  1. Eveyone is talking about how mod theft is gonna ruin the modding scene, or all the mods will need to be updated for Special Edition, etc. So I wanted to steer the coversation in a bit of a different direction. I'm tech savvy to some extent, but aside from removing the mod and VRAM cap, and adding new tech through DX11 support, I don't what else 64bit and DX11 mean for Skyrim and, to be more specific, what it means for the potential of Skyrim mods. So I'm hoping the modding community can enlighten me as to what this upgrade makes possible that wasn't possible before.
  2. Anyone who owns Skyrim base + all the mods or the Legendary Edition on Steam will get the Special Edition free on launch day. Not sure if its optional though.
  3. Oh lordy I wish! A ground-up retooling of Oblivion could be a tremendous success. I don't see how a remastered Skyrim could match/exceed what modding has already done for it, but Oblivion is old enough and the engine has matured enough to really knock it out of the park. And don't get me started on a Morrowind remaster. Well, a 64bit executable plus DirectX11/12 features would go a long way to improving the game where PC mods can't. Plus removing the mod cap and the VRAM cap would also be a big help. We don't need more unless they made the game stable too. And perhaps that's what they're planning and why none of the leaks suggest a PC version of Skyrim: Definitive Edition. It'll just be an update for us rather than a whole new game that we have to buy. I also agree that Oblivion would be a far better choice for a remaster. I never found it to be that bad looking and I can go back and play it. It is my favorite after all. But I wouldn't mind an updated version of it with modern bells and whistles.
  4. Yeah. Something tells me modders, who are almost all on PC(A few console players might have decided to make mods aimed at consoles for Fallout 4.), won't want to make mods specifically for consoles and not PC, especially after Fallout 4 mods were being stolen.
  5. So, an online retailer leaked Skyrim - Definitive Edition for PS4 and Xbox One(No mention of a PC version, but that would likely be through Steam so it makes sense.).
  6. Except we know for a fact that a Skyrim Remastered already exists in Bethesda's stable. They used it to learn the new hardware. All they would need to do is bring it up to Fallout 4 standards, go a bit beyond that, give it a good spit shine, and it'd be good to go.
  7. Rumors just came out about E3, but lets put those aside for a second. I want to know all of your genuine thoughts on a Skyrim Remaster. Would you get it? If not, is there anything that could convince you to get it? How do you think the mod support would be for it considering most of the big modders have moved on to Fallout 4? Personally I hope the graphics upgrade is a big leap forward. Would mean I'd need less mods to make it look pretty and I wouldn't keep hitting the VRAM and mod caps. That's all they'd need to do for me to consider buying it. I just can't get into Fallout 4 like I did Skyrim and Oblivion before it.
  8. I think you misunderstood me. I'm trying to change the body itself, the nude body, not the armor/clothing that goes over top. Changing the armor is simple, but it doesn't change the nude body, not to mention clipping issues. On vanilla NPC's, the body will change automatically to whatever I install, and mod followers that use the vanilla body or aren't standalone will also change. But a lot of the followers I like are standalone, meaning the mod author picked out a body mod they liked and merged it with the follower. This prevents the follower from being automatically overwritten with my choice of body, leading to incompatibilities. As an example, I love making my game as realistic and immersive as possible, so having breast physics is a plus. The UUNP body has a set of XML's that make breast movement realistic rather than exaggerated and it works without me having to install fifty different mods and shuffle around the load order. But that's only for the UUNP body. If a standalone follower doesn't use UUNP(And 9 times out of 10 they don't.), then the physics don't work and trying to install other mods for that followers particular body leads to issues. So I want to change the body on a standalone follower so all of my UUNP related mods work properly on all my followers, and not just me and vanilla NPC's.
  9. I have a lot of followers that I really like, however, most if not all of them use a different body than I use for normal NPC's. I use the UUNP body, but every follower tends to use either CBBE or a variant of UNP that isn't UUNP. Which means that all my other mods that require UUNP don't take effect on my followers. So I was hoping that someone here could enlighten as to how I may do one of two things or point me to a tutorial on how to do it: 1) Delete the preset body the follower comes with, which give them the vanilla body which can then be overwritten by UUNP 2) Delete the preset body the follower comes with and replace it with UUNP.
  10. So, I'm probably not gonna get any responses whatsoever, but I figure I might as well try anyway. Does anyone know if there's a hair mod out there somewhere that has hair that looks like Tifa Lockhart's from Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children? I looked through ApachiiSkyHair, KSHair, and HHairstyles to no avail. That was over 1,000 different hairstyles, and there was nothing even resembling it. I need it for a model I'm asking someone to put together.
