I always felt blocking was severely blown out of proportion in fallout 4 to the point of being extremely unbalanced and tedious, like someone is able to block an attack from a super sledge with their bare hands or with a small one handed weapon such as a knife or baton, not to mention how often enemies spam block, it's ridiculous. Is there a mod that fixes this? Even if it's just a mod that removes blocking from the game, i'm okay with that. Since most of the time melee combat turns into a mindless blocking contest. Atleast in Skyrim you couldn't just stall by blocking forever, there was actual balancing, unlike the heaping pile of trash of a melee system that fallout 4 has. Edit: Turns out the blocking in fallout 4 and bash in skyrim are similiar in how they effect the victim, but bash drains stamina and requires an item in hand, in fallout 4 you can stagger enemies with your bare hands with no cost to AP, so it can easily be spammed to the point of ruining all fun there is to be had.
  2. The exe optimizer that the installer uses is outdated (version 1.8) and doesn't work but it wont let me skip this step even though i patched the game through manually downloading 1.9. So how do i get past this?

Its on the only combat music type that has a user that is not a quest event or related to one.

So i was working on a mod to change the soundtrack of fallout 4 using the creation kit, and it's coming out somewhat good except for the fact that the combat music is not playing, i'm not sure why, i didn't leave the music types empty, Pretty much all enemy encounters don't trigger any combat music, except bosses, if i fight a behemoth or other large bosses it will trigger the soundtrack but this is not true for normal enemies. My custom explore and discover tracks play just fine so i don't know what could be causing it, so does anyone know what's causing this? If my other custom tracks work then the combat ones should work too. Doesn't make any sense to me why this is happening. I don't have any mods that change the soundtrack except for this one. There was an option to turn off kill animations in New Vegas in the gameplay section of the options menu but not in Fallout 4, which sucks, and as far as i know there's no mod that does this, there's no solution to this problem, that is, unless you can figure out how to manually remove the animations in Creation Kit (which i don't know how to do)
  13. Could you post a screenshot on imgur and put a link in the description? Incase you don't already know: F12 to screenshot. If you give us a screenshot it would help us find out what the problem is.
  14. As someone who has never used NMM, i can recommend not using it and just installing mods manually. It's not as hard as it sounds, some mods even provide a "ReadMe" text document explaining how to install it. Manual installation almost never fails for me, and if it does, i ask the modder about it. And i usually get an answer rather quickly. So if i were you, i would just ditch the software completely, and install mods manually.

My custom discovery music and explore music plays just fine, but the combat music doesn't play at all except when i fight bosses, is there a reason why? i didn't leave any music types empty so i don't know what could be causing it.
  18. I always felt it was unfair that Npc's could shoot infinitely at you and never run out ammo while you have to make your shot's count so you don't run out. It doesn't make realistic or even lore sense. You'd think in a post-apocalyptic setting, ammo would be scarce and not something to just waste like npc's do. I want a mod that fixes that to where they actually use up the ammo in their inventory until they are forced to use melee or switch to a different weapon they have ammo for. So does a mod that does this exist? If so, where can i get it?

  20. Those aren't the ones i was looking for but thanks anyway EDIT: I found the mod i was looking for, turned out the name of it was "Mortal settlers" And not "Non-essential or Killable settlers" http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/3483/? For anyone that finds this page looking for that mod.
  21. I've been trying to find the mod that does this but i keep getting no results in the nexus search bar and when i look on youtube it just gives me crappy settler guide videos. I've tried typing stuff like "killable settlers" and "Non essential settlers" and never found anything. Help would be appreciated.

Update: For those who don't understand, whats supposed to happen after blowing up the institute when giving the evacuation call is that desdamona gives you quests to kill the ellenel gang and eventually a quest to destroy the brotherhood but she doesn't say anything because its broken, i cant do any more main quests from the railroad because of this bug but i can still do the crappy side missions from Carrington and P.A.M though.

After joining the institute i planned on destroying it at one point during my new playthrough, i was sided to the railroad and brotherhood before coming to the institute and was going to destroy the institute the railroads way but there was one problem, the mass fusion quest would render me enemies with the brotherhood, so instead i destroyed the institute with the brotherhoods help and gave an evacuation call, this seemed like a good plan until i went to railroad hq to talk to desdamona after the institute being destroyed only to find out the "Burning cover" quest never ended for some reason. So when i talked to desdamona she thinks the institute isn't destroyed and gives me the quest to side with the minutemen to re-infiltrate the institute even though its already destroyed and she will not give me any other side quests. So i tried do destroy the institute again but this time i didnt give an evacuation call and when i got to desdamona she acted as she was supposed too and attacked me normally. I don't know whats causing the "Burning cover" quest to not end and the Railroad being bugged after blowing up the institute but i could use some help with this.

  25. Yes, not that it would help, but this seemingly is a problem on my savegame specifically, to fix it i would need a console command that resets the heavy breathing. I came here hoping someone would know a command that would fix it, i tried looking myself but could not find anything that could turn off whatever line of code is causing this: http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout_4_console_commands Whatever line of code it is, it has to be associated with when you first leave the cyro pod, as thats when the heavy breathing starts.
