I use the nexus mod manager, i could never get that Skyrim Oblivion mod manager port to work, sigh it has so much potential.

I mostly do manual, because a lot of authors don't think to pack (and compress preferably) their data into bsa files which makes the game run much smoother. If I go straight to NMM I get lots of meshes, textures, sounds, etc. in many folders which is more of a ask for the game to read.

Sometimes with I will do this then 7zip them and then use a mod manager to take advantage of the config UI.

FYI I could only vote for one so I chose my favourite, most used one :)

I use Wrye Bash... I will even repack mods that I've downloaded to be more Wrye Bash friendly when ready to install. I would have Wyre Bash wash my car and mow the lawn if it could. :)

BSA you say, sounds like a good idea.

I usually install manually cause I pack loose files into BSA archives. For managing, Fallout Mod Manager, NMM is too limited in it's functionality (plus, it doesn't work on Linux).

NMM. I lack the technical skills to do reliable manual installs, and NMM's got everything I need. I like it a lot as a program, it was a tad unreliable at first, but it's matured really well. Props to the team.
