paypal problem/link problem?

HI, I am trying to donate to a mod author. When I click on the donate button, it takes me to the Paypal site, but with a message that my transaction could not be completed. I was never on a screen where I could choose how much to donate. I thought it might be a browser issue, so I tried it again on Opera instead of firefox.

I hope someone might know what the problem is?

Oddly, if I click on the paypal link in my user preferences area (where it says to receive donations I will need a paypal link) it takes me right into my Paypal account, no problem. This is why I am thinking it might be a site/link issue rather than an issue with Paypal or my browser.

Thanks!

I also have noticed that the donate icon box (with the pound symbol) in the user profile header does not work at all.

Hi, it was ApolloDown, I tried his profile page donation button and his Civil war button.

I PM'd him, he says he has gotten a successful donation today.

I PMd someone else who mentioned that they were going to donate to see what browser they used, but so far no response.

I also tried donating to T3nd0, just to see if it worked. I got the same message from Paypal, but in German.

Just to clarify, when I press the donate button, should it bring up a page that allows me to specify the amount, or should I be seeing that on the page where the donate button is?

I'm about to try again, with Chrome.

I do have some blocking plugins with firefox, but I disabled them all, and when I downloaded Opera to try it, I did not add in plugins.

I know you guys are quite busy and I suspect that it must be something I am doing wrong....I appreciate your help!

Edit--Chrome did not work for me, either.

I do use Paypal a bit, recently purchased shoes at another site without any problems.

I also completely removed all plugins from firefox that block flash, tracking, cookies the whole shebang, restarted the browser but still no luck. :-(

Update: I finally figured out that it was Kaspersky blocking the paypal button...not sure why, like I said I use paypal a bit and never ran across an issue on other sites. Anyway, sorry for the trouble and I am glad it was just me.
