  1. I get little hiccups like this in my games all the time. Afraid to say that the solution I have isn't wearing white armor, I'm sorry. New game. Delete anything to do with the old ones. X_X. Might have something to do with why I don't play too often anymore... Bben's signature, "Sometimes I think we spend more time getting Oblivion to work than we do playing it..." is too damn accurate it's scary. XD.
  2. Most of the mods that you download won't have OMOD conversion data, which means you will have to manually make them into OMOD's (Easy enough) or else you can just extract them straight into your Data folder (Even easier... until you want to get rid of them!). Unique Landscapes Compilation OMOD is super easy; it's already made into an OMOD for you! All you need to do is double-click on the downloaded .omod file and it's in your OMOD list in OBMM... Activate it aaaaand we're done! As I mentioned manually creating OMOD's before, I'll give a brief run-through on the procedure. Step #1: COLLECTION Extract the contents of the archive into an easily accessible folder. Step #2: PREPARATION Open up OBMM, then click on the, "Create," button, which is down the bottom of the window, next to, "Activate." Step #3: SELECTING In the little pop-up window, click, "Add Files," and use the GUI (Graphical User Interface) to browse to where the files were extracted to. Highlight all of the relevant .esm and/or .esp files, along with the Texture/Meshes/Sound/Music/Rah, rah folders that may have been provided with the mod, depending on what type of mod it is. Step #4: CREATION (Final) Now click on, "Create omod," in the bottom-right of the pop-up window, let OBMM do it's thing aaaand... Ta-da! One created OMOD! Simply activate it and Bob's your uncle. Or a monkey's your nephew. Whatever you prefer. Hope I helped a little.
  3. Could be a conflict of mods; Always handy to post up a list of your mods first thing. If you have Jauffre and Martin recruited (Since they aren't CM partners, I'm going to hazard a guess at Talkie Toaster's Companion Share and Recruit?) it may be that their Vanilla AI is commanding them to do one thing, but the CSR's scripting is ordering them to do another? Companion mods never seem to work out too well for me, so I avoid them.. won't say I'm an expert in this sort of problem, but maybe if we put our heads together, we'll figure out what it is? Another thing to do is tweak around your load order (Using OBMM (Oblivion Mod Manager), BOSS (Better Oblivion Sorting Software), and similar utilities) with the key ingredient in mind that whatever is closer to the bottom of the list is what takes priority, as it is loaded AFTER, and therefore overwrites, anything before it.
  4. Do you happen to have a list of your mods? Is it similar to the Light (Spell effect) shader, or more like an aura of sorts? Any possible screenshots (Want anymore mundane questions? xD)?
  5. As the topic's name says, whenever I try to save my game, there's a period of around thirty seconds where the whole games pauses, just to save. I've tried a re-install, which tells me it's a mod I have, rather than a system clash or the like (Not that it's ever happened up until two or three days ago... Posting here since I'm out of ideas, and Fallout 3 is great, but it just lacks that feel of... of... Fantasy! xD). 6. Greetings. This one's easy to describe. Once my PC sits in the Lounger of Vault 112, the screen fades to white before the all-important moment of anticipation... But then it just returns to the normal view of the Vault, with a Terminal-esque screen spouting, "Please Wait," for as long as I have the patience to stare at it. But I missed it completely. -.-" If somebody could throw me a link to a fix that's been created or the like, I'd be eternally grateful (I've checked on the Nexus already, and with Google). Well... If it wasn't obvious, the list looks a heck of a lot neater than the other - not everything just tossed and left to wherever it landed! Now I'm really starting to step up to my Virgo Zodiac! It wasn't too difficult, but certain allowances had to be made (Such as Realistic Rag Doll Force and Realistic Arrow Flight being down the bottom rather than Deadly Reflex) to ensure that the effects of everything would be kept and not overridden. IN the middle is all the meaningless bul- I mean, "Under appreciated," mods that didn't quite seem to make any difference, so I left them be, just like the original list. In the end, all I did was bump up all of the Overhauls, really. But, here's the general jist of it, with bben's setting out; <Weather/Environment/Sound Mods> <DLC's (Pre-Completion)> <Major Overhaul Mods> <Mods that specifically conflict with overhauls and need to take precedence> <Minor Mods/New Items/Houses/DLC's (Post-Completion)> <Quests> <Compatibility Patches/UOMP/Merged Leveled Lists> -> None in particular that need any attention in this list, aside from Living Economy, which is closest to the bottom out of any levelled list altering mod.
