Having trouble with 4th core on amd. Help?
N3C14R replied to PowderdToastMan's topic in Hardware and software discussion
OC'ing is like a hobby. Just like vehicle tuning, what's the point of dumping 600+ bhp into a car while you're limited to about 100km/h on the highway? Because you can. Plus it's kinda fun trying to out do other oc'er with the most points on 3D Mark. -
 Nice! What clocks is your 920 running btw?

Having trouble with 4th core on amd. Help?

Reset cmos and reconfigure bios? Increase vcore? Decrease overclock? Make sure all cores are enabled in bios? Possible cpu damage/degradation from high vcore? That's all I could think of. :( -
Ooooo... Nice combo.

Copy & paste C:\ drive. Then delete obsolete data (Windows folder, program files, etc) :) Been doing that since I changed computers, upgraded from XP Pro, Vista and finally 7.

You can't really partition a drive that already has data on it. If you have an external drive, just transfer all her important data onto it, format the drive and split it into two NTFS partitions. A 60:40 ratio partition would be good since Win 7 has a larger installation than xp so the 60:40 ratio would benefit by having a more even free space between the 2 OS'es.

It will run fine, at least on medium I think.

The 2600k is just a 2600 with a fully unlocked multiplier. The 560 is just a 560 Ti that has been underclocked and has some of its features disabled. Hence the cheaper price.

A non ti 560? DO NOT WANT.

Yea, it doesn't work on Windows 7. After installation something bums out and you can't ever load the "CD," so yea... Works on Vista though. That's what I was playing it on... Until I got 7 -_- Daggerfall's super fun stuff! Lol, pretty crazy game for how old it is... (not SUPER old, but pretty old...) It appearently takes a full two, real weeks to walk across the entire map! WOAH! I though Morrowind had a big map... Oblivion's map was tiny... You all people need this: http://theelderscrol...erfallSetup.exe Neatly packed, including installer, just go trough installer and play, no worries with setup. It's optimized for WinXP and should run fine on Win Vista and 7 too, I think ( not tested ). Oh and there is also lot of fan bug-fixes and optional content, if you feel like it. Enjoy. The installer didn't work for me on Win 7 x64. So I installed Windows 3.11 in Virtual PC and ran the original Daggerfall setup from there. I also got it working in Dosbox but it seemed to stutter when I enter a crowded tavern/area. Even though I set my cpu cycles right up.

Looks like Minecraft with some eye candy and no shadows, spectacular lighting, tessellation, etc. Worst than vanilla Oblivion. -
Humm.. some of my favorite oldies are: Jazz Jackrabbit series. Worms series. Need for Speed 3. Unreal tournament. Brave Fencer Musashi. Castlevania. Gran Turismo 1 and 2. Heretic 2. Sacred. Freespace 2.

Just Google DDR3 ram timings. The latency is as important as how fast the ram runs at. Usually the tighter the timings, the more responsive the ram is, and allows for higher overclocks without compromising decreased ram speed. Here's a short article I recommend, be aware it's a little outdated but it's still relevant: http://www.overclock...gs-dummies.html -

As long as they have decent timings, CAS9 is mainstream for gaming, workstations, etc while CAS7 is aimed towards more extreme enthusiasts. Unlike that AMD Radeon memory bullcrap with CAS11. -
It does for me. I see a difference of 0.1 for the cpu score when running on 2.8ghz and 3.8ghz.

What's better MacBook Pro or Alienware?
N3C14R replied to xXlakratoXx's topic in Hardware and software discussion
Both are nasty. Sager ftw! But unfortunately they don't come with the flashy flashy lights like the Alienwares/Dells. http://www.xoticpc.com/custom-gaming-laptops-notebooks-clevo-sager-notebooks-ct-95_51_162.html -
Depends on the motherboard/chipset capabilities, eg H55/P55 mobos only allows x16 on single cards while in sli/xfire both cards are limited to x8/x8 mode. X58 mobos allow 2 cards in sli/xfire to run in x16/x16 while in tri-sli/trifire the third card is limited to x8 while the rest run in x16.

Never thought of it like that.

Bethesda threatens Minecraft creator with lawyers

Just because they are going to name a game Scrolls does not automatically mean everyone is going to associate it with The Elder Scrolls. It's just like saying Activision suing Techland because they have Call in their Call of Juarez games and they assume everyone is going to associate it with their Call of Duty franchise. -
Someone posted a video of it on youtube, don't think anyone would be banned for a youtube video amirite?
