  1. You, and a great many of the proponents keep asserting this, yet we have zero evidence to the contrary. All you have is 'faith' in Bethesda not doing this. When there has been a long history of similar statements from similar programs getting reneged upon because of money. While I agree that many of those claiming that this will 'kill free mods' and the like are absurd, I find your 'faith' vs evidence similarly absurd. Stop trying to defend this based on what you *want* to happen, and instead look at what *has* happened and use that as a guide. Please.
  2. In response to post #43150430. #43170285 is also a reply to the same post. But you are stepping down from a mod position right? Otherwise it comes off as a conflict of interest. One that I at least am not comfortable with.
  3. BOSS is ludicrously out of date. It doesn't place any of the newer patches where it should.
  4. In response to post #23033564. #23033654 is also a reply to the same post. This was my immediate reaction.
  5. The original creator pulled it because they didn't have the time to maintain the file. It was also not perfect as with some mod setups there are issues, notably when using her with certain multifollower mods. There are threads on other sites detailing and sharing some of these issues.
  6. Thats the wrong way to look at Hearthfire imo. Look at it more as a ton more assets than can (often are) added to mods to increase how well those mods are. Not to mention the benefits to various crafting/economy overhauls. I got married once and adopted kids just to see how it was handled and have skipped it ever since. I still like the byoh stuff (to a small extent) and value the dlc entirely for what other modders have done with it, notably Kryptopyr. As for cheap, there is a reason why the numerous sales have been pointed out. You do know that you can get Steam codes from other sites than just Steam? And yes, I bought all of my dlc on their own, even shelling out the money for Hearthfire on purpose. :P
  7. Well the majority of the NPC's don't have this problem, so there must be something special about the texture that Moira Brown, Lacy, etc. are using. How do I find out which textures they're using? I really don't have the first clue how facegen information is stored and I know they use a variety of .nif files for eyes, face, etc. The interaction between the normal map and face gen data has to be the cause of the issue. For the most part NV Redesigned and its fo3 counter part "fix" it, though not completely, and that changes up facegen and texture to do it. In general though I don't think its something you can completely eliminate, at least not without more work than its worth.
  8. If it can run NV then it can use Nifskope. Not to say that creating "new" stuff isn't difficult, it is. But doing mashups for the most part are pretty easy, especially once you figure out Nifskope/Edit programs. They give you the tools to do the minor stuff to make things work that most people really need. Diving into a real mesh program like Blender, or the Geck/CK is rather different.
  9. A retexture is the only way. To be more specific you need to change the normal maps.
  10. I haven't seen one, but why would you need a mod for this? Its pretty easy to just not keep those on your person. Between companions and mods like the van house you shouldn't need to carry a whole lot on your person anyway. Personally I never carry more then 2-3 anyway. Long/med/short range.
  11. What are you not looking for when it comes to PN? You can disable/not use most of it pretty easily.
  12. To fit it to males shouldn't take more than just a readjustment to match it up with the male head I would think and then some geck work maybe? Pretty quick/easy work in Nifskope. I recommend this quick tutorial: http://tesalliance.org/forums/index.php?/tutorials/article/98-static-mashups-in-nifskope/
  13. Most excellent, thanks! Now for the retexturing <>
