Hello. I am having an issue with the Nexus sites on all my browsers (Firefox and IE, both fully updated) where only part (Or none at all) of the Download History page will load. The rest will be white screen if it shows at all, if not it will be stuck on the "connecting" part. Sometimes the page will load a little more or a little less. The furthest it has loaded to is the page number links. IE, 1, 2, 3, - 41. Forty-one being the total amount of pages, which I last was able to check. That was a couple of months ago. I am a collector of mods, to some degree and have download thousands that I will likely never use, has this number of downloads affected my ability to view my download history? Have I downloaded too many things? I have tried clearing my history, cache, cookies etc. and nothing has worked. I generally use IE for public viewing and use Firefox for private viewing and as such, my Firefox is kept pristine, it has no history and none of the other junk either. For IE, I refuse to delete my history fully. However, seeing as this is an issue regardless of the browser and content, I am hoping this is on your end and you are able to fix it. On Firefox I am sometimes given the error message and page "The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading" when the download history page fails to load. I am not getting these errors with any other part of the site. I am running Windows 7 64bit Professional, everything is fully updated to my knowledge. I have AVG anti-virus protection. This was also an issue before I got AVG. So, I doubt it was that. Am I missing something? May I have some help with this please?

Cool, thankyou. That's good to know. What kind of souls do they usually have in the lore? Black? Grand? -
Elder Scrolls Lore questions - Dremora and Hircine
PlanetSlayer posted a topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Could a Dremora be afflicted by one of the several werebeast diseases, (And/or vampirism) such as werewolf, werebear, werevulture, etc? By their nature the werebeast diseases are in the power of the Daedric prince(s), at least one being Hircine. Dremora are technically immortal and belong to a Daedric prince in their own realm. Even though they're immortal, they can still die, in the mortal world, after which they are caught in some sort of nether between the oblivion worlds and Nirn, where they take 1000's of years if not more to reform back into their Oblivion realms. That being said, I do not know for sure, that they're not affected by mortal diseases, they can sort of die in the mortal world after all. So, they are affected by Nirn's laws. My opinion on this is that; for the diseases to work on them, a Daedric prince, like Hircine would have to alter the disease, to affect the dremora. The diseases by their nature, are magical, Dremora have a natural resistance to magic. Correct me, if I'm wrong about this, but aren't Daedric princes, always vying for power with each other, so if Hircine wanted to, he could make a Dremora with the gift of the beast and make it fight with another prince's forces, and possibly afflict another prince's Dremora with the gift of the beast. Here's where it gets tricky, technically any creature's/person's with the gift of the beast soul would belong to Hircine. Now, here's two more questions; Do Dremora, even have souls? Would another prince's Dremora, who was afflicted by the gift of the beast, then belong to Hircine? -
Hi, I'm PlanetSlayer I'm having an issue with Skyrim where; when I speak to a guard and he/she provides the generic 'I might join the Dawnguard' line, which would normally end with me getting the quest labelled Dawnguard, instead the quest is re-labelled "Garen Marethi" which, is a character from Dawnguard. When I go into the quest journal, instead of the quest goal "Join the Dawnguard", the words "Feran Sadri" are there. Above that, where the quest description would be, is where the words "Failed to look up" appear. A screenshot is provided below. My game is completely mod free, besides the Unofficial Patches for Skyrim and all its gameplay DLC, which I've also got activated, because I've been working on a clean savegame resource lately. This bug has been an issue for at least 3 weeks, both with and without a modded Skyrim. My Skyrim is version 1.9.32. It doesn't matter whether my DLC masters and Update master are cleaned with TES5Edit or not. I'm playing with a legit, store bought, english version of Skyrim. PC specs Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Service Pack 1 BIOS: Award Modular BIOS v6.00PG Processor: AMD Phenom II X6 1055T Processor (6 CPUs), ~2.8GHz Memory: 16GB RAM DirectX Version: DirectX 11 Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 (2GB VRam) Sound: Nvidia High Definition Audio I've researched this a bit and the only good advice I could find was this: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/635807-lookup-failed-bug/ However, the solution suggested in the link hasn't worked for me, I've tried validating steam files, like it says to, atleast 10 times , since I originally got this issue, however, it was mostly for other reasons then. I have done it with the intention of fixing this. I've done a semi re-install of Skyrim atleast twice. Which means, I copied and replaced the Skyrim folders from a pristine, clean Skyrim zip archive. Here is a picture of the bug: http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/866094026162417481/B4984EAC8D336466024ACA82CE4D3FB1FAFAEF49 It's a bit too big to put in the text field. Please, note; I haven't started any DLC quest besides this and Hearthfire before, so avoiding spoilers would be appreciated.

