Black Leather? How or where do you get it?
TwilightDB replied to Stormyblade's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
If you have the Bandolier and Pouches mod installed; there is a black leather recipe which requires: 1 Leather 1 Frostbite spider venom You create the black leather using the forge under miscellaneous. -
I'm in agreement with IsharaMeradin about not purposely grinding away just to develop those skills you want asap; it's the quickest way to wear down your enjoyment of the game is when you treat it like a job, just play it for the enjoyment and admiration that is Skyrim. The character you are developing has almost the same skill tree sets i'm going along currently with alchemy included that helps in enchanting your own equipment. Take advantage of buying into training each time you gain a level when you can afford to; also any skills that develop faster than what you want like "Speech craft"; roll it over into legendary.

Trying to find the right ENB for me, tired of plastic skin :(
TwilightDB replied to TwilightDB's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Forgot to add that during the initial install and game play, two things i noticed and just checked. There was a error notice that i have more than one Skyrimpref.ini running last night; i just looked after watching a how to video for project ENB today and found out I have one in my User Document Library save folder and the one in my Skyrim game folder. Also, last night, i already had a d3dx9_42.dll in the Skyrim folder while the installation asked for the ENB d3dx9.dll to be put in. These added to my confusion on how to use the ENB. Am i suppose to only have one Skyrimpref.ini and which one is it? Do i delete the one in the document library and not the one in the Skyrim folder or do i keep and make the line changes to both? Do i delete the d3dx9_42 or keep that while i put the d3dx9.dll in the same area? -
Sooo, i feel like a idiot trying to understand ENBs and how to install one which didn't work out well for me and admit i'll need a lot of help with it. I'm running a I7 computer with 24gb of ram and a Nvidia 580 GTX 1.5gb video card which i thought might be good enough. I've tried running Project ENB last night winding up as a epic fail causing me to track down all the components before the game was playable again. I got this pollution like haze over 3/4 of the screen when it did run and nothing looked like the screenshots; so any suggestions on what ENB would be easy to use/install would be appreciated. The plastic skins looks fugly when my character goes underneath shadows.

A NPC follower or a Follower mod like UFO, EFF, etc? For followers, if it's not the vanilla follower like Lydia,J'zargo, etc; then it's pretty much any follower download off the Nexus that looks interesting like Inigo, Thorald Grey-Maine, Vilja, Ceriwind, etc. If it's a follower mod that lets you change their outfits, weapons and command them to do this and that; it'll be based on personal choice of play. I use "UFO" and "My Home is your Home" for reasons that UFO is a simple and basic follower mod that has a high endorsement rating; My home is your home is a mod that allows you to relocate any follower currently following you from their base home like say Breylnne from the College of Winterhold to live my home located in Whiterun with Lydia. I hope this helps?

