Settlement Blueprints

Is there anyone out there making settlement blueprint mods that don't leave you with 15-20 unused shack walled buildings, mazes of streets and alleys to blunder through, 30-50 (or even more) turrets, 12 generators, etc., for a settlement of 15-20 people? I like the idea of the blueprint system but nearly everything I've tried is way too overblown and complicated for the relatively simple places I like to build.

If you use someone else's blueprint you are stuck with their design aesthetic. For a simple settlement it's easier to just build your own.

Or, find something close to what you want, install it, then go through and delete the things you don't like.

Not enough people are using the Clipboard mod. It does the exact same thing Transfer Settlements does - only one hundred times faster. It's seriously no contest. Except I guess it's one weakness is that it won't save things you build outside of the build zone, whereas Transfer Settlements will pick those up.

You could build one template house, save it, and then paste it however many times you want, wherever you want. Do it your way.

I personally don't like to spam turrets, it is stupid. And takes up all your settlement scripts. You can only run so many scripts at a settlement. Run too many, and settlers end up just kinda standing around not doing anything. There's no need for all those turrets. Not like your settlers can die unless you hurt them. And at some point, the defense rating doesn't matter anymore. I modded my turrets so that 1 does the same defense and damage and health of 5 turrets. So I only actually put like... 5 turrets at each settlement. Plus, I like to make my settlers work for their home lol. Walls are much more effective than turrets anyway. NPCs can't get around them unless they spawn inside of them.

I do like to build little towns, though. Sidewalks, proper houses, all nice and flat without looking TOO pristine and new. Like to think I keep it pretty simple.

My blueprints are on the simple, smallish side. I don't like feeling closed in, so I'm with you on the "blundering through mazes of streets and alleys". And I try to keep the build limit somewhat reasonable, so there's not a 1,000 items of clutter filling every table top. You can check my profile for the blueprints I've uploaded. And also the save game has some settlements in the optional files.

My settlers are lucky if I decorate the inside of even one building. I almost never go inside any buildings I make with the exception of the one I've designated my home for that playthrough, so I don't really care what they look like on the inside. Mostly these days it's just sleeping bags spaced out enough so the settlers can get to them.

The outsides tend to be more elaborate. My current run I have the entirety of Starlight Theater levelled, walled off, and then carpeted with grass and the entire interior forested. A few tidy little cabins, some garden plots, and waterfalls pouring from one corner tower. That's it. Nothing extraneous. Can't even see attackers, just hear the crack of heavy laser cannons firing down from the top of the towers occasionally.

Plus, I like to make my settlers work for their home lol.

I have a raider outpost like that :) All the defenses are 6 def guard mats, with 15 different raiders assigned to one each. That and simple room full of beds they never use lol

I got a bunch of settlement blueprints that aren't too demanding or filled with hundreds of generators and turrets. I primarily use Kuro Tab (mainly for signs and junk walls) and ShackFest for my settlements to give them ascetic appeal. I also hate blueprints that require like 10+ mods. I think to use most of my blueprints you will just need 5 or 6 mods if you don't have them already.
