Overseer Terminal Unlocks Vault Locations (Filling a Request)

Someone asked for this, um, somewhere. I can't find the original thread.

The question was something like "why, when you are using the overseer's terminal in Vault 111, does it not seem to know about any other vault?"

I was actually debugging a mod that did that at the time. If you go to my Vault Empire page you'll find Vault Empire - Vault Network. This adds terminal entries to the overseer's terminal in Vault 111, the one you have to use to unlock the escape tunnel to exit the vault, which, when read, reveal the locations of the other vaults in the Commonwealth (with the exception of 88, because you get that another way).

Fast travel is not unlocked, you still have to walk there. It also doesn't reveal the Vault-Tec HQ building downtown, 'cause reasons (ok, I forgot it, I'll work it in in a future update).

If you speed run and miss the terminal entries, well, you can go back in if you haven't modded 111 in some way, such as using my Vault Empire mod. The entries are only added to Vault111Cryo, not any other version of 111 (there are two in the vanilla game) or any other vault. There's a holotape version, I probably should stick that in all the other vault overseer's terminals (except 88 of course). Maybe in the next update.

It was in Mods that Need to be Made, Aurreth. Thank you! I'd consider sticking the holotape in Regional HQ, actually. That would settle its place. Vaults might have remaining entries on the other vaults' locations or not based contextually. As an example, 81 might have a file in the Overseer's old terminal, the locked one that also contained her notes on finding out about 81's original purpose and her role in circumventing it. The rest of the Vault, not so much aside from possibly the terminal in Secret 81 with the science staff's story having a map and a gripe about not having the chance to go to any as had been planned if and when they burned out Public 81.

88... might be mentioned in the HQ but not listed as it never did get off the ground. 114 would not have any mention of other Vaults, as isolation and inconvenience were the Stanislaus Special for the Sewer Vault. 95's map may well have been destroyed with one of the terminals or never included as isolation was needed for the sobriety experiment. Like that.

You're looking at a pre-release. I actually did things the way I did for a reason, and phrased certain entries specific ways. Oh, and look at the entries for each vault, the "last successful query" (and I just noticed 75 is missing a couple digits lol) And why is "Core" capitalized? :)

Anyway, plenty of room for backtracking and tweaking. For now, for me, it's just a navigational aid to make speed runs to the various Vault Empire locations easier for testing purposes.