How much hp/magic res do your high level characters have?
TwilightDB replied to EnaiSiaion's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Hee hee, define "typical fed character"? On that note, I would think that is based on people's own personal preferences to how they prefer to deal with such bosses. For myself, I wear a ton of high level fire, frost, magic, poison and shock resistance items as i find or make them (helpful, especially if the items are double enchanted ones) then top off with health regeneration items. Once, you've hit 100% resistance to any spell attack; it's pretty much comes down to clubbing each other over the head with a stick. In my case, archery is my preferred weapon of choice so location is extremely important to me as well as my level of sneaking. -
Who is the Dragonborn's unidentified "friend".
TwilightDB replied to LordSarcasm's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
She must've moved if she was back there, as she's normally standing by or leaning on Farengar's desk when you return with the stone. I don't recall if Delphine was standing by/leaning on the main office desk, just that one time that i've found her in the back room which i've assume is where she always is. -
Who is the Dragonborn's unidentified "friend".
TwilightDB replied to LordSarcasm's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Farengar makes the most sense to me as the person sending "Letters from a Friend" since he was given the dragon stone which tells of the ancient dragon burial sites and possibly the sites of the word walls; he realized that you were the dragonborn after what happened at the first encounter at the whiterun watch tower as the rumours spread around that you've absorbed the dragon's soul; if he studied the dragon lore half as much as Esbern did. Whiterun is the most travelled place by the dragonborn, so it wouldn't be hard for a court wizard to figure out through the town's rumour mill where dragonborn came back from with all that loot to sell off at War-maiden's or Belethor's Shop and what travel patterns the dragonborn has. Now the arguement could be used that dragonborn in later levels don't always go back to Whiterun where Farengar lives and works, but remember this that Farengar is most likely a graduate from the College of Winterhold and Toldir said on many occassions that the "College looks after it's own, no matter what" which means that Farengar has connections with every court wizard in every major city and some minor ones too to pass along any messages post haste if neccessary. Again, if he knew half as much as Esbern, it makes me wonder if Farengar is actually Esbern's understudy or replacement if Esbern was no more in one way or the other; this make me think he does have some sort of connection to the Blades or a Blade in hiding. He certainly does hold a extreme sense of curiosity towards dragons On a side note, I'm not sure if anyone encountered this before, but in one of my very very earlier replays, after i've given Farengar the dragonstone, I "think" i've checked around the two back rooms soon after and the one to the left (with the desk?) had Delphine hiding in it or a NPC with a hood covering her face, but the name Delphine was hovering over it's head. This tends to lead me to believe that Farengar did hand over the dragonstone to Delphine after it's retrieval. And at the same time, how is it that Delphine knew you were the dragonborn (to be tested and confirmed via the Jurgen Windcaller's quest) if she was in Riverwood inn unless she wasn't but was at dragon's reach during the time of the first dragon attack. -
The most heart touching moments in Skyrim
TwilightDB replied to FreddeN93's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
There is several heart touching moments for me mainly because i'm sentimental: Major Moments: Quest: Laid to Rest - With the ghost Helgi being the most touching. A child who could be eternally scared and tired if not helped. In the end, she thanks the hero/heroine in a peaceful happy way saying that her mother is calling before disappearing forever. Quest: A Love Beyond Death - With Lu-ah, Fjori and Holgeir. To help Fjori and Holgeir, you have to defeat/kill Lu-ah only to go into the back room where Lu-ah lived alone; on the table in front of her bed is a letter from the imperial military informing her of her husband's death and a single flower in a gem holder which made me look around her room and she had her husband's uniform on the shelf. I left only taking items from the main chest and left behind what i thought she held most dearly in life. Quest: Blood on the Ice - With Calixto. It had to be done, to save lives, but he certainly was a life's tragedy from losing someone he cared so much for just like Lu-ah. Adopting Children: Sofie and Lucia - Without any multiple adoption mods used, these two to me are the most deserving to be adopted from my experience so far, one begs for money to buy food and such; the other sells flowers in a cold city (flowers dont really grow well in arctic weather). They both don't appear to actually have a home to go to like the orphanage or a family that semi take in or feed them. Lucia often goes into the Whiterun tavern to live out the night and i'm not really sure where Sophie actually lives at during the night. Animal Companions: Meeko for sure, i love animals and cant bear to see one suffer like Meeko would being by itself loyal to a dead master. ( i can't find Meeko's shack yet again, argh!) Minor moments Any quest that have a potential follower stay at the site of the quest alone like Illia from Repentence, Erandur from Waking Nightmare, Goldir from Hillgrim's <sp?> Tomb, Arenea from the Black Star. I make them Stewards at my Hearthfire homes or have them live there as additional security  -
Housecarls not leaving service when Dismissed
TwilightDB replied to TwilightDB's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Thanks for the advice! All the input got me to think about all the mods that is related to followers and it was my own fault for "Not" noticing that the newest version of UFO is pretty much stand alone and doesn't require the UFO Hearthfire patch of which i've removed. When i started up the current game after removing that patch; Rayya, Gregor and Valdimir all acted properly and left my service to return home when i dismissed them. :wallbash: Again, thank you all for your input, It was simplier than i thought and you guys helped me think it through with your advice! -
Can't enter and go through Northwind Mine
TwilightDB replied to TwilightDB's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Hmmm, the only mod i could imagine that may affect it could be the "Sincar Barrens" rest areas mod since they are scattered all around the world of Skyrim. I'll uninstall that mod to see if that fixes it, thank you for the insight  [editted] Okay, so i've removed the Sincar Barrens mod and it was not impacting the Northwind Mine which now makes me wonder what else it could be since i dont really have any other mods that much closer and could interfere in that area. I guess i'll be rock climbing from now, Northwind Mine contains iron ore i think and that is plentiful in skyrim. -
Housecarls not leaving service when Dismissed
TwilightDB replied to TwilightDB's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Thank you for your reply Georgiegril  I am using the hearthfire patch for UFO and i was incorrect that all my housecarls was affected; it appears to be the housecarls related to hearthfire like Rayya etc. The base housecarls like Lydia are not affected as far as i can tell. I have used BOSS to get the load order, however i am unfamiliar with TES5edit and afraid i would mess up. UFO was never removed but updated whenever i see a newer version and the current game is a new one (guilty of trying out new mods) :woot: -
Does anyone else have issues with this mine? The Graybeards sent me to look for this Word Wall by going through the Northwind Mine to reach the peak. I can see the Mine name when i'm standing in front of the mine doors however it won't let me enter the mine when i click on the doors. I've managed to reach the word wall after founding a spot on the other side which i could climb the rock facing that comes to a overhang over the dragon perched there (perfect sniping position); it's annoying that the mine wont let me in and wondered if anyone else has the same experience.