  9. Not a thing wrong with your guidelines, mate! Very helpful! The only revision I could add to what you have there would be to switch around <Major Overhaul Mods> and <Minor Mods/New Items/Houses/DCL's (Post-Completion)>, since many of the minor mods would lose effect against the bigger overhauls such as OOO, MMM and the like. Seeing as it's getting to the point where real-life fatigue is beginning to hamper my mental prowess (Or lack thereof.. In your face, Real Needs mods!! I can experience the real thing!) I'll submit the order I come up with later, as an example to others going through the same woes. Already have the latest patch, OBSE version and OBMM. Never used BOSS, though. Seems somewhat superfluous with OBMM able to handle the task on the fly as I'm activating and deactivating mods. With mine, what I've tried to do is keep what's minor and effects tiny things or else not many towards the bottom (Such as my own Geass (Dear Lord, I'm an anime-munchkin!) power mod, that just adds four or five different spells in without touching anything else), whilst everything that is larger, and could be used as a resource more than anything higher up the list (Deadly Reflex been the exception on the major overhauls rule... It's just been overshadowed by the installation and frustration spree of recent times). Though, seeing as I can't make ten minutes without a CTD, it's obvious how well this method's working for me.. I suppose I should be grateful that I even have ten minutes, with some of the stories I've read while researching the topic of a better load order! Lol. In another post I read by you, you mentioned that Textures and Meshes left lying around loose in the Data folder resources could lead to CTD's.. is that true? I never knew. I suppose I'll have the thoroughly go through both of the folders with Lieutenant Columbo's glass eye that never misses a strand of thread. I'm one to just simply delete the .esp/m file(s) and leave it at that, rather than scour through finding all of the neglected files.
  10. Argh. I know where to point the finger to my near constant CTD woes - my load order, birthed of laziness and willing ignorance. Up until now, I've been able to grind my teeth and bare with my own stupidity, but I tell you what - the Dentist's bills are racking up. Since I haven't an iota of intelligence on the matter, I humbly (Though agitatedly with myself) request a quick example of how I should set out the mods I have at the moment. 11. Actually, that's exactly what I was thinking, TGBlank. V.A.T.S does not have the capability to facilitate movement. Or, at least, controllable movement. Dodging/acrobatics is all that's needed, really. The rest is already there and available, such as the bullet time mod you suggested. Google searches can bring up a few results for bullet time, too, but nothing on dodging/acrobatics.
  12. Oh God yes. This would be perfect. It would also provide a roleplayable reason as to why your character seemingly has the unique ability to freeze time and make his/her choices. And why so much data about the opponent is collected; limb damage. Hell yes! Full support! Woooo! MY SUPPORT LEVEL IS OOOVVVEEERRR NIIIINE THHHOOOUUUUSSAAAAANNND.
  13. I absolutely loved Deadly Reflexes in Oblivion; It was the best mod on my list. Whilst it has suffered a retrenchment in Fallout 3, due to the fact that decapitations are no longer such a big stretch, and with the fact that there are no horses to ride around and cast spells on, nor are there any shields to bash with and - Wait. Back up. Deadly Reflexes was a great and needed mod for Oblivion. But now it's just not needed... It would serve no purpose other than to be a place-holder on FOMM's list. Only dodging is required, which can be done away from Deadly Reflexes. Breaking necks and slitting throats.. it's already here. Perhaps, just a dodging mod would do. That's all that's needed now. Some way to maneuver about the field quickly without getting your head blown off by a Talon Merc. xD.
