I read up on motherboards and found out the the only differences between the Z87 and Z97 is that the Z97s can work with the newer Broadwell processors and SATAexpress. Would it be worth it to just buy a Z97 for future proofing and having a motherboard for a newer build if I did one?

Fans are another thing but I may have some good ones at the house. I will most likely crank them up really high since the noise doesnt really affect me a all. My RGH'd 60 has 2v fans cranked up to 12v constant and it is what you would call loud but it doesnt even register in my head for me.

Ok thanks! I didnt know the differences but thanks for pointing them out! And here in the U.S it seems to be the same. The 35 and 4670k are about the same. I think Ill get the case I linked and throw somw cranked up fans in them. I didnt that with my RGH'ed 360 and its loud but it didnt get hot(hot, like beyond warm) until after 8 hrs. Ill throw in the fans and then some cooling on the GPU os I can since its the most stressed in the setup I want.

No not really. I have looked and seen things but I dont know enough to know that a 4690k and Z97 are newer than a 3570k and Z77. Sorry Im a complete and utter noob but I dont know a whole lot.

GTX 970 is almost the same thing and a lot cheaper. There's very little reason to buy a 980 today, it's basically just a statement that you have extra cash. And what difference a 980 makes over a 970 is in other games, like Crysis and whatnot; Fallout 3 is CPU bound, so a 970 will be just as fast. Fractal Define S Window would be the case to get, or optionally the older Define R5. Alternately look at Xigmatek Elysium for a larger more SLI oriented option Ok thanks. Ok. Ill probably just save up for the GTX 980. Im looking at cases right now. Does anyone know kf a case that has ample room, a viewing window on at least one side, and can fit all of the parts in OP and cooling comfortably?

Thanks for the reply! Ill most likely get the ASUS GTX 980, ive heard great things about it and Gopher uses it with his huge amount of mods. I have a GTS 250 I can use as a dedicated PhysX. I know they dont make a whole lot of improvement, especially in RPG games, but its something. Now to get a case to fit all of it..........

Ok. I just wanted to be sure in case there were any parts different. I am new to the PC gaming world but Ive watched and seen it a few times. So, since VRAM is my friend now, 3gb or 4gb? I want to use more mods than, say Gopher for example. I want what he uses and more. He has some pretty big mods, but his system isnt strained at all it seems. Would my build(so far) hold up to the big mods and a lot of little ones(weapon, armor, npc mods)? I have a NVIDIA GTS 250 in my house PC that I got because it was 50 bucks on Craigslist, could I pair it(dont know the right term) with the R9 280X for better VRAM and better performance graphics-wise? Of course with the needed space in the case. Is the I5 3570k a good processor for gaming? I chose it really because it is a good price for me, Gopher uses it, and people say it is a good CPU to OC. Opinions on this?

My home pc can run it just fine. Only problem is actual hardware. F3 threw a fit but I fixed it.

Hey all, Ive recently gotten very interested in the modding and building community and I want to build a rig for Fallout 3 and New Vegas with a lot of mods(NMCs texture pack, Project Nevada, weapon,armor, and texture mods, etc.). I have a rough setup here and I wanted to post it to verify it and see if it will support the things I want. Hello.I just recently got into Khajiit mods and the like and i got one that made Lydia a Khajiit,but when i installed it with NMM,it didnt work.I just deactivated it, started the game,waited until the save loaded,saw that the mod wasnt working to be sure it deactivated,the quit the game and activated the mod again.It worked,Lydia was a Khajiit. i go to play it again and she isnt Khajiit,I simply did the procedure again,it worked,i play again,it doesnt work.I dont know if it is NMM or the mod.l have had this happen before,but after reactivating the mod it works always,not only during a session of the game on at a time. Hello.I just download a ton of mods and i was going to manually install them,which i did, and they were simple ones,like just out and data folder and activate in launcher,but for some reason i can find them in the data files section of the NV launcher,They just dont show up.I have tried launching the game,play a few minutes,then look again but nothing.I reinstalled the mod to see if i did something wrong but,no. I don't know whats wrong.Ant help is appreciated.