Hi Everyone, not sure if this is a technical issue or if it's a mod related issue. All/any of my housecarls won't leave my service after I check up on their stats or change their outfits so i'm wondering if it might be one of the compatibility mods that could be causing it or not. I had to reload to a earlier save prior to asking them to follow me. Using "setfollowercount" to 0 didn't help It's weird since i have never had issues with the housecarls before until this game. I have Inigo and Thorald Gray-Mane with the Vanyan compatibity mod installed Inigo is v.1_1b Thorald is v1.2 (which is finally working for me :teehee: ) Vanyan Follower Compatibility mod v.0.6.6b I'm using UFO for it's ease of simplicity to use and Hearthfire is installed, no other DLCs. Thanks in advance!

Nexus Mod Manager is not finding the Nexus server?
TwilightDB replied to TwilightDB's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I found that by downloading the newest Nexus Mod Manager and installing it over the old one helped. However you need to log onto the Skyrim Nexus first and then log onto the newer version of the Nexus Mod Manager afterwards that it works at least for me. Maybe try that? -
Lately, i'm encountering a lot of the minor side quests bugged in like i can't complete them. For example/s: 1) Shahvee's amulet of Akatosh or Kynerath. I killed all the bandits in the cave and looked in the chest, no amulet appeared however the quest marker arrow points outside the cave and when i go outside, it then points back into the cave. 2) Moss Mother Cave around Falkenreath, I helped a NPC recover the bodies of his friends, met him back in Falkenreath, however, the quest has not been completed. No Urns of his friends at the mouth of the cave either. 3) The Captain of a cargo vessel in Windhelm complained about his crew going rogue and ask me to go punish them. I killed the bandit chief and the quest marker for him still shows up in the same room and not back to Windhelm. All these incompleted quests is really getting to me since some involves favors and such towards becoming a thane of that particular reach. All these side quests haven't been removed from the queue list as being completed. I'm wondering if i need to reinstall the whole game to fix all the problems i'm encountering including the "Blood on the Ice" quest in Windhelm as well as the rockslide that prevents me from going inside Northwind Mine to reach the Northwind Dragon's lair?

Is anyone else experiencing this? I tried to log onto my manager and it can't find any server and in turn wont log me on. I don't even know if i can update my older version with the new one without losing all the existing mods that i have.

Ulfberth War-Bear disappeared from Whiterun
TwilightDB replied to TwilightDB's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Placeatme is bad. Don't use it. May i ask the reason so i can understand why it's a bad code to use? Would it create a conflict? I've already used it and didn't notice any issues at least yet. -

There is a "Start New Topic" button on the right hand side of each forum that you want to post in that you click on. -
Hi Everyone, I thought to ask around to see if this happened to anyone else or if anyone can help me bring him back from where ever he went on vacation to? I've looked in Warmaidens one day and he wasn't in there. There were no attacks inside Whiterun as far as i know: i've checked around outside Warmaidens, around Breezehome, inside the Bannered Mare, in the hall of the dead, broke into his home to see if he was in there too, went to the skyforge in case he was standing there after kodlak's death and i cant locate him at all. :wallbash: I dont think he can leave Whiterun, but not sure of that at the moment. Is there a console code that i can use to bring him back?

I need help with the Blood on the Ice Quest =(
TwilightDB replied to TwilightDB's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
The thing is that when I enter Windhelm for the first time; I head straight to the graveyard and the victim is Susanna the Wicked laying on the crypt surrounded by the three witnesses like she was already dead the same day I set foot inside the front gates. I guess that this specific quest has always been buggy like DyvimSlorn said? I'll try pickpocketting the key as soon as I get that skill going which could be awhile. Thank you for your input! -
Okay, so my Skyrim game seems to be behaving badly lately, hahah. This time I was attacked at my lakeview home by a dragon which was killed and the soul absorbed leaving the skeletal husk behind. The skeleton doesn't disappear and stays there, is there any way to get it to go away? Something similiar happened in my last Skyrim game except it was a dragon skeleton inside Solitude city itself. I didn't install any dragon mods and i don't use SKSE or any related SKSE mods; so i don't know what might be going on.

I've been playing Skyrim over a few times and each time, the "Blood on the Ice" quest is bugged in some way that it seems like i can never complete it to the point that i won't be able to get the house in Windhelm. I've installed the latest skyrim patch 2.00 and this time the guard doesn't show up around the site of the murder where Susanna the Wicked lays and the three witnesses are standing around repeating their lines; I've reloaded the save just before i enter Windhelm several times thinking it might be a specific time and still no luck! Please help  I'm playing on a PC version of the game.

I'm thinking about getting a Asus laptop recently and was looking at the system requirements for Skyrim, the specs are below. My question is: Would Skyrim run properly with Windows 8 or should I have Windows 7 loaded on the unit instead; it's sort of come to my understanding that Windows 8 was/is not really that great and there was a protest over that OS.
