  1. thanks for talking about that FO4 mod i had no idea FO4 had a mod like this, so i'm going to use it from now on.
  2. i think they should have allowed both options, so for the players who wanted a voiced player they could turn on that as an option, but if they didn't want it, it could be turned off.
  3. your right, it will likely look bugged, but if the craft hovered, that issue wouldn't be quite as bad, as i have seen in some old skyrim mount mods, the modder made it so you could ride one of those whisp things and the riding was very smooth, but that whisp could be reskinned to look like a starwars speeder bike and it would function very well. so i'm thinking so long as the land rover looks like a hover craft without wheels it might be able to pull it off without looking too funny and uncanny to the eye.
  4. it makes me wonder if some of the working assets for games like skyrim could be ported over, like riding a horse, it could be remodled onto a creature that exists in starfield, but it could function on the existing animals, i know it's possible to port assets from bethesda games so long as it's within the same engine the creation engin which starfield is using. i saw a modder for a dwemer mod for skyrim port over the assets of FO4's vault opening and closing sequence and it worked seamlessly, so it makes me think the skyrim riding horse mechanic could also work for starfield, now there was also a mount mod for smoother travel, you know those whisp things in skyrim, well a modder made a mount mod where you could ride one of these things and it was very smooth, so i'm thinking if the model was reskinned that it could also function like a starwars speeder bike, so if it was fashoned as a rover of some kind, it could look like it hovered, because one thing bethesda games don't do to well is actional functionality like wheels and shocks on the ground, the object will look really dumb and static, so the next best thing is to make the craft a hovering platform. but i believe they could also tweak your jetpack to function more like ironman's jetpack functionality so you could fly everywhere on a planet, it might have to have some kind of threshod for the hight of your flight so you don't end up in space after flying to high but i think that kind of thing is possible.
  5. how about some not so lore friendly companions lol, bring lydia on your missions lol. ok ok ok, i'm just joking, sort of, i mean there are some charactors we liked in skyrim.
  6. i wish the game would use the mechanics of the vampire diaries, just before finding this forum i was looking for a mod that would be based on a sire system like in the Originals when they brought up the idea that vampires exist along the lines of who sired them, and so long as the sire dies, so does all of their underlings, so if you were to take out an original you would also take out their entire blood line in one kill. now obviously this wouldn't be completely possible in skyrim with the lore of skyrim, serana hasn't created any vampires that we know of, but perhaps her mother and defiantly her father has, but another thing that was missing in skyrim was vampire rivalry's where there is a war between bloodlines of vampire society with various factions and elements that exist where they constantly try to overthrow each other, there is maybe a little semblance of something like this, but it's not directly communicated to the player through stibil Stentor where she sends you on a mission to take out a vampire coven, now she admits that she doesn't think you are even capable of that, so she essentially admits she's sending you to your death while making it sound like she wants them dead, but when you come back she's surprised that you defeated them and then goes on to explain in the most subtle way that she's a vampire that values refinery which is why she exists working with the solitude government. the people in the solitude court sound like they also know it, but perhaps it's more of a vague understanding as they also know how long she's been there and that she does some experiment's that they allow her to do without bias or very little knowledge about, what these experiment's might be? who knows, but she's been a ruling part of solitudes government for a long time and they all seem agreeable with her, perhaps she has them under some kind of control like in vampire diaries where you can bend people to your will using her vampire speech craft and everyone in the court are manipulated to her vampire charm or under her spell. anyway i like the idea of the daylight rings and the idea of people taking vervane to keep the vampires in line, perhaps a mechanic could exist that works like this, and perhaps it's only introduced into the populations food supply when there is vampire activity based on the frequency of that activity by the organizations that exist to keep the humans safe from the vampire population, but perhaps these people can also get their entire crop burned down via sabotage or something as a way to make them not have what is needed to help the population, where vampire hunters are dispatched to hunt you down, which could include the silver hand as well as the dawnguard and the vigilant's. but the vampire's also have the ability to turn people as their underlings, like say you wanted to turn an entire bandit hideout into a vampire coven, which means you would have to kill them using your fangs to also turn them, so they come back to life as vampires, depending on your skills, maybe they aren't vampire lords, but they are perhaps fledglings, but they are all sired to you and will protect you and your territory, you could have entire bandit strongholds as your territory dotted across the map and could create an empire of vampires and also another line of vampires to go against Harkon's. ah, but who am i kidding, nobody will read this lol, it's simply too long too detailed and too much to make happen. but i did have fun indulging these ideas, and i have so much more i could bring to these ideas.
