I am sure many pepole think like me and.

So I think to make our beloved NMM handling mod files the way MO does is the wrong way.

So the only hope is to await a mod manager for Fallout 4 that isn't using profiling.

Sorry, but I am very disappointed.

    Let me correct my word:
I've given MO a try, so I HAVE USED it before.

  3. @kemadevil:

You better save your sarkasm, sometimes following the RTMF rule ist a life saver. So don't blame other people for your lazyness. Following basic rules is Awesome. Simply fantastic.

I am going to back up my entire system before I install this version of NMM.

BTW is NMM going to act like MO now? Because I HATE the way MO acts with my files, I want to have full control to my files/ overwrites etc.

On the other hand it is a pity if the development of NMM goes on and people like me who won't be using this profiling B$ wouldn't get the benefits of fixed NMM versions in the future.

  4. Instead of clicking the desired game when NMM starts it might be useful to add a parameter to the shortcut, something like "<PATH>/Nexus Mod Manager/NexusClient.exe" -game:skyrim

Is this possible or maybe still integrated? It's a nice idea to have for example different dock icons for Fallout 3, FNV, Skyrim etc. that all start NMM and auto-start the defined game.

  5. I even wonder how and why this in general great tool (many thanks for your effort, guys) becomes more and more unusable and buggy from one release to another. It's close to hilarious. Just a suggestion: Instead of adding more and more features it would be cool if the known bugs and misbehaviours would be eliminated. I still use v0.34.0, it runs relativeley stabel and has bugs that I can prevent to occur and it does everything i need to arrange my mods.
  6. It is a good idea to have a complete Backup of your Steam folder and store it in a safe place before applying a Skyrim update. I still have a backup from march 17 and I think it is better to lose some hours of game progress than getting my teeth broken by biting the edge of my wooden table...
  7. Example:

One of the Stones of Barenziah was located in the Thalmor embassy, sice Patch 1.5 it is located in the Reeking cave under the Embassy.

Now when I launch the CK and load skyrim.esm and update.esm the stone should be located in the cave but it is still placed inside the embassy. How does this happen?

  8. Had that kind of problem some time ago, but has nothiung to do with Win7 x64.

    Try to:

    -uninstall NMM

    -delete C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\Nexus Mod Manager

    -delete C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Black_Tree_Gaming <-! ! ! !

    Hope that fixes the problem.

And please no comment "I don't have a folder called USERNAME" ;-)

  9. Post updated:

The NexusClient.exe is responsible for the issue. As I said before new programs cannot be startet: This is not true. For example launching a new task manager is still possible but the window does not appear immediately as usual. An hour ago I deinstalled and reinstalled all of my mods and after that I closed NMM. Then the freezing was there again but I had a process monitor running so I could check some tasks. And the NexusClient. exe was the only task which I could get NO information from, the task could not be killed and so on. For every other task in the list I could get information but not for NexusClient.exe.

And after waiting half an hour the first window of the previously startet task manager came up.

I hope the dev team reads this.

  10. This happens with v0.15.15

Sometimes after I have deinstalled/reinstalled/ new installed some mods and then close NMM my OS (Windows 7 x64) freezes in a very "special" way. I cannot start any new task, no explorer, no taskmanager or whatever. Running tasks like Firefox for example still work well and can be closed. I cannot shut down Windows by Start Menu or per cmd line. I must turn off the PC.

I cannot figure out what exactly the source for this behaviour is but it happens often after closing NMM when I have changed mods a short time before.

  11. Sorry to ask that but I am a little confused after reading all the thread, maybe my English isn't that good...

The only tool I am using for launching the game is the NMM and I often change/ install new mods manually, all without the automatic installation function of the NMM.

When I have done changes I re-order the ESMs/ ESPs in the load list to my personal preference.

So this is my question: Will that load oder be ignored or is ist the order in which the files will be loaded?

  12. In my case I had this issue with Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas Nexus sites, Skyrim Nexus works fine. Dragonage etc. I am not interested in, so I cannot say what's going on there.

    ---

    Quick Fix:

Copy C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts onto your desktop and open it with notepad.

under the last comment line (starts with #) I put this lines:

    184.173.181.29 static.fallout3nexus.com

    184.173.181.29 static.newvegasnexus.com

Save the file as hosts.txt, remove the .txt prefix and copy it to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts, overwrite existing file.

If you have this issue with another site (this example: Skyrim Nexus), do the following:

In your browser right click on a picture that isn't displayed (only has a blank area or an X) and display the properties of the picture. You can see the full path, for example

h t t p://static.skyrim.nexusmods.com/images/noimage-1.png (I have stretched the http to h t t p to get it displayed properly here in this post)

Got to your hosts file as described and put in this line (I follow the example) as described above:

    184.173.181.29 static.skyrim.nexusmods.com

    Done.

    Advantage: It works

Disadvantage: If the IP adress gets changed in the future that hosts are not reachable anymore unless you correct your hosts file, keep that in mind!

If this does not work immediately do the following:

    -refresh the website

    or

-open command line window and type in

    ipconfig /flushdns

    or

    restart your PC.

  13. I don't know why people have so many problems using FOMM and NMM the same time. I use FOMM for Fallout 3 and for Fallout New Vegas, installed two times, one in each game directory. And I have installed NMM installed in Skyrim game directory. I really like FOMM so why shall I use it for Fallout 3 or New Vegas?
  14. Can anyone help me?

I keep having trouble with the manager

i cant install mods thrugh it , rather it has a problem with the crash dump

or some erros that says it install the mod

but in reality it dosent as soon as i start skyrim

Downgrade to v 0.12.7, same problem here.
