  1. I know I've been able to go to Falkreath and other minor holds on a carriage before and the only mod I use is SkyUI. It also costs more to go to minor holds.
  2. Nightingale Hall has safe storage and beds.
  3. I have one that's completed the civil war for the Imperials and Dawnguard for the Dawnguard side (but only about half of the main quest) if you'd be interested. Edit: just finished up the main quest line.
  4. I would skip the Atronach perk unless you NEVER plan on using any Conjuration summoning spells (soul trap and bound weapon spells are unaffected). Spell absorption blocks summoning spells x% of the time (where x is your Spell Absorption). If you plan on using Heavy or Light armor, you should also focus on Smithing (ideally something that is also affected by a perk). If you don't, having 3/3 Mage Armor would be ideal since the most you can get is 300 Armor from Ebonyflesh. You should also decide between Smithing and Conjuration. Bound weapons are nice early on but ultimately do not scale as well as weapons that can be affected by Smithing perks (it's also kind of annoying having to recast bound weapons every couple of minutes). Edit: you should also consider Destruction Dual Casting and Impact because Impact is amazing (unless you're set on using a weapon main hand and spell off hand or vice versa all the time).
  5. SLI isn't worth it. Most of the time it doesn't produce a noticeable difference and some games don't even support it.
  6. After I just became Guild Master for the Thieves Guild, I walked past Vekel the Man and he said (for the 100th time): "So you're Brynjolf's new protege, eh? Don't look like much to me." I really, really wish I could kill him. Edit: wow, it seems that many don't recognize you as Guild Master, or at least their reaction dialog never changes. I set Vekel to nonessential and put a bolt through his skull and Vex still referred to me as "Brynjolf's little protege" when I went to go pay reparations.
  7. Have you tried binding the daggers to a key then pressing the key twice?
  8. I ended up killing my bard because she wouldn't shut up singing "Ragnar the Red" constantly while I was enchanting my gear.
  9. One time my Lara Croft got breast cancer. It was pretty dramatic considering how vulnerable she was while still persisting on her worldly adventures despite her illness. I was shocked, stunned and moved.
  10. After you complete Dawnguard, you're left with the Dragon scroll (the one needed for the main quest). You can only sell 2 of 3 scrolls to Dexion.
  11. I've been looking for a fix for this as well and so far I haven't found a solution except for the NPC Editor which I didn't want to have to use. It's also annoying because it means that you can't give your Stewards and Housecarls better armor (well you can but they'll unequip it as soon as you dismiss them and leave.
  12. The second question is not a yes or no question.
  13. It's also kinda off putting that about half of them have the same "voice actor" as Mercer Frey.
  14. Unfortunately, you can't enchant that on Hand items. There aren't that many useful enchants available for casters for Hand items other than Fortify Magicka (maybe Fortify Carry Weight).
  15. Libraries > Documents > My Games > Skyrim > Saves
  16. 100 Smithing, Enchanting and Alchemy (and Deadly Aim of course). You can do up to around 600 physical damage per shot, not counting elemental damage enchants or the 3x crit multiplier (and this is without any cheats or exploits).
  17. Smithing (and its perks) is the best way early on because you can craft and improve progressively better armor and weapons. Later on there's Enchanting and Alchemy which can further enhance your Smithing skill as well as your One-Handed skill.
  18. The problem is that the display cases in Hearthfire can be buggy. Sometimes items will disappear or clip into the display case or walls.
  19. You can buy sawn logs (or saw them yourself if you've done a task for the owner) at ANY mill (even Riverwood), not just Half Moon Hill. You can also hire a steward who you can pay to buy sawn logs (or any other construction material besides Iron or Corundum).
  20. No, to all of your suggestions. As long you aren't experiencing graphical artifacts, having your computer lock up or experiencing any blue screen emergency shutdowns while playing Skyrim or any other comparable games, overheating shouldn't be an issue or the cause of your crashes. Laptops just don't age well and aren't that good for games (especially considering how expensive they are compared to desktops), at least that has been my experience.
  21. Dawnguard is more of a nagging annoyance until you fully complete the questline because vampires will start attacking cities whenever you fast travel to them if it's night when you arrive. It doesn't help that any non-essential (and non-guard) NPCs nearby have no sense of self preservation either. They can also attack during the day if you fast travel somewhere outside a city then manually go into the city and rest at an inn or something (although these are just the vampires that are sent to kill you every x number of days).
  22. If all else fails, only Sergeant Lee has to live in order to complete the quest (which you can after Eddie is dead). The easiest way to do this is to sneak kill all Powder Gangers inside the Facility except Eddie. Alternatively, you could just reverse pickpocket some better armor, weapons and ammo onto Lee and let him do all the dirty work.
