  1. I have not followed up with more testing but we have observed some very odd behavior in at least one particular case when going back and forth between Loot and Vortex/Loot-api: https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/6441506-vortex-sorting-tool-and-loot/?p=58076246
  2. In response to post #57615791. What game? Can you give more details and post them in the forum to help the devs and help others who might run in to the same issues. https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/forum/4306-vortex-feedback/
  3. In response to post #57616816. It is actually very similar to NMM in this respect. If there are conflicts with loose files, it shows in the Dependencies column on the MODS page of Vortex as a red lightning bolt. Click on that lightning bolt and it will let you set a rule that determines which package overwrites which. After you settle all your conflicts, Purge button at the top clears your data directory and then the Deploy button will reinstall all those mods, obeying the rules you set up to determine which packages get overwritten. You have exactly as much control as NMM. It's just a different approach.
  4. In response to post #57445561. From the announcement above:
  5. In response to post #57413151. If you are talking about save games for Fallout then it was fixed in the latest release (see Vortex page, link just above these comments): Version 0.12.8 * fixed: savegame page didn't show anything for fallout games
  6. In response to post #57212146. #57407606, #57410961 are all replies on the same post. @Andron2522 There are a few YouTube vids out there. Here's one that hasn't been posted here yet:
  7. In response to post #57309146. Currently, it doesn't have a direct feature to address this. You can click a button to open a Windows Explorer window where you can rename the files, which is procedural similar to what happens in MO but requires more keystrokes to do the renaming. However, Tannin has said that this functionality is coming. I don't believe he mentioned a time frame.
  8. Found new YouTube, first impressions video posted: We need more of these ahead of release to help people know better what to expect, in broad brush strokes.
  9. In response to post #57292676. #57293231, #57294006 are all replies on the same post. I don’t have the beta, but I thought I read that you have to redeploy after creating new rules on installed mods?
  10. In response to post #57239861. #57280471 is also a reply to the same post. Proof? I'm trying to understand the argument, but have yet to see a concrete example of where Vortex's method fails or is more cumbersome when used as designed. I'm not arguing against everyone complaining. I just haven't seen a concrete example. You can't have a reasonable expectation of changing anything without concrete proofs.
  11. https://www.nexusmods.com/news/ The billboard at the top has comment counts that disagree with the counts below and on the actual pages. Off by 1, 2.
  12. In response to post #57227931. #57228261, #57231896, #57231991, #57232121, #57237146, #57239481, #57239706 are all replies on the same post. I don't think it's possible yet to judge how far it will go. When I initially read that you can't manually order mods, my heart dropped. I haven't got to use it yet and am not privy to future directions, but I have begun to rethink it. I think most would agree that the IDEAL would be to simply install mods we want and play without worrying about it. One button install a mod and don't think more about it. More like a package manager such as deb, apt or chocolatey. Vortex seems like a possible path forward toward that goal. Letting users manually change order would preclude that possibility. I think I read a post earlier that stated that they hoped to build a database of dependencies and relationships that would be the rules to make this a full blown package manager. I manually do this myself lately using XMind, create nodes for each mod with subnodes or relationship lines for Requires, Recommends, Addon, Configures, LoadBefore, LoadAfter, Patches, Compatible, Incompatible, PartiallyCompatible, etc. Those are the rules I use to build my mod configuration. Most of that could totally be automated. But for that to work, users, including me, will have to learn to step back a bit. It's not easy when you love micromanaging the configuration like I do; I didn't even use loot on most of the configs because I like understanding and ordering everything myself. I don't know if that is the direction this is headed, but just a thought... And I recognize that even a full package manager can't handle all of the processes necessary to building some configs, but it could do a lot.
  13. snap. Snap. SNAP! Been looking forward to this for months, planning my SSE playthrough, waiting on Vortex. Checked nearly everyday, thinking probably 2/1. Missed it. SNAP! Reading everything on here and the forums like a starving khajiit, licking the floor for just the chance at a crumb. From the few glances it looks great. Can't wait to try it out. Congrats on the progress. If you have any dropouts and need someone with real life programming experience, beta testing experience, who knows how to track down and isolate problems, who's used both NMM and MO and who's been planning a heavily modded playthrough for months... HERE I AM!
  14. Thank you. Following your advice, I think I have it all sorted now.
  15. If I purchase a lifetime account, will it cancel the monthly billing automatically? I can't see any indication one way or the other, can't find any type of membership account setting / status. Thanks.
