I installed it on the D: drive because the C: drive was getting full. Also, someone told me that it should be in a separate folder on the same drive as the game. I don't know why

Is in AppData, but I expect it would still be there if I reinstalled Vortex under Programs. I have been running Vortex from the D: drive for years now, and I can't understand why it is suddenly being blocked.

The only thing that needs to be on the same drive as the game is the MOD STAGING FOLDER.
I'm not sure where people got the impression that Vortex itself needs to be installed on the same drive as the game.

But, to save space on your C:\ drive, you should put your DOWNLOAD folder on D:\ as well.

Hmm . . . I reinstalled Vortex and the problem disappeared. I'm rather worried that it may come back though. I still don't know what caused it.
