recently, i acquired this rather weird problem. some creatres in the world behave very strangely now. typically it is monsters; most NPCs are normal. townspeople follow their scripts, go to work and go home at the right times, speak normally, and perform scripted actions. however, when i enter a cairn or a ruin, most monsters within will be . . broken. rats do nothing. draugr do nothing until attacked. now i consider this a fairly large problem. it destroys immersion completely to have draugr stand still, or wander aimlessly, staring at you, but making no hostile action until attacked."deathlords" dont give me death. heres the weird part: BOSS cant fix it. Wrye Bash cant fix it with rebuilt patches, new patches, reordered patches. mod loading error doesnt appear to have any effect at all. running skyrim with ZERO mods has no effect. what is borked? does anyone know? and how does this get fixed?
-
yeah, thought so. as soon as i didnt see a mod for it the day after the CK came out, i reasoned it must be difficult. thanks bethesda for hard-coding skyrim to be a simpler, less comprehensive game =/
-
as simple as it sounds, but probably not easy. i would REALLY love being able to see the durations of my buffs right on the HUD, like in Oblivion. super-useful for a battlemage-type.

well, we all waiting months for skyrim to come out. we watched every tiny video, gnawed on each minute morsel of information they gave us. now, after 4 weeks of playing, i want my Morrowind back. skyrim is, to put it simply, the worst elder scrolls game ever released. it is a screwup on a remarkable scale. Having produced morrowind, bethesda's technique since then has been to REMOVE features, REMOVE content, leaving us with . . well, this load of crap. Fable 2.5. im posting here for one simple reason: posting on the official forums is impossible, due to frantic incompetence on bethesda's part. theyve lost a customer in me. the 1.2 patch cluster is just the straw that broke this camel's back. i know there are others that feel this way. im confident bethesda doesnt care; its just another one of the pack now. just another indifferent and stupid game company that churns out poorly-executed drivel. they might be the worst of them, because they USED to be so good.

bump. making that left hand weapon disappear was exceedingly lazy on bethesda's part. very disappointing. mod it!

the helm of yngol is pretty neat, but it has some UUUUUGLY clipping with hair T_T

What do you look forward too in Modding?
Elizinator replied to Huglarh's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
=/ i get the impression that most modders do it because they like doing it, not because someone is making them. if you want to take a week off, thats fine. youre offering your services for free, and were grateful. however, doing it out of spite is very silly. this forum ust shows how much modders are desired and respected in the community. we cant wait for them to really get to show off. -
correct, gstaff confirmed this on the bethblog thanks ghogiel. now im sad T_____T

What do you look forward too in Modding?
Elizinator replied to Huglarh's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
im most looking forward to new models for armour and weapons. in morrowind and oblivion i most enjoyed those mods which not only introduced new items, but but them into levelled lists, so i actually had to go adventuring for them. i cant wait until we start seeing more of these! -
irrespective of whether you all WANT this to exist or not, it already does. nexus has an infinite ring mod already. if you dont want it - as with everything on nexus - dont download it. soapboxing about how someone else plays their own game is remarkably judgmental.
-
someone did do a dark retexture of the ancient nord armour. he also removed the clasps and made some skirt modifications i think. sounds like exactly what youre looking for, r at least the best we have so far.

in-game, it is permanent. however, in the console, type "showracemenu". when that comes up *DO NOT* change race or sex, but any other cosmetic option can be changed as many times as you want, with zero negative effect, except that you must re-equip all your enchanted gear. it doesnt break achievements either, as popular myth claims. i use this to regularly get a "shave and a haircut" so to speak. who wants to see the same hair every day? xD
-
not really any chance of that happening. people are still actively modding morrowind.

FXAA Post Process Injector doesnt do anything.
Elizinator replied to Deleted3282815User's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
essentially everything about the mod is predicated on d3d9.dll. move that or replace it, and the other things wont be doing their jobs either. the whole mod wont work. its important to remember that essentially all of the shader replacers out right now have their own d3d9.dll, which might be over-riding yours, and this shutting down the mod basically. still waiting for a dx10 shader package . . . -
LE [REQ] Fix for the Item Placement/Decoration in house
Elizinator replied to DonChorizo's topic in Skyrim's Mod Ideas
the placement of objects is really REALLY bad in this game. no joke. i was frankly infuriated when i discovered that it was even worse than Oblivion, which sucked, which in turn was worse than Morrowind. deeply displeased. hopefully this isnt too ingrained in the engine's behavior to change, because some of us actually LIKE decorating our houses, or just arranging things, because this game is big enough for everyone's desires to be accommodated. -
oh definitely. that would be great. rest assured, well see tons of AWESOME new scars / hair / warpaint once the CS comes out. for now though, texture replaces is pretty much the best we can do.

