First off, Just to get it out of the way because i saw it in another topic while searching for a fix.

I know how to use Vortex.

Download, install, deploy.

Not new to this so that's not the problem here.

With that out of the way, Have hit on a bit of a problem with the file path for Cyberpunk 2077 and Vortex.

When i installed the extension it had me select the Cyberpunk 2077 folder, which i did.

I installed a mod, deployed... only to find it installed to the games main directory, not its mod folder.

Went to Games, Hit the + on Cyberpunk 2077, changed the path to the correct mod folder location..... aaaaaand the path didn't change. It still showed the main directory.

Tried another couple of times, Vortex wouldn't change it.

Thought maybe it might of changed it and the path is just too long too be shown so i tried installing another mod.

Deployed....

Once more it installed in the games main directory not the mod folder.

I noticed every Cyberpunk mod i have seen is set to manual download only and nobody has set directory structures unlike what you find with the likes of Skyrim so im guessing that is the problem here, So that leaves me with one question then i guess:

Can i force Vortex to use the mod folder?

Since it seems the games mod devs dont want to use Vortex for installs or even have support.

*Edit* Found a mod that uses Vortex. Tried it out and found this is a vortex issue.

The mod has the file structure and iss in a zip like you would find a normal skyrim mod, but unlike Skyrim mods that ignore the zip name only placing the files within, Vortex placed a folder in the games base directory named after the zip with the file structure inside lol.

*Edit 2* Ok well it looks like this is a mod dev screwup, that one I downloaded had an extra folder level which is why it ended up in the wrong place. So this isnt a vortex issue, its an I gues inexperienced mod dev issue (And Devs who dont want to use Vortex nor support it issue)

Have pretty much solved this myself at this point but leaving it here incase anyone in future has the same issue.

ty everyone for your time.

The Problem with Cyberpunk mods is they're not packaged correctly
