Modmapper: every Skyrim SE mod on an online interactive map
Gunslinger808 replied to dactyl's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim SE
That’s a save to favorites! Thanks for all your hard work. -
Yeah, I’d go ahead and disable the mod for that quest and see what happens. If your game does it again try TLC, it’s worth a shot. It’s a pretty safe option, and your followers will catch up to you if you have any. And just out of curiosity, do you have any mods that might be affecting the cell you’re trying to go to from Bronze Water?

That’s probably your easiest and safest bet, and do not delete that clean save for at least a few days once you clear the quest just to be on the safe side, and once doing the quest save often and delete the corrupted saves as soon as you clear the quest. Failing that, and if your old save does the same thing, rather than console command teleporting, try disabling collision and ghost your way out. Did your game crash after being in the cave exit where you talk to Karliah, or after she gave you the bow? And as you found out, console commands are tricky, sometimes they are a godsend, other times a curse that will rear its ugly head later on. Also, do hard saves often, do not depend on auto saves.

About File Sizes of Saved Game Plays
Gunslinger808 replied to DirebearCoat's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim SE
It really isn’t all that memory intensive to leave saved files for a week or two just to be sure you didn’t glitch your game. Heck, when I was new to gaming I didn’t realize they were saved to my files, and I thought deleting them in game was all I needed to do, imagine my surprise when I finally looked and saw hundreds of saves from years ago. My SSD drive is luckily large enough that it still has considerable space, even with TES, Cyberpunk, Fallout 3 and 4, Starfield, and all their mods and at least 7 other games on it I had to deactivate Cloud saves though, it kept reloading old deleted saves onto my drive every time I logged in. -
Only issue with the GOG version is right now it’s not compatible with Waberjack downloading and supporting the newer multi mod packs like Nolvus. i

If anyone is interested GOG has the Anniversary Edition on sale for less than $17. I have both the Steam and this one, both perform the same but at least with the GOG version you an avoid those pesky and game breaking updates, and no DRMs.

I don’t use AFT, NFF or any other as I use the Serana dialog add on. However from what I’ve read, wait till the Dawnguard quest is completed as it may glitch certain quest if you give her certain commands via AFT or other during that quest since it’s so involved. Most notable is missing certain conversation lines or cues that further a part of the quest. After Dawnguard if you haven’t modified her other than visually she should react like any other NPC regarding follower tweaks.

Looking for open \ barbarian style armor remesh
Gunslinger808 replied to Wakaitsu's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim SE
Go to Nexus and type in “HIMBO” in the search bar, there are quite a few armors that are like what you want that have been converted from female armors. Some a little more risqué than others. Heres a more ummm shall we say revealing without being wang out. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/61351 -
Had someone sort of antagonistic with me on another forum calling TES “Stone Age” game. Really strange since TES pretty much pioneered the VR and AI integration. What other games out there have followers that can not just respond in normal fashion, but will actually carry on an in depth conversation? Not too shabby for a 12 year old game.

Ha, let’s play along, he evidently has the Dragonborn shout, used it to kill the high king Torygg but doesn’t use it again till the final battle. How did he acquire the shout, did he know more than one, and evidently used the one he used which would require the absorption of a dragon soul. Did he deny the Grey Beards of High Hrothgar by ignoring their call?

Is GOG now a viable alternative to Steam?
Gunslinger808 replied to Gunslinger808's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim SE
Yeah it can. FWIW I have the Steam version on my C drive and the GOG on my F drive. And yeah, Heather has been my favorite follower on 4 since she came out. Darlene was good to, but she reminded me too much of my bipolar ex. -

Gunslinger808 replied to Gunslinger808's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim SE
Not really “nonsense”. It was from others here that told me my game was a pirate copy and they wouldn’t answer any of my questions a couple of years ago when I told them my copy was from GOG when trying to clear up some loading issues I had. It really was a misconception from some members, and they were rather hostile about it, all from the “we’re going to report you” types and even more obnoxious replies from others. Never had an issue with the mods as far as I know or I wouldn’t be here now. -

Race menu does work, you just have to ignore the DLL warning you get when loading from Vortex. It hasn’t caused any issues, when using it… Yet. Now Faster SMP is a buggy mess, but then it’s had problems with Steam version too as I have both. -
I thoroughly enjoy the game despite some of the issues you bring up, but one glaring issue I’ve had with not just TES but also the Fallout series is the fact you can become the head of various clans and factions but in reality have no supervisory discretion. Yeah, now I’m the head of the Thieves Guild, Dark Brotherhood, College of Winterhold, killed Alduin, saved everyone from Mirrak, but I’m still everyone’s gopher. Hey, let’s add some content where I get to tell others to go get their own darn gear/underwear, whatever. It’d be nice if after taking control you could sit back and oversee the action of those under your command similar to some military campaign games.
