zhask
It will always be the same story, i install Project Nevada, i get EDE and another companion, i join the brotherhood for the power training so i can wear Enclave armor, i kill benny, do all DLC's, pick an ending (Legion NCR and Yes-Man i've done so far) and then finish the game. I know there is a lot of variety and random events in the game, but i want more. Does anyone have tips for me ? laclongquan
Download the Slower Leveling Mod, 3x (triple xp requirement for each level). That will put you in playing FNV at low level for most of the game (all the side quest and preBenny). you will make use of almost all the low level weapons. To really slow it down, addperk the Skilled trait in, not choosing it, that will make you suffer -10% EXP but not increase Skill level (it really is the most overpowered trait of the game). Change to VERY HARD Drop EVERY ARMORS. Well, if you really want, use only Light. Me, I dont bother. You can play FNV VeryHard at nekkid status with no problem. Make use of the sneak skill, even if you dont do the stealth-play (as most of the times a straight up battle is more fun than stealth kills, FNV being easy as it is). Tips for when things get tough: Use chems, foods, drinks to boost your ability. Fixers to cure addictions if you really cant be bothered to visit a doctor. -------------------------------------------High Level play most of the game. Same mod as above but use the player.addlevel to level yourself upto level 30. Adjust the skill point and perks properly. Your xp will not change, which mean you will be stuck at level 30 at a hell of a long time. addperk Skilled like above may even stall you longer. But, this is important, you wont get much xp from killing fixed low level enemies and so-so xp for dangerous enemies. There're few leveled locks and hacks that will really f*#@ you up if you mess up your support skills. And since you are at level 30, enemies will be at high level state. They may have good loots, but before you can get outfit properly, you will be f*#@ed up. And since you are at the beginning of the game, Your equipment is really sucks. Using Varmint rifles to fight lvel 30 hostiles?
peadar1987
I'm doing a play-through with no fast-travel, and it's surprisingly satisfying. I've had to make strategic stashes at certain points in the wasteland to avoid having to trek back to Vegas or Novac every time I want to tool up for a mission, and really need to plan my movements, and what gear I can and can't take with me, because it's going to be a long while before I next stop by the Gun Runners to buy ammo and sell loot. Also, the speed penalties from heavier armour really start to make a difference when switching to medium armour is going to mean an extra fifteen minutes on the trip from Cottonwood Cove to Red Rock Canyon. I do allow myself the odd fast travel, if I've been sent on a pointless fetch quest all the way across the map, and would have to retrace my steps for half an hour to get back to any sign of civilisation, but it's almost like playing a different game, much more absorbing. laclongquan
Gimping myself that way.... okay, when I am bored with high/low, I will try that. But at first glance I can tell there's a few areas that will be very rarely visited, Jacobstown for once.

It's a trek to get there, so I have to plan my movements, go up once when I'm passing out the radio codes to the ranger stations, and again later with Rex, and investigating the reports of Deathclaw attacks, and as part of Arcade's side quest
Slikpik
Do you play on Hardcore? It's really fun and makes the Fallout experience a whole lot better
laclongquan
I cant even imagine playing without Hardcore. The game is not that hard. If anything, Hardcore doesnt go far enough: 2 hours sleep each day? one pound of gecko steak every day? Anyway, about the no Fast Travel. What happen when you pass old world blues and get that instant movement gun to travel to The Sink?

What happen when you pass old world blues and get that instant movement gun to travel to The Sink? Easy answer, I haven't completed Old World Blues yet! Project Nevada settings allow you to increase the rate at which you get hungry, thirsty, and tired, which makes the hardcore mode more challenging.