Viewing file versions no longer works for me. I use IE9. It was working before yesterday. When I click Mod X's file version to see the update history it periodically loads and the loading symbol pops up, however, then the symbol disappears and the screen remains with the faint white tint. Of which it usually gets when the change log is present and in this case it is not actually present. I have to go back or refresh the page to get out of it. Also, could you please add flashing to the text bar (or cursor) when typing (Example: after moving my cursor by clicking with my mouse elsewhere in the typing fied). It's frustrating for me having to write anything out because I can't see where my cursor is unless I move it. I often end up having to use the directional arrows to find where my cursor is aswell, which doesn't help with the problems I already have with typing, (My hands are too big for conventional keyboards) which leads to many grammatical and spelling mistakes, that waste my time.

Are you having constant exterior CTDs? I've FINALLY found your sol
PlanetSlayer replied to yafi's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
@Meeporized it might have something to do with the mesh used for the tree, I've had lots of crashes caused by meshes. Try renaming the trees folder in your meshes folder (Data\Meshes\Landscape\trees(or just the landscape folder as a whole))and see if that works. Also, if you used a compressor tool on your meshes that can cause crashes. -
Hi, I solved my issue with not being able to absorb dragon souls and being stuck on the first dragon quest earlier today by removing a file called MQKillDragonScript.pex from my Skyrim>Data>Scripts folder. If it's not there to start with try reinstalling all the unofficial patches that you have.

Much like in SkyRe where using bows and swords and any other weapons (besides crossbows) costs stamina. I don't want to use SkyRe and as far as I can tell there's only a few other mods that change stamina like this, however, they have only added jumping stamina cost, which I would also like in this mod. So, basically what I'm requesting is: 1. Jumping, swinging weapons(normally), holding a shield, punching, shooting arrows from bows etc to cost stamina 1a. Less stamina cost than in SkyRe because it takes more shots to take down vanilla enemies 1b. Different stamina costs for different weapon types 2. MCM configurable (if possible) That's all I suppose. I hope it's not too much to ask for. Anyway, if you're reading this, thankyou for taking the time to do so and I hope that you take up my request.

Site design update, file backgrounds and hot file cropping
PlanetSlayer replied to Dark0ne's topic in Site Updates
In response to post #7518990. I totally agree. -
I find it difficult to hit opponents with strafing and backwards power attacks because my character moves to the side or backwards, it would be easier for me if the power attack buttons were remapped to use for example the "ALT" button aswell. Like: S + ALT + (Hold) Mouse Button 1 for a backwards power attack. I have the CK and could learn how to do it myself if someone could please give me instruction if they won't do it for whatever reason. It seems like something relatively easy to make, right?

Thankyou guys! My friend and I have decided to make a dungeon, because he found that the vanilla dungeons got too repettitive. I concur with that however, it didn't bother me. Now we have something we can work on though and from my understanding house mods and dungeons are some of the easiest to make, or the best type of mods to start off with, am I right? We definitly want to create something that is different from vanilla dungeons, which would challenge the player mentally, have different pathways, ways to finish and maybe different challenges for different character builds. We've already discussed some ideas, that would help us do this.
-
My friend is a programmer, as the title says. He has the time and patience to make a mod and all the creativity within him to do amazing things with the CK. I'm wondering what inspired the modders of this wonderful community to get into modding. If there are any modders here who got into modding because of friends or family I would love to hear how they convinced/inspired you to become the modder you are today. This is so that I can help my friend discover modding. I don't think he has anything against mods and he likes Skyrim. So that's a start. One problem he might have would be dealing with the constant questions, people who do not read the readmes/mod pages, and troubleshooting (They go hand in hand , I know), because he generally does not enjoy talking to other people online. Is that reason enough not to bother to convince him into this? What do you think as a modder, is there hope for my friend to unlock his modding potential? How should I go about inspiring him?

Flashing blue screen caused by new Nvidia Graphics card
PlanetSlayer replied to PlanetSlayer's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Thankyou, I've figured it out, it was one of the ENBs I was using. Should've been one of the first things I checked. I've never had this issue with it before. I'm going to talk to the author of this ENB so he/she knows this is happening. For now.... Consider this fixed. Thankyou. -

