  1. Still second crossing the line twice doesn't count as 2nd and 3rd :D :D :D
  2. I have crossed the line first with a myriad of others in hot pursuit :D :D :D How's that
  3. @ Werne: how did the proposal go???
  4. The thing is not to segregate children or adults with special needs unless they are totally incapable of integrating into main stream education. The majority of children and adults I deal with are quite capable of integration and thoroughly enjoy being with their peer groups in a "normal" classroom. They have their own assistants to assist if things get difficult and to assist if they have difficulty writing, reading or the like, but on the whole they get more out of main stream then being shut away in "Special" schools. In the real world we must accept people for who and what they are. We are all different and there is no such thing as "normal" in today's day and age. We need to learn to help those that are more unfortunate than ourselves and give time and patience to those that need it. Everyone deserves a chance to be with the "normal" people, regardless of what we decide or label as such. As a person with children with learning difficulties and having two difficulties of my own, I am more than aware of what people go through. Patience is necessary, understanding a must and labelling should be outlawed across the board. We all deserve the same, regardless of creed, colour, belief or standing. Its time we lived up to this instead of paying it lip service. What we must remember is that discrimination is taught not inherited. We have a duty to those coming after us to eliminate discrimination in schools, work and social areas. Maybe I'm idealistic, but I try to teach patience and understanding to my own children and grandchildren, why can't others do the same?
  5. Still used carrier pigeons when I was a kid and telegrams were two a penny :D :D :D
  6. Tell me about it. I love shooting them between the eyes with a "That showed you, you little git...." (change git for any expletive of your choice :D) You enjoying it tho Thor???
  7. One takes the portable mod cons with you. That's what RV's are for surely :D :D :D
  8. I'd like it to stay that way  You went through more in that story then I did in my entire life. Fun still awaits me! Most definitely honey. Life is a rollercoaster, many dips, ups, downs, twists and turns, some heart stopping moments and other, more wonderful life changing ones. Live it to the full, ride it to the end and never regret getting on.....
  9. I had just started my second year at Uni when I found I was pregnant with my youngest.... I ended up having to finish just after Christmas after collapsing for the 100th time in the corridor. I had pre-eclampsia for the 2nd time and yes ok I very nearly died, again.... however, I returned to uni that September and signed in etc, got my passes for the car and me and everything else, tried to sign into the computer system, and couldn't.... Went to student services only to be told I was dead. I told them I wasn't and they said it was on the system, I was dead. I laughingly showed id, my passes (that they had issued me as it happens) and told them that there I was in front of them very much alive. The system wouldn't have it and eventually I had to get our departmental technician (a total whizz with computers) to sort it as for over 2 months the uni systems kept telling anyone who'd listen I was dead. Talk about a dog with a bone and this was a hunk of metal :D :D :D Just so you all know, I'm not dead, I'm most definitely alive :) :)
  10. Same here. Music mostly. (Example: )But I did cry in the last serious Spyro game (Dawn Of The Dragon, I think), where he died. I felt like I lost a friend D: (Technically I did, since I played all of them, since I was 4 actually. Yes, I played video games when I was 4, I'm that epic. Didn't stop since then. Just moved from consoles to PC :D) I cry like an idiot at the end of Monster Inc gets me every time and Bambi well I need shares in Kleenex
  11. @Werne, good luck, will be thinking of you :)
  12. I must do all of these now. All at once. :psyduck: I'll have to lock you in your room and bar all windows if you even think about it young man :armscrossed: Can you give a link for this game you're talking about... to the moon or something :D
  13. lol, no worries, I love Fable 3, that and Risen 2 are the only games (so far) that I play in which I actually use guns. I hate shooter games usually but because there is a mix in these games using different skills for different situations, I'm having a great deal of fun playing with a medium I usually wont entertain. They are also correct for the time line eg muskets and the like. This also means that I don't feel like I'm cheating using them :)
  14. I love Deep Blue Sea, a brilliant film and my boys and I watch it every chance we get, much to my husband's chagrin that is (even more reason to watch it  ). A great film, lots of laughs, lots of scares and the "good" guys win in the end. Poor Sharky gets made into seagull food and fish bait :(
  15. *throws poo on people* Consider yourself confined to the naughty step for the next 30 minutes thank you :D
  16. I will have to ground you guys if you don't behave :D :D :D
  17. Ah but the fun aspects are that you earn guild seals for various acts that you commit yourself to with a husband/wife and children. I had a brilliant time running round looking for a bow for my little girl and a porcelain doll for my son (yep that's right my son wanted a doll and my daughter a bow, I howled in delight). It was a great deal of fun and having to do it meant that I accumulated a fair few guild seals doing this. I also managed to gain a number of trophies, just because I was looking for precise gifts for my adoptive children too. I guess I love doing the mundane stuff as well as the proper quests. Makes it just as real for me :D
  18. Hey honey, I'm here to support you if you want it. I learnt a great thing for panic attacks and the like its called four square. You breathe in counting to 4, hold your breath counting to 4, expel breath counting to 4 and hold for the count to 4 at the end. Repeat the cycle for as long as you need to. Coz you are counting and thinking about what you're doing, you forget to panic, forget what it is that set you off :D Great fun and it works too. The other thing is to put yourself in a "happy place". Think of something that you loved, a place that you were truly happy. That is your happy place. Every time you start feeling sad or low, think of that place. Envision it, feel it and imagine the sounds, smells and tastes. This releases endorphins which make you feel happy. That works too. If all else fails, eat chocolate. That is happy food, is filled with serotonin which releases the necessary endorphins you need to feel happy. A quick fix, but works in a pinch. :D :D :D Anyway, thinking of you, sending you hugs xx
