so this is difficult to explain but the npcs in my game seem to be located just a bit to the side physically of where they are visually. its not by alot, maybe a foot or two but with quest markers and such its really obvious since it highlights an invisible person standing right next to them. the visual character acts perfectly normal, it just isn't physically there but rather off to the side a bit and the worst part is its like this for enemies as well!! I was shooting super mutants and kept missing perfect headshots because of this bug. In order to hurt them I have to aim a bit to the left (their right). not sure when this started. help appreciated.

so yeah title says it all. home plate is the only zoned player home I have been able to find in the game and I like the idea but it has a glaring shortcoming, you cannot hook it up to your supply network. This is a major issue since it means you have to maintain a separate supply of materials there in order to use it as a proper home base from which to upgrade or craft things. if someone could figure out a way to fix this problem that would be great.

so for the last week or so i've been having a strange problem with skyrim. whenever i alt-tab out then switch back to skyrim it immediately starts playing the battle music for the game. in places where there are no enemies of any kind. it's not really game breaking and i could always mute the music if it really got me but it plays each time without fail and continues until the end of the song, which takes a minute or two. it's honestly more irritating than anything else and one of the reason i alt-tab out of skyrim is to play something on youtube so i have to deal with the battle theme playing alongside whatever i feel like listening too at the time. any help would be greatly appreciated, i haven't installed any mods recently which mess with the game music as far as i know.

nope no luck, i can't see a way to track down the ID of the shader effect and without knowing that i can't remove it in that way. i tried the dispellallspells option but it didn't do it, still see through.

so yeah i recently noticed that my character is pretty much transparent. he's not invisible but you can see through him. while this doesn't really cause any problems in the game i do find it irritating and was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to fix this? to clarify he can use invisibility items and abilities and it does make him invisible, when it wears off though it seems it's back to transparent. if i had to guess i think that a nazgul mod i got recently caused it but i'd prefer to not have to uninstall it since i actually do like the items i got from the mod and uninstalling it could cause problems. with an NPC i'd normally disable then enable them via console but i can't do this to my pc. anyone got any ideas?

Update on NMM status, more site fixes implemented

this is frustrating but i understand how troublesome this can of thing can be and while i can't use NMM to download mods anymore i can still use it to install or uninstall them so it's alright for now. -
hey, i was having this same problem and also the game would crash during the intro sequence. i was at my f*#@ing wits end and getting really frustrated but the showracemenu pre-cache killer worked like a charm. i tried everything else short of cleaning the mod files and reinstalling the game to no avail but as soon as i installed that mod everything went fine. thanks tonytitan, you saved me from an aneurism.

so yeah i love crafting but i hate having to lug around a pickaxe and a wood axe. i know theres mods out there which let you conjure bound versions, change their weight, or my favorite blast ore out of the rocks with fire spells but i'd like to propose something different. as some WoW players might know there is an item in world of warcraft called a hammer pick i believe. it serves as both a hammer and a pickaxe which allows you to blacksmith and mine with just one item. obviously you don't need blacksmith hammers in skyrim but we do still need a pick axe and occasionally we also have need of a wood axe. is it possible to combine the two into a new item that serves both functions? maybe make it craftable or something? that way i won't have to carry around two heavy tools and can just carry one. this is particularly helpful for anyone who uses frostfall since you need a wood axe early on to build fires quickly and i don't think anyone likes to pick between a wood axe or a pick axe when dying of exposure is a concern.

hey i use UFO and i am having difficulties with certain followers. when i tell them to follow me they say something like "sure ok" but they don't actually start following me. when i talk to them again it still shows the follow me dialogue option. on another follower i'm having a similar issue where i can't get the follow me dialogue to show up. instead it just says "it's time for us to part ways" but no matter how many times i click the option it won't work. to make matters even wierder this follower isn't actually following me. sometimes when i click the part ways option the upper left corner of the screen confirms they have left my service but STILL NO CHANGE. follow me option does not present itself and it still shows "it's time for us to part ways" in it's place. also so far this issue is limited to a small number of modded followers. not all of my mod followers are like this, so far just 4.

i'd like to thank everyone who contributed to this, including the person who posted it. for the entire day i have been trying to figure out why i was having almost this exact issue and was starting to consider a total reinstall and new game but thanks to this i learned i just had too many textures on, sparing me from going through that nightmarish ordeal a second time. just so everyone knows it turns out too many textures can also cause building reference info errors in TESV edit so if you start getting long sections of error lines when checking your mod load order, even if it's just for one or two mods in there, but the process finishes saying successful/ finished then disable some/all of your textures and start experimenting to find the right balance between aesthetics and being able to actually play the game. -
this has been a slight problem since i started paying PC but previously it has primarily restricted itself to when my character dies and i don't manage to manual load fast enough, something i can learn to tolerate and even avoid outright. whats happening now is a bit more irritating and harder to avoid. this started after installing 3 mods, SKSE (skyrim script extender for those like me who did not know what the acronym stood for until google searching it), SKYUI and the dance of death mod. the issue only seems to trigger when i load an autosave while ingame. for example when i screw something up and load to my last autosave to try again. this is when it crashes. continue option from main menu screen works fine and i haven't tried loading a manual player made save, will try that later.
