File changes outside Vortex not including scripts?

Before raising a bug, I want to check expected behaviour.

I'm editing an esp and related scripts, which I have originally packed into a 7z file and installed via Vortex. Now on a regular basis Vortex notices that I have edited the esp and prompts me to save the newer version, I know this because I choose to show the individual files. Not once has Vortex prompted to show the edited pex or psc files. Since they were also installed by Vortex shouldn't it be doing this?

I have a mod with scripts and an esp.

I edit them and when they work I copy across to a folder and zip them up to publish a new version.

Just recently I decided to make major revisions on an experimental version, while still developing the current version.

I made a new zip file of the exisitng mod, called it my_mod - experimental, it has the same files (in name that is).

I installed that zip file manually in Vortex and Vortex created vortex_backup files of the current version of the scripts, whkle I worked on the now installed experimental versions. Along with making edits to the scripts for my experimental mod version I also edit the esp in the CK. Every now and then I am prompted to decide whether to keep the new version of the esp in the statging folder of my experimental version of the mod. Scripts are never mentioned (by mentioned I mean listed as individual files).

Since my last post I've done some experimenting, adding comments to the psc files, saving and then disabling the experimental version, reloading the psc file and yes the comment has gone, if I enable the experimental version and reload the psc file the comments are there! But at no point does vortex prompt me to save the scripts, which is not a problem right now, since I want it to! I need to be able to go between versions and compile and edit either etc.

But in theory, shouldn't Vortex give me a choice?
