  1. Your mod idea sounds like an older mod called More Stables. The author hasn't updated it in years, but it still works. Just in case you don't have them already, here is a list of more mods I used that have horse textures in them. A lot of them use the same resources that are okay to use, but some may use custom ones, so just check to be sure: Black and White Horses Zira Retextured Horses Bellyaches Animal and Creature Pack Frost Horse White Retexture Good luck with your mod!
  2. It's been way too long since I did it, so I don't rmember exactly how I did it, but I made a white horse using resources that were available here on the nexus. You are free to duplicate mine & use it in your mod Since the skins were already available as a resource anyway. I made mine as a new horse too, not a replacer. You're right, there wasn't a need for a new race, but the encounters for saddled & unsaddled, plus all the textures etc. were part of it. I knew little about modding when I did it. It was a trial & error thing :)
  3. Okay, I made a lot of progress getting them to fly correctly, but what seems to be missing is their turning. They don't seem to turn into their right/left turns. It's more like they make very subtle moves that slide them left or right as if they are flying into a strong headwind. All the wing flapping animations are correct, & they are even faster as you would expect from a much smaller dragon or bird. At this point it does not look like the skeleton is the issue. It has more to do with editing things like speed, flying radius, & the numbers in the default movement settings.
  4. I haven't yet tried to do the planters, but I am going to give it a try. Elysium Estate has some small ones that look like flower pots in the basement along a wall. I do not remember the game lagging out with them, but maybe that happens more when they are being used? I've never bothered trying to grow anything in game before, lol. The multiple adoptions mod page has a really good tutorial on how to set up your house for adoption though. As long as you go through it step by step you should be fine.
  5. Okay, some exciting progress - actually adjusting the speed up made a great difference. I tested it on dragons scaled to 1/4 size & bumped their speed from 100 to 3200. They flew much more like they should for their new size & seemed very bird-like, but this only effected their overall movement or position in the sky. By that I mean that they were physically moving around at much better speeds, etc. but their orientation & animations were still too slow, so even though they were moving around in a circle, their bodies were still pointing in only one direction, as if their turning speed was still way too slow. These settings are in the race window, so I'm going to duplicate the race & play around some more with these numbers.
  6. Well, my main goal was to just have them flying in orbits & occasionally landing on different perches in an exterior location, just for aesthetics & immersion. Making them followers was a secondary goal. I found a mod that has three serpentine dragons that will hover above you & do low small orbits around you when outside, & some of their AI may be usable. But, you are right, the dragons will always clip through things that are in the way of their flight path, which wouldn't work for interiors, & can still happen in some exteriors as well. Thanks for the tip on adjusting speed. I tried some of the other values without much difference, so I'll give this a try. It was always interesting that they wouldn't follow an orbit AI package, but if attacked would do the proper animations & would fly correctly.
  7. Do you mean the multiple adoptions mod, which allows you to adopt up to six? Or do you mean specific house mods which are compatible with the multiple adoptions mod?
  8. And, based on the whole skeleton thing, does that also mean I will not be able to add beast tails & heads to the existing child bodies? Could this be the reason almost every child mod that does beast races uses adult female bodies instead?
  9. That would explain a lot. All the mods I tested with dragons about half size seemed to fly just fine, & all the ones with smaller dragons were only in stationary positions or walked around without ever flying, & even when they walked around, it just never looked quite right. Looks like I'll have to have the smaller ones remain stationary then, & have mid sized ones be followers if I still want to go that route. So, if I want to have the smaller ones just seem more lively, would it be possible to use the critter/eagles animations & swap the meshes with dragon ones? Pardon me sounding so newbish, but this is new territory for me.
