{}:x:x:{}:::::::::::::::::::> Handwavium <::::::::::::::::::{}:x:x:{} " a term used when a science fiction writer "waves his hands" at reality and hard science for the sake of the plot. Refers to all unrealistic or impossible technology, such as faster-than-light travel, teleportation, artificial gravity, etc. Handwavium is extensively used in movies, more so than in literature, due to the need to mass market movies to a scientifically ignorant public and because filming realistic space travel is relatively expensive. Also a Primitive New Vegas Mod would be the perfect setting for a Grognak The Barbarian companion. Also shaman and wisemen/elders would have a little knowledge of pre war technology and to the rest of the tribesmen would think the shaman or wisemen/elders would be wielding magic. And after 200 years after the bombs dropped there could be temperate climates depicted with Green Mods to make the desert have more green flora and fauna returning. All through the mythical properties of Handwavium.

With nuclear strikes there are two types that I know of 1. Air burst strike that is very destructive but doesn't create as much radioactive fallout. 2. Ground impact strikes that do cause much more fallout debris to be hurled into the air currents. If the nuclear strike were split 50/50 between ground strikes and air burst strikes a nuclear winter is possible, granted the closer to the equator the more temperate the nuclear winter is going to be however for the natives who have lived in that area their whole lives will feel the temperature change the greatest whereas refugee's escaping the nuclear winter farther north or south of the equator might find the climate moderate. Who knows maybe there were orbital pre-war cryonic beam weapons to help expedite the nuclear winter/mini ice age. Perhaps the mythical element of Handwavium had something to do with the nuclear winter to take place.

Globally there are now approximately 17,300 nuclear warheads. (Upated as of early 2013) Russia 8,500 United States 7,700 France 300 China 250 United Kingdom 225 Israel 80 Pakistan 100-120 India 90-110 North Korea <10 Estimated Total: 17,300 That is allot of nukes and the great war happens in 2077 so no telling how many nukes existed then so more than enough to throw the entire planet into a centuries long ice age. I honestly don't find it an impossibility for the great war to cause an global nuclear winter and bombing most communities into a stone age.

“I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.” ~ Albert Einstein. I was thinking after a global nuclear exchange the world would be much more devastated, maybe even bombed back to the stone age. So has a mod been made that turns the Mojave wasteland into a frozen wasteland filled with primitive tribals fighting for the few remaining resources left in the barren wasteland.? Maybe Fiends could be renamed with tribal names and given tribal clothes and gear.? I know a nuclear winter mod exists for New Vegas that would be perfect for a mod like this or maybe not, I'm not sure if a mod like this already exists.

Please delete this thread, I thought it was a good idea at the time and would spark peoples imaginations and get a conversation started and people would start bouncing ideas back and forth. But I was wrong and now I'm embarrassed to have even posted it.

I was also thinking maybe the mod could have prehistoric versions of the beast races, I mean it wouldn't exactly be prehistoric earth but the two moons kind of make that point. Stalhrim weapons looks almost stone age as well and would fit in pretty well with a prehistoric environment. Tribal battles over hunting grounds with the humanoids Vs beast races competing for resources or maybe even peaceful trading/barter settlements with shelters made from Mammoth tusks and hides, small cooking fires in the shelters and larger bon fires outside to keep predators at bay. Snowberry wine for celebrations, passing the wine skin around while Mammoth skull drums and wooden flutes play music after a successful day of trading. ( Ice Age Shelter Composed of Mammoth Bones 13,000 BC. Mezhirich, Ukraine )-> http://i912.photobucket.com/albums/ac330/Morgwynn/wpid-Photo-Mar-20-2013-627-PM_zpsfahlwiib.jpg

How about this.? http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/50265/?

So not long ago I read the " Earths Children " series by Jean M. Auel and watched the movies " Quest For Fire " and "10,000 BC " and thought to myself Skyrim reminds me of those cold almost ice age type environments only without the towns, cities and fantasy civilizations. Skyrim already has Woolly Mammoths, Saber Tooth Tigers, Cave Bears and Snow Bears and many of the other animals that existed during the ice age. The clubs Giants use look prehistoric and the clothes that the Skaal villagers wear could pass for prehistoric clothes. Cavemen would use Torches to frighten Mammoth herds and separate a straggler and chase him off a cliff or down a steep hill so using a spear or bow in the game could be kept to a minimum. Cave dwellings could be made with assets in the G.E.C.K. fairly easily I would imagine. So I guess my questions are, has a mod like this been made before and if not what kind of work would be required to make one like what I'm proposing.? http://i912.photobucket.com/albums/ac330/Morgwynn/questforfirebdcap2_original_zpszwjbas91.jpg

Fallout 4 Mods you'd like to see
Morgwynn replied to charwo's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Discussion
I'd like to see a Fallout: 4 version of Realistic Needs and Wet and Cold. The character would need to eat and drink to stay healthy, rain would make a character wet and cold and would have to stand near an open flame or a fire barrel to dry off and warm up, also getting enough sleep would be important as well. -

A couple of companion mod ideas
Morgwynn replied to immortalfrieza's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Ideas
When my companions block my path I just " tcl " command myself past them and then " tcl " back to normal and it only takes a few seconds to do that. You could try that maybe. -
I tested it a little bit last night and only some of my followers kept up to me Russell, Willow and Sunny Smiles kept up to me but Deadpan from Boulder Dome kept falling behind and getting stuck on the map. Tonight i'll try with vanilla companions. I used player.setav speedmult 150 with Russell, Willow and Sunny Smiles but tonight i'll use the vanilla followers and player.setav speedmult 200. Oh and the ones who kept up weren't very far behind, when I would stop I would do a three count 1 . . 2 . . 3 and they would be caught up with the exception of Deadpan who kept getting lost on the map for some reason.

Mod Request: Mr. Handy Helmet.?
Morgwynn replied to Morgwynn's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Ideas
I seen that one has already been done before by prodlimen I think because I seen this screenshot. ( http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/images/91305/? ) only I've looked all over and haven't been able to find that specific mod. I'm going to ask prodlimen about the screenshot and see what happens. -

Hmm that is strange, for me when I quit to desk top the whole fallout game crashes but I've never had to restart my computer before. I've run my entire load order through FNVEdit looking for an error that would be responsible but haven't found one. Anyway best of luck and I hope you find a solution to your problem, only wish I could be of more help .

Fallout 4 Mods you'd like to see
Morgwynn replied to charwo's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Discussion
@charwo The protagonist entered the Vault on October, 23rd 2077 just as the bombs fell and awoke from cryo-sleep in the 2270's or 2280's so the improvising of materials and idea's would have to come from whatever the Vault Dweller has at his disposal. I suppose the Institute would have a better grasp of what you are talking about since they have the knowledge of 3rd world technology's available to them. Heck I'd be happy with a Hydraulic Powered Pogo Stick for transportation or some other kind of ground vehicle.
