Parrots In Skyrim

Well, long story short, I'd like to see a mod that adds parrots into Skyrim. AFAIK, the only way to do it would be to make them wildlife that was neither hostile nor scared, that you could just walk up on (since they're incredibly friendly IRL), or to replace the hawks that float around with parrots.

Personally, I like the idea of having them as pets. I own five large parrots IRL, so of course that appeals to me. But I'm not sure how easy that would be...

And if anyone's wondering what type of parrot...there are over 300 species thereof, so it's really more up to the modder's taste and ability.

If you're willing to dig through the files, you could ask around in the Tropical Skyrim modpage http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/33017//? which I think had parrots. Maybe they could be used in the vanilla game without having to add all the rest

I tried that mod once...it bogged my poor little computer down so horribly I could barely play the game...definitely need a higher-end machine!

I did have a thought though. Maybe the same script that allows you to pick up dogs as followers could be used on a parrot? They'd have to be placed in safe areas, so as not to be slain by wildlife, and I insist that they be Essential, as the thought of a dead parrot, even a virtual one, is hard to even speak of.

This mod page has been taken down, is it up anywhere else? I can't seem to find it

It wasn't removed, the post you replied to was just so old that they changed the URL format since then.

Here's an updated link: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/33017/
