Slaiv
We're not the MEMod. We're not obssesively concerned with getting every little tiny detail right. [Peregrine mode]The fact is that Jawas and Tuskens won't be playable, and that's that.[/Peregrine mode]
UberBender
I agree with Slaiv, it dosen't matter, we are just trying to make a fun mod.
Dinin
Referring back to the pics of the rontos, they look like they could be like the morrowind silt striders in star wars style. Of course you wouldn't call them silt striders, but it wouldn't be a bad idea to use them as a source of transportation between certain parts of the Tatooine cities. hundinman
i think that all of us of on the project are serious fans but we are not professionals. we make mistakes and the mod does not have to be perfect. HM
Slaiv
Good idea about the Silt Strider thing...
utherdoul
*wow!* I'm getting excited about this mod! Are you going to put the twin suns of Tatooine in? Will that be difficult? (I'm just starting to learn how to mod, etc) Also - A simple way to get around the Tusken / Jawa thing... If they're NPC's only, the only time you could actually remove clothing is when they're dead, right? So what f when you tried to take the Tusken clothes, a dialogue box came up implying that your character doesn't want to touch the Tusken that much coz of smell / decay / fear, etc. Perhaps the same with Jawas - maybe they're so dirty, smelly, diseased, etc, that you are stopped from taking their clothes...? Just a thought that occured to me. And maybe (this is just me rambling / fantasizing now...) you can buy Tusken / Jawa clothes (if you're a small race, of course) and then jin their 'clans' and do quests for them... *wow* that'd be really amazing! Geonox
well if you consider reading books is a time consuming stupid actions (waste of time) it is your choice. but when after the relase of your mod if someone comes and say "hey it is wrong in this mod, books say that blah blah but it is not it must be" or some kinds of think, you will be only a subject of mockery for most of serious star wars fans.I never said that reading books is a stupid thing and a waste of time to do. I have read books. But I meant it's a waste of time if we are going to read a lot of books and put a lot of time in it for such a small detail. There are no descriptions on how they look underneath there clothes. That's what I said. I've never said that we won't do any research. So that last thing which you said didn't make sence. "i never said that i want naked jawas and some tusken jerks or like that. i said only i wish to jawas and tuskans be playable races" Well the thing is that you still have to learn something about making new races. In morrowind you can change your outfits, add new armor and stuff. In order to make this realistic you have to be able to put off your helm if you are a Tusken. "serious star wars fans" You don't think I'm a serious starwars fan? You don't think that Xan is a serious starwars fan? We'll how can you say that you don't know us so I'm srry.besides like hundinman said, We are not professionals. The only one who knows everything about starwars itself is George Lucas himself and some others. We are just trying to make a nice mod, and stay true to the starwars universe. So please do not doubt our starwars knowledge and certainly not the knowledge of Xan. But I don't want to have a fight with you I just wanna make a nice mod but you said: "we have no referance" is not an excuse. So basicly you mean that we simply are not doing a great job on research and avoid difficult subjects such like what they look like underneath their clothes. The team is doing a great research job so don't worry about that part. We are doing the best we can. There will always be people who ask why I didn't made the Tusken race playable. Well that's an decision which we have made end of discussion. If you want to be able to play with them you can add them yourself but I think it will be more unrealistic to play as an tusken and walk through the towns then play an normal character. But that was something you should know right? As an serious starwars fan?
Geonox
Srry for the double post! ^_^ But I also wanted to answer some other questions. @ Dinin: Yeah well we already have other things in mind to travel with. It will be a lot of more options then only a ronto. Oh btw, ronto's will not be a transport. There will be other things which you can travel with but not ronto's. But you will see which things I mean once the mod is finished ^_^ @ utherdoul: Yeah well I haven't pointed out that part but I have thought about the two suns. I don't know if it's possible, I certainly hope so. The idea of the tusken is nice but my idea was to make them an creature. Not real npc's. So removing their clothes would not be possible. Allthough I think it's a nice idea. ^_^ . About the tusken armor: No that will not be possible. I'm thinking about something like that but I can't say what. It would be very unwise to walk into a town with an tusken outfit. Tusken are known as a very agressive race. They only live in clans and are travelling in the desert. It's not likely that you will see an Tusken in a town. Actually it's better to avoid a large city like Mos Eisley for an Tusken. So no you won't be able to buy one. For the Jawa outfit: That would be possible but not the glowing eyes thing. You will simply get some sort of robe like in morrowind. Jawas have glowing eyes of their own... Slaiv
I like the Tusken ideas.... Tusken clothes would be cool. I think that you should be able to find them, if you look hard enough. Maybe not available to buy, maybe in the Tusken camps...
cactoblasta
It is possible to have a new sky - it was discussed on the official forum a little while back. I wish I could put a link in, but the forums are closed there at the moment. You might have to use interiors rather than exteriors though. Sorry I can't give more details, but my memory's a little hazy.