  14. Dude, I know. I was so cut up when Buttercup just.. Teased me! Sucks to be me, I suppose. XD.
  15. I don't really think that editing weapons or anything is needed. Whatever your preference of weapon is, go nuts with it. You may swing a little faster, hit a little harder, but that's it? Who cares for the reach or anything? Leave them be. BUT at the same time, we could use a scripted weapon set that may only be equipped when the character's status flag for Demon Trigger is set to "TRUE", since this is still meant to be free-form roleplayable with any character. (Flag is what I know it as from modding the Baldur's Gate games xD.) Therefore, binding the Demon Trigger to a weapon or anything of the sort may not suit everybody, (My characters all use Two-handed weapons or Katanas.. Blade only. Not everybody is as in love with blades as I am, and would much rather using a hatchet or huge warhammer... Limiting the weapons to be available only during DT is the way to go.) Keeping in mind that this isn't meant to become a direct replication of DMC, it's a TES4:Oblivion adaptation. Animations.. Black/blue smoke surrounding effect, blood-crest eyes and larger muscles. Perhaps, just to suit it completely into the DMC game, a new custom hair that takes over the old for the period that you're taken over with demonic rage? Something to toy around with, indeed, since I personally fell in love with Dante's hair at first sight =..D. Ihateregistering's idea would probably be the best for this; creating a new skeleton and linking it to scripts may be the only way to go about it. Slammybear's idea for the limitation is somewhat on the money. Forget the extra jobs for scripting a whole new recharging character status and all that junk... It slowly eats away at your Mana. With all of this in the fore, there has to be a choice of -Not- using it. I've never been a fan of custom races and such, so a script upon start-up of a previously saved game, or else a completely fresh one, brings up a menu inquiring as to whether or not this character you've created is going to be using the Demon Trigger. If yes, let's have it macro/hot-keyed onto the keyboard somewhere, (No extra spells, for the love of Sparda!) which would make life easier... ALRIGHT. Very nice input everybody, keep'em comin'! We can only improve from here on out, besides. As a formal request and such, any modders that are willing to take up the challenge, email me or something with [email protected].
  16. Alright then.. Seeing as this is my first post on the Nexus Forums, I think a little introduction is in order. (Just scroll down if you could give less than half a poopy why I'm on here xD.) I like Oblivion, as most other people here would, as well, I have tried my hand at modding by myself.. That didn't turn out so well. Or, at least, creating little weapons and dumping them into world maps isn't exactly my idea of grandeur. Next, I decided to expand on that by creating my own meshes!.. But then I couldn't find a completely free 3D art program to use that was worth the space on my hard-drive xD. Which brings me to the Nexus Forums, since in my delving about in the CS, I figured out that I could only -READ- the scripts, not expand upon them, nor create them anew. Giving up on ever being capable of producing my own mod without a little help, (None of my friends that could help are computer savvy outside of, "Oh, that's what the mouse does!") I've concocted the notion that perhaps placing what I've been trying to do onto the forums as a request is probably the best idea =D. So. For those lovely modders of you out there who have played Devil May Cry, you'll know what that brilliant Demon Trigger is. All I've been trying to do is bring something that is either a replication or a resemblance of it into Oblivion, seeing as many of the characters I play are, in my own mind, half demon, much like my story-lined roleplay character and the much-loved Dante. (Though my character has nothing in common with him. I'm just a n00b who can't think up his own race xD.) Strength buffs, Speed buffs, Acrobatic buffs, etc. You know the drill to do with stats and what not. =D. The Demon Trigger HUD display, which might be a little bit harder? (I hear wonderful things about what OBSE can do!) Well, that's about it. For those of you that took the patience to read the little biography, many thanks for your time, to those that have skipped ahead to the nitty gritty of the post, thanks for reading and mulling over the idea a little. Whilst I'd like to volunteer myself to helping with bringing this idea into a reality, I'd simply like to note, as above, that I suck xD. I can do as much as I can to help, though. Thanks to all, ~Kusumura Mirokoshai.
