dtstraub
I followed along with the following tutorial from the Nexus: https://wiki.nexusmods.com/index.php/Modding_Skyrim_Special_Edition_with_Vortex None of these appears to have worked. Sky UI and immersive armors plugins say not deployed. I have been playing the steam version for roughly 4 years now so ive been using mods from the game, but i wanted to expand so ive disabled all of these mods on the game so i can play with mods from the nexus. Ive redownloaded and reextracted the SKES64 and Sky UI items i dont know how many times, i can launch the game thru the script extender, but i cannot get the other mods to work. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Gorsha
SKSE64 belongs to Skyrim SE. There are no mods for Skyrim SE on steam, only the game, and you need Skyui 5.2. If you wish to play with mods from steam than you need to play with Skyrim LE. Then you need SKSE + Skyui 5.1.Probably Skyrim LE is the version you played, because there was it possible to integrate mods trough steam. If you still play that version, and disabled the mods from steam, you can find probably all the mods you already had here on nexus. You only need to download it with Vortex and enable them. Moksha8088
Prior to Microsoft buying Bethesda, I thought every Skyrim SE download came from Steam (unless it was pirated).
IsharaMeradin
Prior to Microsoft buying Bethesda, I thought every Skyrim SE download came from Steam (unless it was pirated). This is true. There was some confusion earlier (at least it looks that way) where one thought that the OP had stated that they used Steam mods. However, they actually said that they "used mods from the game". This more likely indicates that they used Creation Club content which can be obtained through the game, rather than using mods from Steam. At any rate, because I do not use Vortex, I cannot give any insight into the issue as presented in the original post.

So update on my issue as it appears I forgot to say issue resolved on this page: first: lmfao, yes I did that many times. I eventually uninstalled both vortex and skyrim after clearing out the mods. Reinstalled both, but I made sure that the actual application of vortex was installed on the same drive as skyrim, not just having the mod folder on the same drive, mainly as a "what if I just do this" Didnt have any issues after that and mods worked fine. Had issues with some of the mods not working to well together (not incompatible, just didnt work well together) which happens with mods.

Not sure where they actually come from (Beth or Steam), but my first mod install was direct from the games' "in game" steam/bethesda mod server, a "Waterview" home by LeanneG (and which tbh, is still my favorite player home even though I have...several) . I learned about Nexus with a few days when I began troubleshooting a UI issue I had at the time, which was resulting in a frozen interface every time I encountered a modal dialog box, and which was eventually solved using Better Message Box Controls from Nexus. Installed Vortex (I'd never had to use a "mod manager" before and it just seemed a logical choice at Nexus). I've never looked back.
