Tidus44
usufruct; the right to use and enjoy the profits and advantages of something belonging to another as long as the property is not damaged or altered in any wayLegal system that utilizes this? it's an amusing concept just can't imagine where it's in force. In locations where civil law as opposed to common law is used. France, Spain are two that come to mind. In North America, Quebec and Louisiana have Civil Codes that retain the principles of usufruct. Not sure of Louisiana, but Quebec retains it from the seigneurial system where the habitants grew crops for both themselves and for the land owner. In the 1980's the Supreme Court of Canada recognized the concept, but didn't actually make it part of common law. The issue rose due to the use of a river to generate electricity, but has been used in civil cases involving the use of city land (empty lots) where persons have grown gardens (urban farming), in timeshare and condominium issues and for use of First Nation lands by non-first nation persons. eunomy; The enactment of good laws that help people. Tidus44
Incondite; in reference to literary or artistic compositions that are poorly constructed; crude. Hugely disappointed.Saw the trailer for the movie “The Equalizer” and had hoped it would be somewhat like the TV show with Edward Woodward with that great sound track. Sadly, it looks like another “man with a dark mysterious past slaughters bad guys in multiple ways” with rap music in the background. Guess I’ll stick to the books and the DVDs from the original series. Denzel did an awesome job in the remake of the 1987 Man on Fire (one of 3 movies that scare the crap out of me), but I think The Equalizer is going to be just another mediocre movie.
