmillion: thanks, I do my best for checking at least 3 times each word I write  @ lv000: If for "Ezio" you mean Ezio Auditore... the Italian sentences I've heard in that game are so... so... so... :wallbash: this. I can't understand they had not called some real Italian (and not probably some "My grand grand grand grand grand... grand father was Italian") person to actually check those dialogues! By the way, your signature is great! :D
-
 ok, I really haven't understood this thing. Why do you think Italian could be used for romantic talk? I've always heard everyone thinks French is romantic (not me, I have always hated how French "sounds"), but never Italian. However, here your first lesson. I = io you = tu he = egli she = ella it = we don't have the neutral gender, only male or female works we = noi you = voi they = essi (esse in the female form) :turned:

Since I've seen Bevil, I'm speechless... and I saw him the first time 2 days ago  -
I'm always afraid to offend people without even understanding how. It's a problem of different languages. Well, I'll try to do my best, thank you! ^^

On whose face are you working at the moment? I can't hide my curiosity about Casavir. I hate Casavir with all my heart, but I must admit that I've never understood why they made a paladin (= high charisma) so ugly and so totally lacking personality. So maybe you could be the one giving that poor man a hope  -

 Ok, I'm officially shocked! The work is HUGE! The result is stunning, though. But I'm afraid I'm far less skilled than you in creating textures like this. :_( (hey, why there isn't a crying emoticon on this forum? We can't live without a crying emoticon!) I was considering to learn Mudbox. Do you think Zbrush is a better choice? In case, why? -

Ok, so, let's start with something general. 1) which version of Max and Zbrush are you using? I've heard there are plug-in to export meshes from the game, but that they don't work with Max latest releases. I use 2013 version, with subscription, which means that, as soon as 2014 will be available, I'll get the automatic update. Is there a way to export meshes also in 2013 version? 2) it seems to me you have also retexured those heads. Are you painting directly in Zbrush and then rearranging texture in Max or are you creating the texture in Max, after converting to low-poly? 3) those textures are wonderful... which is your experience in painting? Just to know how much work I should do before obtaining something decent! -

To say the truth, I have TONS of questions I'd like to ask, but since this is your "mod progress" thread, I don't want to go too much off topic. In case you were going to open a tech thread about this, please, let me know! I could write there all my questions and everyone could read your answers. If not, tell me and wait for a PM! -

Oh my, your work is gorgeous! Where can I find more details on your technique? I'd like to know how to export models from the game and which tool you are using for sculpting. Are you working directly on Max or maybe on Mudbox/Zbrush and then back to Max? Are you also modifying the facial expressions/animations (let's admit: the basic facial animations in NWN2 are dreadful!)? We are developing a mod for NWN2 too and I think that using your heads would improve the game experience! ... Those heads are stunning! -
It's a long run for the 400.000th post... But for now, I am the winner.

Hello everybody. Since my 3ds Max skills are improving, I'd like to try modifying a game-mesh in it, just for practising. Do you know where I can find a tutorial or a list or whatever (maybe a tool?), for learning how to export models from games (I'm interested in NWN2, DA:O and KotOR 1 & 2) to Max and which file-format should I use to re-import the modified meshes in the game? Thank you very much

Hmmmm... a difficult question... To say the truth, I don't know. So I'm afraid you'll have to read the same, old, boring, useless sentences as usual. [raising the tone of 3 octaves] Hello everyone! [wave] I'm new, since registering (about 10 minutes ago) I've already got lost a dozen of times, I don't have idea where I should write what, but I am happy to be here and I hope to join the community! [back to a normal voice tones] Boring, eh? Yes, I know. But please, pretend this is the most original intro-post you had ever read! :whistling: :nuke: Oh, by the way, a disclaimer: my English is bad. Have mercy!