LE Thoughts on Current Dual Wield Weapons
Elizinator replied to gmar84's topic in Skyrim's Mod Ideas
yeah, the fact that your off-hand weapon just POOF vanishes when you sheathe is frankly silly, and on bethesda's part, EXTREMELY lazy. in order to get dw, we gave up spellcasting with two-handed weapons, and they cant even make it look half-decent? im pretty displeased about this too. so someone fix it with mawds! btw, there is already a decent animation fix for DW, especially running and idle stance. shouldnt be too hard to find on nexus. -
as i see it, one of the best parts of elder scrolls games has always been seeing how pretty you can make your character. back f the head? pfft. i want the hair t be beautiful also, but thats a post-CK problem. good to know that people agree though. im sure someone will come up with something awesome one day. im just trying to facilitate ^___^
-
im presently playing a high-elf warrior type, and im getting a little bored with the silly and dull warpaints available to me. anybody feel like converting some f the other facepaints - orc females, for example - for altmer use? it would also be great if it were an additive mod instead of a texture replacer, but thats obviously not possible without the CK.
-
both OBMM and WB can run oblivion successfully. it doesn't often work well from there on in, but thats a separate issue =/
-
ugh. that was awesome. and by awesome, i mean something very near to the opposite. a discovered i wasnt using the QTP3/UOP3.2 compatibility patch. which caused my game to crash upon loading =/ after getting that to work again, i decided to get draconian, and disabled close to 80 mods. that seems to have done it, actually! i not longer get crashes in IC. except i no longer want to go to IC, seeing as how there is nothing neat to buy there >_>
-
only effect that had was making argonians into argonians again. crashes are the same. btw, i notice another piece of data that might be useful. when running around the market district, i notice a *huge* fps hit, and sometimes an "error ding". this happens in other areas also, occasionally accompanied by a spontaneous CTD
-
yeah, not sure what thats about . . . seeing as how that mod is most definitely enabled, and the mod itself doesn't list any masters at all . . . having disabled it, and rebuilt the patch, it was re-enabled, despite that it was not in the merged or leveled lists section. so i had to manually delete the .esp =/ i know i get this somewhere to fix an argonian problem i was having. their skin was always a freakishly small bitmap, so they looked terrible. this fixed it, but replaced all argonians with aquamer. the actual AQUAMER .esp appears to be nowhere, which explains the delinquent master thing, though i have no idea where it went, or where i put the original .zip backup. its not in the usual place =/

in fact, this was a 2-part problem, half of which has been fixed. the first was that Enhanced Economy cause crashes upon entering any exterior cell. with it disabled, i can run around outside with impunity. its the transition that causes the problem. Half of the doors in the game - almost universally merchant doors. i can enter and leave my own house and guildhalls without difficulty, as with Oblivion gates, caves, ayleid ruins, and custom shops set outside (Romuska shop, for example). However, attempting to enter shops, particularly in the imperial city, causes crashes. another problem, linked i believe, is that opening chests in the IC does the same. in fact, even pointing the cursor at them causes some error somewhere that makes it impossible to load, save, or even QUIT via the esc menu. nor does streamsave/quicksave/quickload work in these situations. only ctrl+alt+del does =/ anyone have a similar problem? id love to post my load order, but im not sure how to do that as a s"spoiler" so that you dont all die from wall of text crit =/ EDIT: screwwit, ill attach a .txt

i got it working by doing the following: first, re-updating wb to 286 and 290 got it to start again, but it still had all the old problems. so i wondered, considering setting python.exe and pythonw.exe caused them to not run, if that werent happening elsewhere. i found this deeply mysterious, as when i first installed oblivion, i HAD to run as administrator, or it just would work. so i found OBSE_launcher, and sure enough, it was set to run as administrator. so i set it not to. and it started, but oblivion did not. i found the same with it, and remedied that also. Then, i used the WB 275 archive version to overwrite 290, and everything worked perfectly, as far as WB/OBSE is concerned. reverting everything to the pre-pyffi state and setting oblivion and obse to *not* run as administrator fixed that problem. again, thanks shadowfen. your suggestion eventually lead me to the correct solution =/
