Wygorski Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 Hello folks, Situation: Using latest version of vortex on Win10, and sharing a game to another user on the PC, using Steams family sharing. Game is Blade & Sorcery, and the mods involved are Medieval mega pack and local multiplayer. The user borrowing the game can not start it because the game can not load various mod files as they have no permission to access them. The higher level MODS directory has been assigned full permissions for the relevant users, and has permission inheritance enabled.Once this is done, game works fine, mods load. Problem:Mod receives an updated version, the same bug occurs. Works fine for default user, not for user borrowing. Checking permissions again, the MOD directory still has correct permissions, but the file (which isnow updated) that gave problems before has been installed/reverted to restrictive permissions, seemingly ignoring the permissions that it should inherit. Since it affects two unrelated mods, I suspect this not a mod issue. Question:Is there a way to permanently fix this? Is this even a vortex issue, or is it related to Win10? I do not know enough about windows permission behavior (linux user here) , so maybe this has nothing to do with Vortex, but since it manages the involved files, I figured I ask here first. Thank you Wygorski
HadToRegister Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 Do you have Vortex set as PER-USER or SHARED?
Wygorski Posted June 19, 2021 Author Posted June 19, 2021 Right! I had it on the per user setting. I did not know this option exists. Many thanks! GreetingsWygorski
