Dark0ne Posted September 3, 2004 Share Posted September 3, 2004 I'm telling you, if there is anything that will unite the planet and create world peace, it's the discovery of aliens. Once we find another "intelligent" spiecies we will be forced to unite because they refer to us as one thing: earthlings. They won't see blacks, asians, white people, ect. They will see one spiecies, and we will be forced to too. Well at least I hope that's what will happens.... Hopeful, but doubtful. I pondered a similar situation a few days ago after watching Wing Commander. I wondered why Earth was a single state planet - "The Terran Empire" - when its more than likely the Yanks will be first to colonise space and call it "The United States Empire". And in honor of that conquest, renamed ourselves the Terran Empire to satisfy our ego. Anyway, interesting discovery, but don't get too excited yet. It's far from proof of an alien civilization.