Hello.I was playing New Vegas one night just like normal,I was playing the quest where you have to save Heck Gundersons kid and the game crashed a few times right before i startedactually doing this quest.One time was just a normal crash,the i went into the Ultra Luxe and the uy takes you guns,and i wondered if i toggled the White Glove that takes your guns AI so that he wouldnt,so i turned his AI off,I went out of the Casino,got my guns,went back in,I keep my guns,and as soon as i passed the Greeter(he takes your guns),like as soon as my character started to pass by the Greeters back it froze,i thought since i disable the AI it would freeze,but i loaded a previous save and i walked right by with no problem.I then started to do the quest,i was using the NCR Squad Support mod so i had three veteran Rangers with me and i layed though the quest enough that i was past the Chauncy guy or whoever,i dealt with Philippe and he was in the room by himself(before he did this he sort of freaked out and said for me to cook for the banquet.) and i was going to figure out what to do next and the game froze,and i just thought it was a normal thing,because my computer is average except for the video card,and i just closed it,and startied to lauch the game again,but this time it started to show the full screen,except immediately after,it turned grey and it said new vegas wasnt working,which was wierd because i ahdnt installed any mods or anything before any of this and after looking through the load order,completely deactivating and reactivating ALL of my mods,reorganizing the mods correctly,it STILL DOESNT WORK!!!!!!!!!!! I dont know whats happening, i dont know if it is the quest, a mod i have,i have no idea,and this is probably some thing i cant help and i will most likely have to reinstall my game,I have already prepared for that by copying all my saves to a folder so i dont lose everyhting.but anyway,if any help is even possible,please and thank you.

Helo.I have been fallout New Vegas with The fake fullscreen mod,but now it is not running when i launch it.I installed it properly,i put it in the Fallout directory,NOT the Data file,and i go to lauch the game with it and it just doesnt do anything.I have it as a quick launch icon and when i click on it,it just shows the little white square around it even though the mouse isnt on it,like it is launching,but it doesnt even do anything. I dont know much about computers but thats all that happens. I cant say much else because thats it,really. i dont know what i dod or whats wrong,but anu help is appreciated.

yeah, i like DX,FOOk and Fellout and stuff that does similar things,it doesnt cause that much of a performance drop either.

Hello.I was using the Serice rifle Redux mod,which retextures the Service rifle,gives a heat sheild,makes it black,and has two weapon mods,a scope and suppressor.I was using this mod with Jackos modern armory replacer,which requires the mod Jacko Modern Armory.I used this mod for a while, i completed lonesome road,and after that,the Redux wasnt working and neither was the replacer.I have no other mods that alter the NCR,other than some mods that make the NCR Appear in more places,but that wouldnt affect what they wear.The only mods i have that alter NCR are Presence mods,and the only mod that does anything other than adding them to different areas in the wasetland is a mod that allows the NCR to spawn with the battle rifle,i dont think that would affect the service rifle and the replacer.the only mods that change them is the service rifle redux,the battle rifle mod and the Modern NCR replacer. I dont know if the Mod just doesnt work or it is NMM.I hear it sucks with mods all the time.I simply was being to lazy to use FOMM.I guess i should sat using it now if that is the issue.I can give my load order fi needed.Thanks.

Hello.I am using an NCR rplacermod that is based off of an armory mod called JackoOs modern armor,the replacer user the mods in the armory and puts them on NCR soldiers.I have had this mod for a while,but after installing some bigger mods(EVE PN to be exact) i have noticed the Modern Armory Replacer doesnt work.I thought i just had to deactivate and reactivate in NMM and it works but if i just do that and start the game,it freezes a second later,before freezing,i can look at some NCR troopers and they will be wearing the replacer(i was in Primm near the bridge with the one trooper in a metal shack),since it froze,i moved all of the plugins of the mod higher up,(just above ADAM) i moved all of the plugins in the same place and all next to each other. But,after doing this the game doesnt freeze but the troopers are wearong Vanilla armor. My first thought was that were i moved the plugins was conflicting with something else,but there were no mods from the bottom of the load order(were they were out when reactivating the mod) to were they are now,all of the plugins are with each other,no other mods in between the other plugins,and the Modern Armory(not the replacer) is directly above the replacer plugins.I guess now thats NMM,but my FOMM doesnt work and i have limited Internet Data so i cant just redownload it,but if i have to i will. Thanks for reading. i really want this to work because the NCR is my favorite and this mod works well with Caesars New Regime! thanks.

I dont know whats wrong with it.My New Vegas is messed up,so im just going to copy my saves somewhere and redownload the game.I moved my mods and saves over so i can go where i was and start again. Maybe this time i can just download MCM and it will already be at VER 1.5. Thanks for helping though.
