OpheliaNeoma
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/gmod/gmod-0/comments "I know it sounds crazy but Gmod can install mods no matter where you found them." I know the kickstarter currently is on suspension, and that they are getting quite a bit of controversy over their name, but I have read a few comments and somebody asked if it could replace the NMM, can they legally do this? It seems kind of sketchy that Olympus Games wants to charge people a subscription fee for using their manager. I know they haven't said 'It can download directly from the Nexus', but they did say that it can replace the NMM. I'm sorry if this isn't the right forum category for this, but I couldn't think of any other place it would go in. I kind of thought this might need to get some attention from the higher-ups in this community.

Dark0ne
Installing mods from anywhere and downloading mods from anywhere are two very separate things. One suggests you'd be able to click the "Download with manager" button on the Nexus and GMod would start downloading the file inside the GMod program. The other suggests the GMod program can simply install the archives people upload to the Nexus, but they'd have to manually download the file first. The former we'd block by adding checks in to our API to prevent unauthorised use from commercial programs, the latter we can't control and don't care about as it's bog-standard stuff. NMM/Wyre/Mod Organizer etc. can all "install mods no matter where you found them", be it from Steam, the Nexus, TESA or whatever. It's hardly a major selling point of mod programs considering if a mod manager didn't work with standardised file formats it would be a pretty crap mod manager unworthy of the name! OpheliaNeoma
I feel a bit at ease knowing that you already have dealt with these people before, although I'm still worried that they will continue to steal from our community.
Rational314
Gmod.com has been down for updates for a few months, and kickstarter suspended the campaign. I suspect that they've run in to a pretty severe lack of funds
