  1. Yep i sent bethesda a feedback about this type of stuff. I told them they should take notes from the nexus. The User interface for mods sucks on the xbox. The bethesda.net site is nowhere near as user friendly as this one. And i could go on and on. With a shoestring budget you are doing a hell of alot better of a job than bethesda. As far as practicality and user friendliness, at the very least. But then again they are already rich and need not to worry about things like this. Very sad indeed. Dont get me wrong i am greatful for console mods since my pc wouldnt hanle fo4, but the lackluster way they are doing things, when as u explain above there are tons of documents and evidence of what works and doesent. Because of years of work from the modding community. Then they step in acting like the new kids on the block and as if they dont know what they are doing. Why not take example from a site like the nexus that has been years in the making and works quite well. Because they like to slap this crap together and then let the modding community fix the problems, so they dont have to. Its like having an army of free workers fixing all your mistakes. Absolutley disappointed with bethesda. I love the game, i love the mods, I hate bethesda doing things in such a lackluster way. Things that have already been done better for years. For a company with so much money why are most of the user created sites like the nexus just flat out better.
  2. Using beta update? If so it have to do with certain textures. Look for the topic about it here
  3. Its texture mods causing this... instead of invalidate try moving your texture folder to desktop launch the game shouldn't crash. If so u need to figure out which texture causing issue.
  4. Thank you. Im pretty new to this. As far as making mods and not just modding. I will most likely have more questions. Could you point me toward a good tutorial/tutuorials, for this kind of thing?
  5. I would like to do some retexturing of fallout in my own way. But in vanilla fallout there is no textures folder. How can i access the vanilla textures to change them?
  6. Great too see.... finally i hope you have some good gaming ahead of you. Thing is bInvalidateOlderFiles=1 Will load those loose files like textures faster. And will override sResourceDataDirsFinal= which is why it is fine to leave blank. But i dont want too confuse you any further just play your game now that its working. Cheers
  7. Im so sorry your having so much trouble. You can restore your ini too the way you had it within the tool itself by going too the settings tab and clicking restore ini backup. You should screenshot the tabs of the tool so i can see what you changed. Nothing should cause ctd with the tool unless u did something wrong. Only thing you needed to change was in the tweaks tab make sure enable plugins is highlited and invalidate archives highlited. If i were you i would restore backup ini, make sure your game is working again. then just make sure those 2 things are highlited and dont change anything else. hit save. Mods should work....
  8. Do you run nmm as admin? Right click nmm shortcut go too properties. Then go to compatibility tab. Tick the run as administrator and then click apply. Hope this helps. This will make sure it runs as admin every time.
  9. Strange ive used this version of falout and mods remain intact... make all your ini files and also your plugins.txt file read only before launching the game.
  10. I have windows 8.1 and no issues. But i do run nmm, fallout, and config tool as admin every time.
  11. The update disables mods when you launch the game by editing your ini and or plugins.txt file.(Read bottom) Which is why your ini must be set too read only when you launch the game. That is why you must launch the game using nmm or another method that keeps your plugins enabled. Have you yet tried configuration tool by bilago? You can find it here on nexus and it will make your job a lot easier. It has options too enable plugins and invalidate older files. So you wouldnt even have too edit your ini manually the tool will do it for you. The tool will also set ini too read only after saving. So i always save then open nmm. Nmm will warn you that your ini is set too read only and ask you if you want to change that. Just say no to both. But if it says your plugins.txt is set too read only let it change it too not. Then launch fallout4 from nmm itself. If you insist on doing this manually you will have too ensure your ini files are set to read only before launching your game. Also... there is something you may be missing. Go too search in windows. Type C:/users/YOURUSERNAMEHERE/appdata/local The appdata folder is hidden in windows so this is how you can find it. Inside the local folder there should be a fallout4 folder. Inside you will find a plugins.txt This txt file should contain all the names of your plugins. If not that is your issue the whole time. So does Fallout4.ini and Fallout4Custom.ini need to be copied into the steamapps common Fallout 4 folder then? No... just the fallout4prefs.ini should be there. Is there a Fallout4 folder inside of your Fallout4 folder?

