I was playing a few weeks ago, and suddenly the game crashed. Okay, that's happened. But now I cannot save. I cannot autosave, quicksave, manual save. I have not tried console saves, I was hoping it was a simple issue. But it's been a couple of weeks now, and I've uninstalled eSet Nod32 and MalwareBytes and reverted to Windows Defender. So far on my list from other locations, I have the following things to do: -Try to load game without NMM and mods enabled under a different User profile in Windows. -Clear out \Data\SKSE\Plugins -Uninstall NMM and reinstall it after removing all mods. -Completely uninstall game and start all over again. Note that this also happened when I tried to run Fallout 4. I selected the Creation Club (Just to see if maybe menus were the problem) and that crashed as well. I plan on loading Oblivion through OBMM and checking if I can save. Other programs can write to the folder just fine. I can post in a full system list, including mods, tomorrow, I am on a short time this evening as I have an appointment early tomorrow and need to get a lot done tonight before bed.

Right now I do not use the Steam version, but if it is better than the GOTY version, I may switch. I am less concerned with Battlehorn Castle.

I have two copies of Oblivion on my computer. The GOTY version I got and the Steam version that came with the Collectors Edition. I have my mods and OBMM set up for the old version (All I don't get is Battlehorn Castle, not too chuffed about that.) but BOSS wants to point towards the Steam version, not the older one. Do I have to now move everything to the Steam version and uninstall the old version to get my mods to sort, or is there a way to force BOSS to sort the old game? Note, I did try to install BOSS in just the Oblivion directory, and it decided to go sort the Steam version instead.

Okay, just started having this problem. Paying Fallout 4 and a mod crashed the game (Enclave X-02 Power Armor) and a warning from Windows firewall popped up. I said to allow Fallout 4, and then went in and added NMM into the allowed to access internet list. Still getting the "Login error: Timeout!" problem and cannot load mods in the program. I can access the servers just fine, so not sure if a full wipe and reinstall of NMM would help. Any ideas?

In response to post #40001115. That's not an NMM thing, as far as I can tell. It's a Steam thing. Steam doesn't detect me playing Fallout 3, even though I've played the entire game twice. But it picks up all my other games (Well, other than Oblivion, but that's because I'm not using the Steam version) without fail.

In response to post #36932180. Actually, there is a way to do the second. Under the Tools menu, you can Disable all Active Mods or Uninstall All active mods.

New machine, was looking to install these again after watching some YouTube videos and the Steam notice that they have the TSL Restored mod as part of their version. I have both the original instal discs and the collection (Which says it's Win 7 compatible.) I would like to drop these in without having to drag the old computer out (Which needs a new PSU), roll it back to Win XP (It's on 7 right now) and reinstall. I would prefer to just put them on the new Win 10 machine. But the installer locks up. Even when I set to run in compatibility mode and as admin. I will try again, but if anyone has any ideas, please let me know. Okay, I have this nice new higher end system and Skyrim has started crashing again. I put the WriteMinidumps=1 line into skse.ini and the files are writing, but with no data (Showing as 0K). I tried uploading them to a place that has an online reader and it says the files are un-readable. Have I missed something in the setup of SKSE? And the reason I did this was because random crashes started happening again and I can't tell if it's the mods or not. Checking for NMM update returns the error that the server could not be found. I have 55.6, but the automated check still tries and gives the error.

Okay, I cannot get ANY files today. Tried the Thunderchild shouts mod, and the newest version of CBBE, and even the updated Unofficial Hearthfire Patch and still getting the "Server unavailable" alert from NMM. Am in the US, trying from several different servers.

Only thing I have changed in Skyrim.ini is to add a line to remove the Bethesda intro. That's the only change. I will double check, though. I don't think any of the mods has added anything. Rebeky, I will look into that. Haven't heard of that one.

Running at low settings already. Can't go much lower than that.

Okay, I've been running with UFO for a bit, and I think it might have caused a conflict in my old savegame. I removed it properly, then reinstalled it. Crashes kept happening. So, I restarted, complete wipe of the old saves (After burning them off to DVD) and now I am having crash problems again. So, I think UFO might be the cause, but I'm not sure. So, I post it here, what is the best follower mod out there? So far, I am looking at Extensible Follower Framework and Amazing Follower Tweaks. because both work with Convenient Horses and I use that mod. Unless there's something better. Okay, after trying a few things, I removed all save games, and started a new game. After a CTD in creation, I managed to get going for about 3 hours. I removed UFO. Major lag at creation, I think because of the Enhanced Color Sliders. Game can run for 3 hours, crashes. Latency is down to about 150 ms. I am not hitting the memory cap. So either one of the mods I'm still using is causing a problem, or something running on my computer. I have only 2.8 GB of my 4 GB available, thanks to 32bit OS and older computer not liking things. I may install on the lappy and see if that will work, but I think I'll just have to either figure out which mod is causing the problems or create a minimalist profile to play under. Any other help anyone can give will be helpful.

Okay, update. I put in the new file for SKSE, and I got a quick stream of alerts, telling me I got Auriel's Bow, and learned three words of power, and had some arrows. It also unlocked the Oblivion Walker achievement that was stuck for me. The game ran okay for a bit, then crashed. So I restarted, ran for a bit more, and it crashed again. I looked at the Memory Blocks Log report and I'm not hitting the memory limit (Block 1, set at 512 shows it died at 255. Block 2 never got about 111.) I am unsure as to what else is going on here. I will try running the save editor next, but I'm nor sure what else to do here. EDIT: Ran with the save editor, found a lot of orphaned scripts from the Bathing Beauties mod that I had run for a bit. Now, latency is down to about 1800 ms. But the game still crashes. I wonder if it's just my computer. I was considering having a gaming login, but I think most of the services would still be running. I know my antivirus, firewall, and a few other security programs would still be running. So, I'm not sure what else to do but start pulling mods, or just surrender completely to never finishing the game.

Thanks for that. (Was offline all weekend, Sorry for late reply,) Will attempt that this week. As for uninstalling, I usually follow the mod creator's instructions. But a few mods did weird stuff. Some of the other ones I just never used after looking at them. Hopefully this will clear my problems, and lower the file size. 17-18K is just way too big.

Okay, in the past few months I have had a lot of CTDs after only a few hours of play. Now, before, I could go 10-12 hours before I might encounter a CTD, but lately it seems to happen after about 2-3, depending on my activities. Sometimes I can't even get 10 minutes of play. I wondered if it was a mod, so I uninstalled it and that didn't fix it. After some review, I am thinking it might be a script from a mod that I uninstalled a long time ago. Especially since my latency quickly approaches 3000 ms or higher. However, which mod that was I don't know. I don't want to have to do a complete reinstall again, and so I turn to the community to help. Some base information: System: P4 3GHz Hyperthreaded 4 GB RAM ATI Radeon X1600 series card with the last set of drivers 200 GB SATA HD Creative Labs Audigy SE 2 Sound card Win 7 32 bit. I had Insanity's Goldbrand and Umbra installed as well, but removed them because I didn't want to go hunting them down, and had better weapons at that point. I'm not sure what other information you folks need.