Agreed. You can use Wrybash to rename your save to one that you'll remember that you changed the Ugrids in. -
skyrimPrefs.ini -- ugrids configuration question
PlanetSlayer replied to jasmerd's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Changing Ugrids to anything above the default of 5 will break your game, unless your PC is absolutely top-of-the-notch, like being worth more than $5000 but even then it's still risky. Setting it below 5 is reasonable to my understanding. With regards to savgames though, I'm unsure of whether they'll be affected. Personally I think they are unneffected and it's mostly the game engine being affected, which could possibly cause problems. Although, to be fair you're best to wait for a second or even third opinion on this. Because I may not be the best in describing what Ugrids does or does not do. *Edit* Have you seen this thread: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/657668-changing-ugridstoload-broke-the-game/ It may not be totally relevant however, there are some small snippets that may interesting for you. -
*550 Ti I've recently upgraded my graphics card to an Nvidia Geforce 650 Ti and patched it with both the Nvidia Graphics Adapter WDDM1.1, Nvidia Graphics Adapter WDDM1.2 and the 310.70 update from the Nvidia update site. My screen flashes aqua blue/green in certain places , then after a few minutes stays that colour. Or when standing still in certain places it stays aqua blue/green. I've only tested this after fast travelling to Riften from Whiterun. In the savegame where Whiterun is already loaded, there may be a brief flash of the colour as the game loads then, for the rest of the time I'm in Whiterun it's fine. I have saved in Riften and the problem is still persistent. I'm not particularly good nor experienced with hardware, so please be as blunt as possible if you can while explaining things to me. My V-Sync is turned on by default because I'm using vanilla Skyrimprefs.ini and Skyrim.ini. I have tried turning V-sync off and on in both my Nvidia settings and in the .ini files with no change in result. My PC Specs are: Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, Service Pack 1 System Manufacturer: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. BIOS: Award Modular BIOS v6.00PG Processor: AMD Phenomâ„¢ II X6 1055T Processor (6 CPUs), ~2.8GHz Memory: 16384MB RAM DirectX Version: DirectX 11 Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 Ti Current Mode: 1920 x 1080 (32 bit) (60Hz) I've played around with different graphics settings, getting no change in result. I'm not sure these parts are relevent however, I'll post these anyway: I've cleaned my Update.esm, Hearthfire.esm, Dawnguard.esm files with TES5Edit, using Gopher's youtube guide. I've checked whether this might be caused by mods and I've disabled all but just the following mods activated and I still get the same result. Update.esm Dawnguard.esm HearthFires.esm HighResTexturePack01.esp HighResTexturePack02.esp unofficial skyrim patch.esp HighResTexturePackFix.esp Unofficial Dawnguard Patch.esp Unofficial Hearthfire Patch.esp If there's anything else I can provide in-terms of information regarding this issue, please let me know. Any help with this would be appreciated greatly! Suggestions are very much welcome! Thankyou, PlanetSlayer

If there are mesh replacements in my Skyrim/Data/Meshes folder then when entering cities such as Whiterun, the game will freeze/crash upon loading the area if I have a meshes in my Skyrim/Data/Meshes/Architecture/Whiterun folder. When I disable these folders I'm able to enter these areas without issue. This goes for any folder that's causing crashes, if I disable them, then I'm fine. This issue started early November, 2012. Around that time I'd done a clean re-install following Bben's clean Oblivion re-install guide, which I tweaked a little for Skyrim. The following folders in my Skyrim/Meshes folder cause crashes/freezing in certain areas: architecture Clutter clothes effects dungeons furniture landscape I'm using all the paralax mesh mods http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/17754 I'm currently using ENB.119 By Boris, with the Enhanced Sunsprite mod, http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/26945 In addition I'm using PrOPa's ENB 117 and 119 for Darker Nights v1.0c/1.0a (doesn't matter which) http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/23202 I'm using Vurt's Flora Overhaul, when entering a forested area, the game will insta-crash, for example just after leaving Helgen on the road to Riverwood. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/141 I'm using SMIM aswell http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/8655 I'm also using numerous other mesh and texture replacement mods, too many to list! Not many of them conflict and if they do, I'm usually using a compatibility patch for them. I'm using SKSE and ScriptDragon, they are both fully updated. My Skyrim is fully updated to v1.851 aswell. I'm aware that settings in my Skyrimprefs.ini and Skyrim.ini might be causing this issue. Here's my Skyrim.ini Here's my Skyrimprefs.ini I've cleaned my Update.esm, Hearthfire.esm, Dawnguard.esm files with TES5Edit, using Gopher's youtube guide. I've checked whether this might be caused by mods and I've disabled all but a few and I still get the same result. With all my mesh folders intact, I fast traveled to Whiterun on a new clean savegame, then the game insta-crashed, just with the following mods activated: Update.esm Dawnguard.esm HearthFires.esm HighResTexturePack01.esp HighResTexturePack02.esp unofficial skyrim patch.esp HighResTexturePackFix.esp Unofficial Dawnguard Patch.esp Unofficial Hearthfire Patch.esp Any help with this would be appreciated greatly! Suggestions are very much welcome! Thankyou, PlanetSlayer

