I installed skyrim VR on steam in external hard drive, but vortex will only work on a specific file

please excuse my ignorance with computers, i'm new to this.

i installed the game from steam in a D/: drive and then vortex in the same. When i tried to download SKSEVR, it seems like it needs to be on C/:users>appdata>roaming> vortex>downloads.

as far as i know you have to have the mods installed in the same place as your game. Is there a way to do this or do i have to install everything again in C/:

First of all Vortex can be installed on ANY drive, the ONLY thing that needs to be on the same drive as your game is the MOD STAGING FOLDER

 

SKSEVR is going to C/:users>appdata>roaming> vortex>downloads because that's where your DOWNLOAD folder is.

 

Here's where to set the location of your Download folder, and your Mod Staging Folder