  13. Damn i wish i would have caught you before uninstall everything. You said above that the ini files did not match. Im assuming the one in your documents folder had the correct lines. If the one in your game dir was missing the correct lines that was probably your problem. There is only supposed to be one ini file in that folder so thats fine.
  14. Somebody please... I know my machine is good enough cpu too run this game the gpu is where i am lacking and if i could borrow some ram for my vram i could play this amazing game.
  15. My apologies after looking at all of your ini The only thing i mentioned to do differently is to make sure both of your fallout4prefs.ini have the correct lines. Not just the one in documents/mygames/fallout4. And also make sure you launch the game from nmm. And if you dont use configuration tool by bilago i highly recommend that. If your using fose to launch your game maybe try nexus mod manager too point to fose instead of fallout4.exe So you can launch fose through nmm.
  16. These are the instructions i would use because they worked for me. In your fallout4.ini.... not fallout4prefs.ini. Make sure there is nothing after the equals sign on this line found under [Archive] sResourceDataDirsFinal=. Too override this setting and make sure all of your loose files get loaded correctly add this line under the archive tab instead. bInvalidateOlderFiles=1. Now your loose files will load. If you have a fallout4custom.ini these changes will need too be made too that ini as well. Then in both of your fallout4prefs.ini , One which is located in in documents/mygames/fallout4. And another inside the fallout4 folder of your game dir. Too locate right click on the shortcut of your game and click open file location. Then double click on the Fallout4 folder that is inside of your Fallout4 folder. The path too my fallout 4 is C:/users/name/programfilesx86/Fallout4/Fallout4. So it is Fallout4 folder inside Fallout4 folder. Change the ini in documents and the Fallout4 folder too have this line under the [Launcher] section. bEnableFileSelection=1.This will make your plugins load. Now you must have nexus mod manager or some other launcher too launch your game because after update 1.2 The game launcher automatically disables your plugins. Also recommended you make all your ini read only , after changing them. An easy way too do all of this is just too have configuration tool by bilago found on the nexus. This tool can do all of the work i just mentioned with a few clicks. And also get nexus mod manager too launch your game with and select which plugins you want loaded. I hope this helps somebody.
  17. is probably one of your other texture mods overwriting the nude texture mod.
  18. So... I have an radeon hd8610g laptop with 768mb video memory. 8gb ram. But total video memory shows as 4224 with 3456 of that as shared memory. Im not getting that much though because fallout would run fine if i was. So i use enboost to try to force size as 2048 or 4096 only my fps dont change at all between those settings. In vram size test i got a number of 28000 something. So i have tried too force some higher numbers as well but never getting any benefit. My fps stays around 10 im using every texture optimization mod i could find too even get that. Im not running any backround services but needed ones. I have tried not forcing vram size. The fps just dont change like enboost is doing nothing. I get the startup message and i can shift plus enter too see enb menu in game. Cant for the life of me figure out why its not working. Would love if someone could help me troubleshoot this. I usually dont use any overlay programs because i know they can conflict with enboost but i did run fo4 performance monitor too see video memory and as i suspected my vram would not go over the 768 dedicated even with forcevramsize true in enblocal.ini
  19. Somebody please make a mod too change size of your character. Did they really make everyone in the game the same height again...? Immersion breaking as hell if you ask me.
  20. Yeah i made a thread about this as well... Sadly we probably wont see this until creation kit release.
  21. Thats what i figured. I used too use shield on back ect. in skyrim. But sword on back was the default. And in new vegas weapon on back was vanilla game. Lol the carry weight is also rediculous in fallout 4 i have 1 str and can carry 200 some pounds because of pocketed clothes. Bonkers... and i wish they did something with the weapon it just dissappears. Sorry im ranting. thanks for reply
  22. Oh i c... too bad. Thanks for respnse
