Dark0ne
McAfee is terrible. Nothing we can do about it except recommend you uninstall it and never look back.
Elfriend
Agreed. I've used several and it is by far the worst - can't believe they still manage to sell it. The security package that comes with Windows 7 works just fine and doesn't cost you a cent extra.
Numbnumb
Well I won't get rid of McAfee. I know it is silly but I just don't like malware clogging up my computer. With that said, I have another problem.NMM will not let me use it because I am not logged in to Nexus, which I am. It says I must login to the Nexus server which I already am. When I click on the error message I get a new one. "Login error: Cannot reach the Nexus login server. Either your firewall is blocking NMM or the login server is down.I have checked and rechecked my firewall and it is not blocking NMM and never has, that is until the latest itteration of NMM.I trust, of course, the login server is not down as I am typing this on Nexus.Someone recommended that I use an earlier version of NMM but checking my computer and I no longer have an earlier version to revert back to. The worst of it all is I had NO problems until the new version of NMM.So what do I do now? Edited July 5, 2016 by Numbnumb

In fact you will see just the opposite in many threads here. What is being told to you is that McAfee is not known to be the best and in fact you can get many good programs for free (or buy them if you want) and that are leaps and bounds over McAfee (which is well known for its false positives and for missing alot of everything else.) So perhaps consider a new and more robust anti-virus and dump the McAfee.
HalloweenWeed
Even Norton flags the Nexus as potentially harmful. I think it's because they figure someone could potentially put malicious code in a mod. I just tell it that it's OK.
Moksha8088
I think it is because of the Orcs and Draugr. The heuristics detection notices a deviation from the average Nord and that sets off the alarms. Now that is just a theory. It would need testing in an all Bosmer environment for further confirmation. Otherwise, the Nexus appears perfectly safe. Signette
Lol, it usually comes as additional malware software from some other soft you might be installing. I swear, it's worse than freaking virus, just purge it away on your computer for christs sake.
CiderMuffin
Even the original creator of McAfee hates it. Get Avast and Malwarebytes instead and you'll have a way better system.
woodsman30
Some of the adds get marked at malware ect.. I am not a fan of Mcafee but it is doing its job I get hit with an average of 30 adds on the start page so no real surprise it get blocked by some antivirus software.