  10. I've tried multiple things to get my dragonlings to work properly, & I've narrowed the problem to scaling them down in size. I have taken multiple other dragon mods that use various AI packages & can always reproduce this problem in any mod that has flying/hovering dragons - once the size is scaled down to 1/4 or smaller, the dragons float in slow motion instead of flying properly & will only on occasion perform any animations. They will not follow any AI packages such as orbiting or landing on a perch, etc. It doesn't matter if the size is reduced in the race or the actor, the result is always the same. Did Bethesda break them so bad that I should just forget about this, or is there something else I should be doing to make them orbit an area around a nest & occasionally land on a perch, & then if they're followers, to hover & orbit around you while you move around outside? I know the last follower method will work with full sized dragons, as it is used in one of the mods I tested. I've been stuck on this problem for weeks, so any help or knowledge about this issue is very much appreciated :)

  12. Haha, I thought I was one of the only ones that did this. I always resurrect Rogvir & set him up in a house mod somewhere to live out his new life. And, after I kill Astrid in the hidden cabin, I always resurrect her & make her a follower. I also tend to travel around with TCAI on to make sure NPCs I like don't die from an attacker I didn't see in time, etc. I like cheat codes. Yeah, I play like a god, but at least it's as a benevolent one :)
  13. This looks really interesting. I've been putting off making food appear on tables during mealtimes, & now I'm definitely going to have to bookmark this page for future reference :)
  14. Are all those in a single child overhaul mod? I'm not using any currently while I'm working on my own boarding school mod, other than to test & make sure they work okay with it. I've tested it with TK children, Rustic Children, RS children, & Skykids. Skykids was the only one so far that didn't really work, but I only just D/L'd & tested that one & probably messed it up somehow. What I'm trying to do is make a complete set of child races that all use the default child bodies with the built in underwear, & only mix & match existing vanilla body textures, heads, & tails for the beast races, & then add in modded hairstyles for more variety. I don't like the mods that use the adult female body as a base. It screws up too many of the animations that kids do when using furniture markers, etc., even with mods out there that help to minimize this kind of thing. I have a boarding school mod where there are a ton of kids sandboxing doing lots of things, & I can't stand to see them scaling up/down in size or sitting with legs stuck through chairs etc. as you get with many of the child overhaul mods. Hallgarth was on the right track with his mod, & I do plan on using a lot of what he did. I just need to find a way to include beast races using the same bodies as he did with the rest of them. I recently found some video tutorials that mix & match race parts to make custom races, so they might help me.
  15. I couldn't find where the My Little mods were okay to use as resources, so thanks for that info. Yes, the beast race ones use adult female heads, but they also use adult female bodies, which makes them match up pretty nicely. It will be interesting to see how it works with the default child bodies also.
  16. Short of creating another child overhaul mod, how hard would it be to simply add in 4 elf child races & 2 beast child races, to the existing 4 human child races, so we have a default child version of every race in the game? I'm thinking of a different approach that I have not seen done so far - use the existing child meshes & skeletons & only redo the textures as needed, add in the tails to the body & skeleton where needed, & pop on new default head types for each race. Hallgarth had a lot of success creating elf children using the existing children's bodies, but I haven't seen any beast race children that have done it this way. How hard would it be to attach a scaled down tail to the existing child meshes/skeletons? Also, has anyone ever attempted to attach adult female heads to the default child bodies before? Were there any seams or gaps? This would be a new area of modding for me, which would take me a long time just to figure out, so I'm wondering if there are any resources available or people who have attempted this already before considering it.
  17. It's shaping up nicely! I haven't seen that stove resource before. It looks pretty sweet.
  18. That's pretty cool. The only reason I tried LOTRO was because of the music system. I made a 3 person band & used to let them play together outside the Prancing Pony. In my boarding school mod I thought it would be cool to have a children's choir singing all the Skyrim songs at a school concert :)
  19. I've seen this asked for a few times now. Not sure if anyone is working on it though. I'm just trying to get small dragons to fly correctly, & it's not working so far :(
  20. Okay, I forgot I had soft faces installed. After I uninstalled it, I was able to edit any facial part I wanted, including the eye sockets :)
  21. Yeah, that's what's weird. Other than using the hairstyles, I haven't used any textures other than vanilla. They're just NPC's in a house mod, not custom followers. Now, if I try to edit the lip color, the lips don't change color, but the foreheads do. Very strange.
  22. I was in the process of adding standalone hairstyles to my mod, & had the red forehead bug affect all the female NPCs I edited. I know how to fix it, & this time around I had to alter cheeks, cheeks2, & lips to get it to go away on every female NPC I edited. The problem I have now is they all look very plain without any makeup, & I cannot go back to edit any of them without bringing the red forehead back. Any ideas on what I should be doing to get makeup on them without bringing the red forehead back?
  23. You can always disable it instead of deleting it. That way if any other mods reference it, you won't break those mods.
  24. Hit Escape & there should be a tab for Mod Configurations or something like that. It might actually take several minutes to show up though. I've noticed that if you open a save where it wasn't installed, some mods take several minutes before they will show up in that menu.
  25. I need to do this too. I bookmarked this tutorial to give it a try. He uses different hair, but I'm hoping the process is the same.