  11. This question has been nagging at me for a while and I figured this would be the best place to ask. Skyrim is going to be 5 years old on November 11th of this year, and we're likely 3 to 4 years out from a brand new Elder Scrolls game, and that's only IF Bethesda decides not to do something new(Which they said they wanted to do something new, but they have 3 titles in the works at the moment as well.). The mods for Skyrim have slowed to a trickle as of late as people move onto Fallout 4 which will get a modding tool set based on the latest version of the Creation Engine, the same engine that Skyrim was built on. So I was thinking, what if Skyrim could be ported over to the new version of the Creation Kit so that modders had new tools and tech to work with? It would also uncap the 255 mod limit as well as(hopefully) the 3.1GB VRAM limit. I can scarcely think of all the new mods that could be made using Fallout 4's engine. So would it be possible? I know the modding tools won't be out until at least next month, but someone has to have some inkling as to whether or not it can be done.
  12. I downloaded a follower, Ulrica, and every time I go to her in Dragonsreach, she always has this distortion on her and I learned that its the spell absorption effect or something and the Atronach perk is responsible. Problem is, I don't know how to get rid of it and it just keeps looping. I tried using the command removeperk on her, but it didn't work. Does anyone know how to fix this?
  13. Exactly what the title says. Originally I was using Ethereal Elven Overhaul to fix Elven faces so that they weren't so bony or thin, make the characters look better. But for some reason EEO stopped working a few months back. No matter where I put it in my load order I still get the vanilla elven faces. And since support for that mod has long since been discontinued and no one is picking it up, I need an alternative if one exists. Something to make the faces smoother and less rigid.
  14. I thought I read that mods needed to be made compatible with that for it to work, or did I read something wrong?
  15. So, I'm a very big graphics wh*%#. I want to mod my Skyrim to look the best it can, especially now that I have a GTX 980 with 4GB of VRAM. However, I keep hitting the mod ceiling, and it isn't just graphics mods that I'm using. I know about using the bashed patch to get around this limit, but I've always had trouble with that in the past. So what I want to ask is if anyone knows how I can condense the amount of mods I'm using while still achieving the same effect. Mod collections that put everything into one mod without 50 ESP's would be great if they exist. I have a few, but they don't cover a whole lot and usually have more than one ESP. Here's my mod list: 1. Unofficial Skyrim Patch 2. Unofficial Dawnguard Patch 3. Unofficial Hearthfire Patch 4. Unofficial Dragonborn Patch 5. Unofficial High Resolution Patch 6. And if it seems like I have mods that do mostly the same thing, it's either because another mod required it or it covered something the others didn't(Or that it did better.). This isn't necessarily the load order, just the priority order Mod Organizer has set in conjunction with LOOT.
  16. So I'll get the biggest issue out of the way first. 1. A lot of sound effects are not playing, and the music has stopped playing entirely except on the main menu. And yes, I checked the volume sliders, they're all maxed out. This is kind of an annoyance because I can't hear anything other than footsteps and weapon sounds. I'd chalk it up to my nearly maxed out mod list, but this problem started when I had less than 100 mods installed, all of which I've had installed previously and they never caused any problems. 2. One of my followers(modded) has a magic effect swirling around her. I'm not sure how it got there and why it won't go away. If you need to see my mod list, I'll post it.
  17. So after deleting the entire Documents folder for Skyrim, and making sure that Skyrim config was completely erased from my computer... the problem persists. However, now I'm able to get a good look at what it places in the Documents folder. Namely, it creates the "1" folder and puts an SKSE save file in there, but puts an ESS file in the main folder, not a sub folder. But no "Saves" folder was created.
  18. I don't know how to get that, but I highly doubt it'd mod related. The save issues started after I used Skyrim Configurator and checked one of the save options. But even trying to reverse that didn't do help. I also did a clean install of Mod Organizer(It needed an update anyway.) so there shouldn't have been any traces of Skyrim Config's meddling. The only place that anything it changed would be remaining is the Skyrim Documents folder. The problem is, I don't know what is supposed to be there and what was put there by Skyrim Configurator. EDIT: All the screwed up saves look like this: 42949 1Save 1 Prisoner.
  19. I deleted the saves countless times. Both through the game itself and from a folder oddly titled "1". And I did go back into the Skyrim folder in its original install location(It also moved hard drives when I reinstalled it.) and delete everything that was in it.
  20. So up until earlier today, my Skyrim saved games normally. However, after running Skyrim Configurator(Which I have since deleted.) which I only wanted to use in order to solve a mesh issue(Which someone later pointed out was actually a skeleton issue. I never fixed it, so I just made a different Mod Organizer build and that did the trick.), my games save system hasn't been working correctly. It won't find any of my actual saves and instead constantly generates weird save files that I can't even load. It'll just sit there instead of loading them. And I've already tried to reinstall the game to fix the problem, but that didn't work. My last resort option is to delete everything in the Skyrim My Documents folder. But before I resort to that(Because I have absolutely no idea what that'll do to the game), I wanted to try and get peoples opinions on the issue.