  7. really cool concept, one that i have seen done very well in the newer assassins creed games which started in origins and then went to odyssey and to valhala. but yeah, it would be great to see sovengarde as a much bigger landscape, perhaps the land has a few quests within the mist to help weaken Alduin's grip on the souls of the immortal dead before the dragonborn is able to get the help of the hero's to take down Alduin with their help, not much would be changed to how the vanilla events take place, but some of them would be somewhat delayed due to some things that need to be destroyed in order to help give the hero's of sovengarde a fighting chance against Alduin. the weird thing is if you look at the cell of this place, bethesda left a lot of odd things within the cell and seemed to add in experiential things outside of the map that were used for something, but there is plenty of room within the map that could be fixed or taken out and recreating this whole cell to expand on the overall size of the afterlife of sovengarde to make it much more epic in not only design but scope and depth of the area. perhaps Alduin's fight is a little harder as well as he brings a few more dragons with him, or maybe they were the blockades in the dragonborn's way that needed to be defeated in order to grant the hero's more strength in the fight against Alduin.
  8. it's too bad nobody responded to this post, i happen to think it's a great idea, right now i'm thinking about a similar idea but it will allow all races, the easiest would be for the argonians, but other races can prepare using water breathing potions or enchantment tech possibly created by the dwemer to breath underwater, but i was also thinking it would be cool if there were an underwater city like the bioshock rapture, city using dwemer ruins as the base, perhaps it could be an abandoned research facility and maybe even a water treatment center that has dwemer pips heading in all directions under the sea on the floor bed of the sea. maybe there are specialized underwater centurion bots repairing the structure within the sea, and perhaps the player comes across an broke down dwemer centurion and finds a control cube to open a compression chamber to enter into the city.
  9. i just happen to read that entire thing, after watching a video done by camelworks on youtube on this very topic. in his video he suggests that the silver hand could have been within the companions at some point in their distant history. eventually one of the members found out about "the circle" and quit or was exiled from being an companion, then as revenge he started his own faction in taking down the companions as they were now imposters ruling as companions. but because their were numerous infected members, and there was no time to find sufficient evidence, it became better to build his own faction, so that one day they can take back the companions title as the rightful faction leaders once again, but for the time being, he chose to go under the name of "the silver hand" i want to say the leader was this skinner guy as he was at the top of the ranks of the silver hand and the only non generic named NPC and was said to have defeated skyor as his werewolf corpse laid on the alter. i mean it's just a theory, but id say it's a damn good one, with an compelling alternate story line that would make sense to the story the companions quest runs alongside.
  10. i got it to work in my game. it's not perfect but it's much more tolerable than before. i was getting the 12 FPS and now i'm getting at least an average of 44 FPS. i do wonder if i went slightly higher with this ini setting if it could improve a little more, but for now i will just leave it here as it's pretty damn good FPS boost.
  11. you say it doesn't work anymore, but i'm going to try it anyway, this lag is unbearable, most other areas in my game run smoothly but the entire rift is so laggy it makes me sick to my stomach.
  12. it's some change that has been made for this site, and something to do with the nexus being in the EU. i'm in the usa, and it's also effecting us. it's been like this for a month at least. i know it's not my wifi box or our service provider.
  13. i came up with an idea for a mod that nobody has ever come up with...i have tried to tinker around in the creation kit to find some things...but i'm not really experienced in working in the kit. i want to achieve underwater visualizations. i want to use the same effect that you run into at the top of the throat of the world. where you find that tear in time. it's the perfect visualization for underwater distortion...now i do not know what that is categorized as in the creation kit. but i would love to find a way of implementing this effect to all under water areas in the game. i don't care if anyone else makes this mod..or if i just get some help in making such a thing possible. but it certainly is a cool idea. the only other mod i found that was somewhat the same concept idea. was watery eyes when you exit the water it's briefly blurry when you get out of the water. i also thought about a heat wave cloak that would use this same visualization instead of the crazy bright flame cloak visualization. or even go further with it in making skyrim look hot by attaching heat waves to specific things in the game. this visualization could be used in many different circumstances while in game. i don't know what kind of effect this would do to performance but it might be worth the try.