Hello. I've been having this problem all of today where I've been unable to select themain menu items from the full-screen main menu. Where 'new game / continue/ load / etc' are located. I have to use Task Manager to get out of it. They are not greyed out and simply do not react to my keystrokes and clicks. To my knowledge my hardware is fully updated. My system specs are: Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Service Pack 1 BIOS: Award Modular BIOS v6.00PG Processor: AMD Phenomâ„¢ II X6 1055T Processor (6 CPUs), ~2.8GHz Memory: 8192MB RAM DirectX Version: DirectX 11 Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti Sound: Nvidia High Definition Audio My Skyrim is currently fully patched and is version 1.8.51. What I have tried: 1.Systemmatically checking (user made) individual interface (SkyUI, etc) filesfor whether they're the cause 2. The sound fix (have tried both 16 and 24bits of 44100hz) 3. Verifying game files in steam and defragging with steam 4. Deactivating and moving all unofficial mods out of my Data folder 5. Renaming the scripts folder. 6. Turning my graphics settings down 7.Running all Steam and Skyrim related .exes with administrator privileges 8. Checking my steam workshop mod subscriptions for user posts describing similarissues 9. Running Skyrim using the default launcher instead of SKSE 10. Running Skyrim in windowed mode 11. Making sure the Gamepad (forbGamepadEnable=) was not enabledinSkyrimprefs.ini (it was not) 12. Using vanilla meshes, textures and sounds (I'm grasping at straws trying to fix this) 13. Restarting my computer XD Possible Causes: 1. I recently used SMCO (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/13529) on my BSAs, I have since reverted to using my back-ups of official Bethesda BSAs. They're the same version as my game. 2. I recently used Skyrim Configurator to edit my .INI files () (I'm hoping that verifying game files in Steam would have fixed this if this was the cause) 3. If I think of any more I will post my theories. Thankyou PlanetSlayer

I use the better males bodybuilder version and I also use Realistic Ragodolls and Force so I find that being launched in the 150ft air by a dragon is quite rude. Please make a fix to the better males bodybuilder skeleton model that would give it the same properties as the realistic ragdolls and force skeleton (preferably all versions as I like to go between them). Thankyou. P.S. I don't use the nude version cause I ain't into that.

I've found lately that I've been running out of gold because a lot of mods such as "Become King of Riverhelm". This has been an issue for me because I (like many others) don't agree with console commanding items such as gold into existence. SO.... I thought a lorefriendly mod for Skyrim could be earning your pay for becoming top dog of your respected guilds. The Dark Brotherhood obviously charge money for their services along witht the traditional sacrifices. The Companions Guild go out and help people don't you think now that you're their ahem "advisor" you should be getting some of the dough they're hauling in from saving so many people. The Thieves Guild now that's obvious. You should be getting heaps of loot from them after you've rebuilt them to their former glory. The Winterhold Mages Guild: The mages there are always offering services such as enchanting and are despite the hate for them instrumental in the Skyrim economy. The Blades could also be implemented in the mod. I wouldn't be surprised if they collected bounties on the Dragons they hunt down after all they have to eat, drink and maintain their equipment. This I think would be very helpful for many players who want to roleplay with the best equipment but don't want to spend their time doing generic fetch and grab quests (for example the Companions) to get money. Money earned could also be level based. The higher the level the more cash you earn. It makes sense because (I'll use the companions as an example again) as an advisor to the companions your advice would obviously be better, the more skilled and higher level you are. So the other companions might feel more compelled to share their earnings with you after all your advice could've save their lives. This also leaves room for many advancements or improvements. Such as managing the Companions guild via an ingame menu located in Jorrvaskrr(?) on a bench. Which you could send individual or a group of Companions out to tackle certain quests and after a certain amount of time they would return and you would speak to one of the head Companions like Aela the Huntress and she would hand you a share of the loot. (Think Assassins Creed Brotherhood) the more difficult the quests the more companions that could be assigned and the more money earned. Obviously this could be applied to the other guilds easily (as it is rather generic). Like send a group of Dark Brotherhodd assassin recruits ut to take down a pirate captain far in the north of Skyrim's waters. You could do some enchanting services for the mages guild. Like take a random piece of equipment from a spawn chest that respawns say every day with a certain amount of items. Then you can enchant them then deposit them in a seperate chest. The chest system would work like this: each time you take from the spawn chest you would recieve a key to the drop chest and after you enchant the items you place them in the drop chest and the key is taken away... repeat. Anyway I hope that someone with reasonable modding skills (and moderate scripting skills) could take this up and expand upon it. And be in it for the long term. As I'd really like it to be something like the Assassins Creed Brotherhood system. (If you don't know what that is there are videos on youtube that give previews of it). Thanks for reading and I hope you like the idea. PlanetSlayer
