Ransu90
Still having this problem today. What's odd is my Android phone, which is connected to the same network, downloads from Nexus Mods much faster than my PC but my download speed is fine if I were to install games from Steam, for example. The only way I've gotten it to go a little bit faster is by downloading through Vortex which only gets up to 14 MB/s with a large file so it's still a lot slower than expected. Ransu90
Still slow. Not getting more than 2.9 MB/s at the moment.
Pickysaurus
Our system does not apply any kind of limits to Premium members, so you'll get the files as fast as your connection will allow. Looking at your results, it may imply some kind of ISP-limiting or just simply bad routing. Do you have access to a VPN to see if that makes any difference to your speeds? Also, it'd be silly if my ISP is limiting me only on this website when I can download games at 60 MB/s through Steam. My phone downloads files from Nexus Mods faster than my PC does, too. Dark0ne
I do not. Also, it'd be silly if my ISP is limiting me only on this website when I can download games at 60 MB/s through Steam. My phone downloads files from Nexus Mods faster than my PC does, too. Every major ISP in the world maintains Steam caches so that the bandwidth never leaves their network and you can be served at full speed. Same for Netflix and other major services that use a lot of bandwidth. They do not maintain Nexus Mods caches as we are not big enough. What we have seen recently with some major ISPs (and have managed to confirm with some of our users) is that they are packet shaping our downloads and forcing some of our users' download speed lower. If your download starts off fast and then very quickly drops to lower speeds then this is a clear sign that your ISP is packet shaping your traffic to Nexus Mods. There is nothing we can do about this and your ISP is fully to blame. My recommendation is to try a VPN. If the download speeds are faster on a VPN, then it is your ISP that is at fault. Ransu90
I tried a few VPN's and they didn't help. They just ended up being slower, in fact. I also tried installing another web browser then downloaded a file, but it's still capped at 3 MB/s after logging in.
